    Hello Miles McC,
Thank you for posting. It is approximately midnight here, where I live in Europe. I've only just returned from a few weeks in Romania and is planning to return at the end of the summer.
I wanted to capture some of the older parts of the places I visited whilst there, but did not have a camera to use; only my mobile phone. Learning from this mistake I have decided to plan another trip, but on this trip get a good solid camera, to capture the beautiful screens, I couldn't get on this trip, but to also learn the process of film photography.
To learn the process and art (I don't think I have an artistic bone in my body)....
I ordered a Nikon Nikomat from Japan Vintage Camera. It came only yesterday. The camera is heavy and feels like it'll last forever. It also came with 50mm f/2 Nikkor-H lens.
I am only just starting, and because I like manual things I went for this one. But, I am really liking how solid and substantial the camera feels.
I want to learn (albeit slowly), how to use the tool and how to develop an eye for colour and how they interact with light. All this for when I get back to Romania.
Okay, I am excited and the film stock I bought haven't arrived yet.
Hahahahaha! I was just looking for videos of how to use the Nikomat and found yours. I suppose I will continue to watch, so I can learn from your journey.
Thanks and good luck to both of us, on our film journeys.

Congrats on getting your new film camera. I'm sure you can't go wrong with any camera. It really comes down to learning how to get the most out of what you got. Sunny 16 will get you started but keep in mind that its only going to be good for outdoor situations. You'll want to start using an app known as myLightMeter to help you dial in your exposure, unless you want to buy a dedicated light meter. Good luck to you in your journey!

@@jollytime0811 thank you for a swift response Miles.
I did also buy the Voightlander VC Meter ll to help me along the learning path. It will arrive next week with the film.
I will also use the app (you've recommended) , just to see how well it can be trusted. As I say, I am more of a manual person, compared to liking digital.
I think once I get started I will eventually find which works better, with what. For me, it is just taking my time to learn and enjoy the process.
      Thanks again, and good night.
