ON THE EDGE OF BRAZIL'S ENORMOUS WATERFALL 🇧🇷 CACHOEIRA DA FUMAÇA IN CHAPADA DIAMANTINA, BRAZIL
- Today we start our day in Chapada Diamantina National Park at Pousada Lendas Do Capao (a treehouse). This is one of the most unique accommodations we have ever stayed at. We decide to do a big hike today to a waterfall, Cachoeira da Fumaça a waterfall that is massive, enormous, and by the time the water gets halfway down it's decent, it seems to evaporate and turn into smoke. The waterfall gets its name from this illusion. It is one of the most unbelievable waterfalls (or places in general) in Chapada Diamantina. So watch this video, let us know what you think. This is the Cachoeira da Fumaça Chapada Diamantina Waterfall Travel Vlog in Brazil.

Hey guys, what city / country are you from?
Brasília.
USA 🇺🇸
Vitória da Conquista - Bahia - Brazil ....The 3th largest city in the Bahia State!

You’re right!
Take a bottle of coconut water along

Sou e moro no Rio.
Guys. You definely need to buy a shirt to do these hikes. It cost $50 reais, and keep you skin protected from the sun and dont let the sun heat them too much. Ask locals where to buy long-sleeved shirts to protect you from the sun. If you are going to stay in the northeast region of Brazil you definely need this.
yes!
UV clothing would help a lot, specially during summer. Roupas com proteção UV ajudariam bastante, especialmente no verão.
Good advice.
you're so crazy to go over that edge I was terrified just watching it lol
It was scary
Guys, you shouldn't go out without proper clothes, even in cloudy days the burns no mercy, take care, you beauties!!!
Vocês precisam se proteger melhor para caminhada. Usar camisetas compridas , chapéu e principalmente água. Fiquem seguros 🙏
This red water is due to the excess iron through which the water passes until it reaches the surface!
Ah yes I think that’s what I meant to say instead of copper
It's beautiful and refreshing but it's important to say to not drink it you can get diarrhea by drinking so much iron.
Meanwhile in the future... What do you miss the most from Brazil? "ASSAI" -Lindsay "Caipirinha" -Alex
Lol!
You are spot on!
Perfect
As your trip goes more and more to the north of Brazil, it will become warmer, I recommend buying high SPF sunscreen as well as a hat and long sleeve shirt!

Good Morning. I saw some of your vídeos and I have some tips for both of you. (just in case and if you're not doing like this) Tip Number one: Use both satellite maps "Here we go" and "Google maps" (for iOS and Android). Try to use two mobile phones from iOS and Android. They work differently. When using Android mobile with the GPS "Here we go" download "Brazil map" or the states's maps you're travelling in. Do not just rely on the internet chip. Tip number two: establish the route before leaving the hotel (using Wifi or your chip) and save or do not touch the map anymore until you reach the destination (save on one of the cell phones). And please try to put "on screen" the portuguese names of the places you're visiting. Thank you very much for your videos, they are awesome.
I know the schadule is finish the rest of northeast and then Amazon (if you are not into Amazon already), but if you guys have a bit more time to spend here in Brazil, come visit us in Bonito here in Mato Grosso do Sul. Not only Bonito is full of internacional hotels, pousadas and hostels, with lot's of natural beauties, but also from here you can achieve the south part of the biggest flooded swomp of the world, and the biggest preserved, The Pantanal. Flights to Campo Grande, a strutctured and the capital city here, are able from Brasilia, Cuiabá, São Paulo, Campinas, Rio, among the more norther airports, and even Bolivia or Paraguay. Bonito's airport receives flights from Campinas and SP serverd by Azul and Gol. Also, from Campo Grande you can fly to Bolivia if Bolivia is on the bucket list. Inside the Campo Grande's airport you can embark on the turists vans and buses to Bonito, BUT, hire a travel agency first. Your're going to need one to catch you in Campo Grande airport and to do the guided attractions there. The attractions are allways done with guides and limited number of turists, with credencials needed before, due to the preservation policies. Don't worry, Bonito is one of our national products sold to internacional visitors abroad, so they probably speak english from the hotel lobby, agency, the turst guide, to the restaurant waitress. BTW, depending on the season, you can find more international visitors then locals, especially from USA. I'm a local here in Campo Grande, not related to any agency or comission, but I can help you guys with more infos if needed. You can reach me on IG as @ivan_miyashiro. Cheers, have a safe journey.

Hey guys ... tks a lot . Wonderful images from it. Jesus bless You!!!!!

This is so awesome! Jealous as I’m stuck in the cold right now
Try to stay warm!
So come to Brasil and be stuck in the hot weather!
@@veraregina4525 This summer has been pleasant, it's raining every day, it's less hot than last winter. Not to mention last year that there was a heat wave that lasted for a long time in the whole country. The heat of now is much more bearable. Compared to that diabolical heat wave, this summer is wonderful.
In some places they do the registry of the rikers so if by the end of the day someone didn't come back, they would probably send a search party. I went to Eldorado in São Paulo once after the new year, and a waterfall was closed (I can't recall the name). It seems some tourists went during the previous christmas and between drinks and swims, someone died there. So they started to close the place during Holidays.
Since the trail didn't have many signs and the waterfall itself is very dangerous, I believe that's the reason why they ask for check-in and check-outs.
you should go to Jalapão, Jericoacora, Fernando de Noronha, Bonito, Gramado, Serra Gaúcha, Pomerode, Foz do Iguaçu

Wow, the landscape up there is unique, unforgettable. There is another waterfall, this one is in Venezuela, the name is Salto Angél, it is over 950 meters high, certainly the tallest and most beautiful in the world. While Niagara Falls is 34 meters high on the American side and 57 meters high on the Canadian side, Iguaçu Falls is 82 meters high. It is an incredible place to visit and I guarantee you will not regret it.
You guys should go to Foz do Iguacu (Iguazu Falls) it's amaazingggggg
how much was the hotel staying per night at the tree house + the room with the jacuzzi ?
Great videos, keep up the good work and as a Brazilian myself I have to recommend a

Tree house was around 120-150 usd and the room with the jacuzzi was cheaper
There had been already many situations where people had to be rescued by helicopter when hiking at Chapada Diamantina. It's probably the reason why they ask the names.

I had to drink two coconuts after this hike. It's tough.

the problem was they went unprepared. the hike is actually much nicer if you use a guide and wear proper clothing. exposed limbs will heighten dehydration, its also why you should go earlier in the day. load of sunblock as well.

I went on instagram and I don't see anything that is not already on youtube....I find it interesting that you re spending time exploring Brazil. I think it's a huge country and it's as good if not better than any other country to explore. I hope you have no limited time. As for me, i haven't moved from Nicaragua. Planning to go back to Mexico in April. No reason to leave Nicaragua before. Plus I have ordered a few things on Amazon. It won't get here until March,if it ever does come here. I took a chance!
I don't do difficult hikes for a few minutes rewards anymore. If i can't drive to a place, i skip it! It's like here. There's many beaches but I go only to the easiest to reach. A nice beach is a nice beach. I don't see why I would give myself much troubles to find....sand and see again. I can enjoy those i go the way I like, that's good enough for me. I spent my time on the beach, not driving to get to it. Be careful, one in both of you seem to have a tendency to gain weight....!
the TreeHouse is my favourite accommodation that you've shown. 6:07 I think the Brazilian heat is really setting into you and making you exhausted from being outdoors so much. I know this is an on odd thing to ask, but what are the colour of both your eyes..in the sun the colour really comes out..just asking. 10:52 so how come the water is so orange? When you get home from being so tired, and take a cool shower, you will sleep for a very long time...hehehe
The orange is from iron. Our eyes are blue
Hi, I like your videos, keep going. I would like to ask a question.
I have been with you since the beginning of the journey in Brazil. I remember that you talked a lot about security in the country. Now with that time inside the country, what is your opinion? Do you feel safe?
do not confuse the reality of rio de janeiro with the rest of Brazil, as Brazil is a continent. is not in the stereotype theculturetrip.com/south-america/brazil/articles/8-stereotypes-all-brazilians-hate/
It really depends on where we go in Brazil, we have felt unsafe at times, mainly in Salvador
My heart goes out to Alex. I can't imagine doing this kind of hike after having food poisoning, already dehydrated. It was a stunning view however. Lindsey, I've never had a fear of heights but watching this made my palms sweat. Glad you guys didn't take any chances and were able to get some fantastic drone shots. Yeah, they would have had to drag me out of that tree house kicking and screaming, loved it. But your new room is so charming with the outdoor patio.

The color of the water is due to the rocks. This region has the oldest geology on the planet. And in Vale do Capao in the square there is an excellent pizzeria.
Ela falou correto TB. Tem uma concentração de ferro bastante alta
The color in the water is also due to tannin.
The water color is due to a large amount of decomposing organic matter. Some people say it’s because of metals but it’s a myth.
