The man is missed as much as Keith moon John Lennon Freddy mercury missed because he was unique no one played like him certainly with the passion he did BB king once said and I quote ( Gary Moore is that good god invited him to the last supper )
Gary Moore still gets the recognition from the rock and blues fraternity, but will always remain unnoticed by the radio stations, their ignorant DJ’s and the modern unskilled and talentless musicians. That guitar is priceless and officially named after the genius who made it famous, Greenie...... Moore could never find Peter Greene’s tone so found his own thick, lush honeyed tone. Once out of rehab and mental institutions Peter Greene started playing again with any guitar that was available...... Even with a 2nd hand Strat PG still reproduced the magical tone that guitar is famous for, even though only PG could ever find it. lol
The UK and Ireland gave us Gary Moore, Eric Clapton, David Gilmour of Pink Floyd ( Comfortably Numb-PULSE-LIVE" is a masterpiece fusion of Music and Lights ) and ALSO Jimmy Page, Richie Blackmore and the wondrous Rory Gallagher from Ireland itself....:)
@@Isleofskye John McLaughlin, Steve Hillage, Brian May, Francis Dunnery...One of my faves of recent times is John Mitchell. The list is endless lol. But Gary Moore for me tops the lot.
@@Isleofskye I think Frank Dunnery got most of his style of playing from Alan Holdsworth, Steve Howe, And Steve Hackett...They old enough for you? ;) I love Dunnery's playing and music though. Robert Fripp, is another great Uk guitarist...Slipped mind that one!
The tone is incredible. Any guitarist can get in the ball park, with a variety of gear. But getting to that specific address is just....I'm not religious, but heavenly is the only word I can think of to describe his tone.
Many people would credit his tone to the guitar he is playing, after all, it is Peter Greens famous guitar. In truth , Gary found his own tone on that guitar , very different to Peters tone, but both sublime and beyond expectations. But still the same guitar. lol
Yeah Kevin that tone and that emotion is unmatched! Everytime I hear him it's amazing! Check out The Loner live in Stockholm I believe. He's playing a white Jackson on that one it's unreal!
what's up man I just ran into your channel with your first Gary Moore video and of course watch still got The blues,Gary Moore is one of my favorite artists. to bring the guitar is using their Gibson Les Paul my favorite guitar I'm a drummer but I do try and just mess around on the guitar but I have one and like an idiot I let it go but they got some of the deepest tones because they're solid body and kind of heavy but to me the pickups are hot in them and they just sound better than any other guitar and if you go back into rock metal anyways you'll find out mostly guitar players play Les Paul at least back in the 70s and in the '80s some of them started going over to different brands but anyways like your reactions man have a good one
I am a huge fan of rock guitarist's, and have heard every major player, and none have the raw emotion in their playing that Gary does. I had tears in my eyes listening to him play this, it was beautiful. One of the all time greats, yet regrettably, few in the USA have ever heard of him. I saw him live twice, and both times he was incredible! May his music last forever.
The guitar he's playing was originally owned by a man named Peter Green who was a blues master with an incredible tone and voice. He was the dude that formed fleetwood mac, but in their early days they mostly did bluesy stuff and its absolutely incredible. Please start off listening to peter green with a song called black magic woman by fleetwood mac. You will not be disappointed.
Ohh so the les Paul that kirk hammet uses is garrys and Peter's guitar? Ive always fined it cool how Garry and Kirk both have inverted neck pickups, never knew it was the same guitar. Atleast its in the hands of a good guitarist @@TyGuy1245
Kirk Hammett recently purchased Gary Moore's 1959 Les Paul for two million dollars . But no amount of money will ever duplicate the magic and passion of Gary Moore .
What an incredible reaction took my wife to his grave as a surprise while visiting friends it broke her as she loves him.so much. From Belfast good luck.
One of my all time favorite performances. The vocals on top of his extraordinary guitar playing rips my heart right out of my chest even after hundreds of repeat listens over the years. This song will never age a day for me.
Very hard to pick between him and Rory, both two of the greatest players of all time anywhere, not just Irish players, but I think I'd have to agree with you and give the nod to Rory just because he showed us he was a wizard at more styles than Gary did. Not that Gary probably couldn't have played those styles, he just didn't.
I can’t decide between Gary Moore or Rory Gallagher… which one is the best blues/rock guitarist to come out of Ireland. So I suppose I’ll just have to continue on listening to both of them, trying to decide, listening, listening…. What the hell, they’re both magnificent!!
I love hard-core blues, and this performance by Gary is one of my favorites. He was SOOO GOOOOD! Sadly, he passed some time ago (as did two other of my favorite blues guitarists/vocalists -- Stevie Ray Vaughn and Jeff Healey). I like to think they're all now up there jammin together. I am SO thankful that we have videos of their performances. And thank YOU for a great reaction! I LOVE seeing new generations discovering some of the old greats we have been fans of for quite some time. And thank you for not holding back on your reaction. I hope you know there are lots of us watching your reaction video and reacting right along with you. I think I'm gonna have to hit the subscribe button!
BB King and Gary Moore are my favorite blues players. The feelings they express through their guitars were simply Amazing. I'm sad that I never had a chance to see either of them play live...
You've just heard one of the finest guitar solos you will ever hear. Love to watch the younger generation discover pure blues music. Gary was one of the best. RIP..... great reaction!
What a journey you’re on, young Nyco! Another maestro from my youth, another one taken far too soon. Sublime guitarist and great singer. You couldn’t fail to be moved by this magic Glad you enjoyed Love to see the Barcelona top out again too 😎
I like you and have Subscribed and I love the way you allowed the music to FLOW so Well Done My Friend and, in return, let us all enjoy the wondrous sound of Gary @ MONTREUX Playing "Parisienne Walkways".. That is THE version to listen to ,I promise you and I bought my first record in 1960 a long 61 years ago in London :) ENJOY....
Gary was an incredible guitarist, My preference was for his Rock work. Please check out his solo Rock work and the stuff he did with legendary Thin Lizzy
The version with Gary Moore and George Harrison is equally as good. It was the last recording George ever did. He also said that Gary Moore was his favourite guitarist
Hey since you're getting into the hardcore blues, you should check out B.B. King, he was for lack of a better term, the king of the blues. His playing was nothing like Gary Moore's as it was extremely slow competitively but he made up for it in that he made every note convey its own emotion. Check out BB King performing The Thrill Is Gone live at Nick's 1983.
The man was a genius and doesn't get the recognition that he deserves
He was known as the best guitarist at that time
The man is missed as much as Keith moon John Lennon Freddy mercury missed because he was unique no one played like him certainly with the passion he did BB king once said and I quote ( Gary Moore is that good god invited him to the last supper )
@mags jay Me too, saw him 3 or 4 times in Glasgow, blew my mind

Yeah agree he’s just as good as anyone else
Just remember… America gave us Stevie Ray Vaughan and Europe gave us Gary Moore!
I was blessed to see both of them live multiple times as a young man!

Gary's rock playing is fantastic, but his blues playing is sublime. Mr. Tone himself.

Gary Moore,,,, the name says it all
Playing the blues with a Gibson Les Paul and a monstrous stack. Raw power. Crying to the stars.
You should go and hear Jack More play his daddys guitar live. Gary Moore tribute.
I'm subbing to every one who took the time to react to Gary Moore
Without question
Listen to his words😳😭
There will NEVER, NEVER B ANYONE,, LIKE HIM!!!. He he cries with his guitar/ and voice🙆💖😎
EVERY SONG GARRY WROTE IS GOOD
Gary Moore...as good as it gets!
First his guitar sings, then he sings, then his guitar finishes it off. Great song, great reaction, too.
So glad you got to react to Gary Moore! The most underrated guitarist of all time! I put him tied with jimi for GOAT!
No one...no one like him!. Gary Moore Is the Guitar God.
He gave his soul in every performance.

This man is as good as any. Fact!
Check out him playing with BB King!!! Amazing!
Great voice too
An absolute elite level guitarist - but a hell of a singer, too. Love Gary
Gary feels what he plays. A master of feeling on the guitar. He makes it talk to you.
NO ONE, NO ONE COMPARES🙆
RIP to the GOAT...
My God he can play. Simply hypnotic. Thanks for the great reaction to this much underappreciated genius.
Not only an incredible guitar player but a voice that is equal to it. IMHO - the greatest guitar player that ever lived.
“King of the Blues” is a great tribute Gary did for B.B. King. Gary’s playing is just amazing, so much demotion and feeling.
Genius , had the privilege to see live 3 times , unforgettable performances by a legendary musician , RIP Gary Moore 😎😎👍👍❤

@Harry Snothead the guy from metallica bought it and plays it now. Sadly I don't think much blues are being played with it anymore.

@@zimzimma5688 Agreed!

Gary Moore is to guitar as Barcelona is to soccer - one of the greatest. :)

The Gary Moore song "The Loner" is a song you will like. Guaranteed!
Absolutely agree, but the version to review has to be live from Stockholm, the intro alone is worth the listen...
Omg that’s what I’ve always said. The guitar cries during this song. Not during My guitar gently weeps. This song. This guitar. Cries. Thank you.
