Gracie still had a beautiful voice even at 80, I noticed over David Jacobs shoulder another great singer from the war years Anne Shelton, I don't suppose you have her performance from the show.
Interesting to hear her with 1978 recording technology - she has a very good voice [especially at 80: no sign of quaveriness, unlike some other now (2024) aging singers I liked when in their prime]. I'd always thought Gracie's voice was very harsh (though still amazing - that leap), but I'm now guessing it was the recording capabilities of the time.
