BONX sent me two headsets to review and I'm very glad that they did! After finally checking these bluetooth headsets out I found that both the headsets and the BONX app are great gadgets!
The BONX system acts like a walkie talkie that was moved into the next generation. You can create private rooms to chat in and invite friends from anywhere.

I was on that ride in Ringwood and I can tell you the Bonx saved us. It allowed Rob and Gene to keep the group together and limit the waiting for the back of the pack to catch up. Looking forward to the video of the ride.

Requiring the cellular network is a problem -- as most serious rides will get into poor service areas pretty quickly.
Nice review, Gene! It looks a cool gadget. It has its shortcomings, though...like over $100 for a single earpiece and it requires data connection - according to Amazon's Q&A

Thanks for this review. I am really interested in the recording capability and wonder if it works if the person who sets up the room has an iPhone and other participants do not. Do you happen to know? I am going to bet they come out with an Android-capable version for recording. Love your idea of the map! That would definitely be useful and even critical if someone needs help and you want to find them. Current price is $140 USD so it isn't a low cost of entry. Seems like something clubs and orgs who do lots of group rides would want to invest in. ' appreciate the thoroughness and honesty in your review. Roll on! Oh, also, I just realized I wasn't a subscriber. Got that fixed :-)
If your interested in an open ear so you can hear you sourroundings i use aftershokz titanium its a bone conduction headset so you hear your music or calls while leaving both ears open for traffic
I use hearing aids that are paired with my phone; I’d like to purchase the earpiece for my wife to use . Is it possible for me to use the phone/app paired with my ears, and still communicate with my wife who will have the ear piece? I like the Vox feature, so I’m assuming I could use that when we’re riding... thanks for any help!
They no longer exist? Anything new like this in the market? Need a minimalist design for sure with all the necessary things like waterproof, sos etc...
Thought this was going to be something that I could use with my 8 year old son who doesn’t have a phone.
