Great reaction Valerie! Floor has the most incredible aura about her. She blows me away in everything that she does.. I have listened to heavy metal for 25 years and until 7 months ago never listened to Nightwish or After Forever somehow. Floor is a once in a lifetime discovery for me and when I listen I feel the greatest sense of bliss. Only happiness, love and positivity.
The other day i read a typical reaction on an older Nightwish song performed with Floor. The reactor himself was very exited. The comment i read was like you must listen to Tarja this and that song ...... THE ORIGINAL. This is original Floor with After Forever - she already had a career on high artistic level before she joined forces with Nightwish. The 'boys' from Nightwish new it, they already toured with them and afterwards they stayed in contact - including Tarja. Tarja is Tarja, Annette is Annette and Floor is Floor. I got tears in my eyes of what i just heard - original tears. Thanks to the Patreon and thank you Valerie for giving this a change. It deserves the ears of more listeners.
All the drama is manufactured by butt hurt fans from skewering Tuomas over the open letter, to Annette's departure, ad nauseum. There is still a rift between Tarja and Tuomas but everything else is from the fans magical thinking. The first call Floor made after taking the Nightwish job was to Tarja and she asked are you ok with this? Tarja was the past is the past do what's best for you. We all have our favorite works, vocalists and performances. The bands body of work though holds up no matter the era.

If I remember from the Best Zangers tv show, she liked music, liked to sing, joined After Forever because , but she also got into the music / Rock Akademie at the same time so you could say she was learning about her voice and what she could do with it, with practical experience whilst being in the band After Forever

You can't go wrong with Floor Jansen or Simone Simons Nightwish and Epica are Symphonic Metal at it's very best By far my 2 favorite songs are when Floor made a guest appearance with Epica and Simone on Sancta Terra and an older operatic hymn called Stabat Mater Dolorosa at Epica's Retrospective concert

(Pinkpop is the biggest Dutch music festival with all kinds of performances, from Pearl Jam to Paul McCartney)
After Forever had quite a few awesome ballads, almost a bit underrated in that respect. There is an almost operetta-like duet a proper tenor in Imperfect Tenses. or a gorgeous more traditional power ballad Cry With a Smile, you've already heard Strong and this one, Intrinsic, not to mention the later ReVamp gem Sweet Curse, originally with Russel Allen, and later covered with Henk Poort during her mini solo tour, just pre-COVID. And if you like Kate Bush, you may want to check out more of Sharon den Adel from Within Temptation who might be closer to the KB style, and, in fact, cited her as a significant influence, doubly important considering Sharon is much more self-taught than Floor.
This is not a great recording but her voice still cuts through. She could be singing through two cans connected with string and she’d still sound great. I haven’t seen this performance before and it highlights how unique she is. Amazing! Great reaction. Also, love the dress!

After Forever is more "raw" than nightwish: no useless keyboard stuff, just pure metal ! And, well, the "kate bush" style also inspired Sharon from WT (when WT was still a metal band and not a mainsteam pop band)

Unfortunately, this is the best quality with a concert, I searched a lot in UA-cam, but I could not better find of this, sound is normal.
