I am watching this discussion now, after Bryson has won the US Open, and I have to admit a lot of it was on point. Padraig is brilliant as usual. Good discussion! It will be interesting to see what the PGA does to rein in Bryson and any others who may want to follow him now that his method has not only survived, but beaten a course like Winged Foot black and blue. Let's face it, a US Open at Winged Foot is as tough it possibly gets in the current golf setup.

The course is Muirfield Village, not Memorial. Memorial is the name of the tournament played there every year.

Really interesting interview Padraig is great and very honest and interesting but like a few others he won 3 majors in two years then tried to change his game and didn’t win another, Luke Donald gets to world no.1 then tried to change his game to get better and never recovered, Martin Kaymer another. Surely if you are good enough to win a major or get to world no.1 your game is there so why change it, chasing perfection which in golf doesn’t exist

Padraig is without peers when it comes to talking golf. Loved the Norman story 1:33:30 at Birkdale in '08 & his thoughts when watching Sergios putt to win at Carnoustie in '07 1:46:55

Guys, let's just remember Lance "I have never failed a test" Armstrong, yes nothing has been proved against Bryson but only a fool would ignore things after what has gone before if we take a look back at cycling.

What DeChambeau has achieved is no mean feat by any stretch of imagination. He deserves every bit of credit coming his way, especially after the US Open win. But if his performance at Winged Foot is not a tipping point for golf authorities to start talking about standardization of equipment and reining in distance, nothing will be. It's great to watch but where does it end? It's not like you can stretch a golf course across state borders.

21.18, just for info, it's biologically impossible to turn fat in to muscle. fat is fat and muscle is muscle.

Ref the camera guy run in: yes I agree Bryson was out of line...but his point about making the brand look bad is legit. Arnie didn't like them showing him smoking and he smoked a lot back in his younger days, Tiger spits a lot and they always scramble to show something else whenever that happens.

Bryson does not look like he is on steroids at all. I went from 11 stone to 13 in 5months no problem.

Its an old fashioned mindset and ignorant to assume that muscle mass = steroids. Sports Science has come a long way in the last 20 years. I dont think there is anyone on the tour who takes themselves or golf as serious as Dechambeau. What viewers are seeing now are the results of that. Only part of his game he needs to work is his attitude towards camera men. If you dont mind them being there for your good shots, then same goes for your bad ones.

Brooks might want to focus on his own game which is in shambles right now. Brooks who is pretty jacked and powerful himself.
Bryson isn't lean and cut up, he got pretty chubby in the process. 6 months is a good amount of time to bulk up 30 pounds or whatever.
Bulking up, and even take steroids, doesn't translate to 360 yards in the fairway. Brooks is just a jealous and sore loser. On top of that you have the approach and the putt. Bryson's combined everything in Detroit. That won't happen week in and week out. But if it does, he might go on a Tiger-like rampage.
