A lot of people will think, "If I just lose the weight, all my problems will be better." Take it from a person who has lost over 100 lbs, weightloss is not a cure-all. It will help with a lot of things in life absolutely, but you still have to work on your psychological and mental fitness as well. Health is multifaceted, and there is no single way to perfect health. It may be a cliche, but it's a journey, not a destination.

I’ve struggled with weight my whole adult life. I would approach fitness with the all-or-nothing mentality, completely focused on the negative feelings about my weight. Then after a month, I’d give up. This time, now that I have a daughter, I’m focusing on the longevity aspect of my health. I want to be healthy so that I can be there for her. The physical changes are great, too, but this time it’s not my “why”. And I can tell the difference.

Thank you for the conversation about the capacity for anyone to be able to change when they commit to a process (even in prison). To me, that's the spirit of Mind Pump's message. This is a great reminder to all of us to take control where we can to become better people. ❤

I used to be really disciplined with my diet and exercise, but over the last few years and especially after 2 miscarriages, i just lost it all. I have had trouble getting up in the morning, let alone exercise. but i looked in the mirror yesterday and wanted to cry. I have to do something, but how to give yourself the positive mindset when you can only see the negative? Today i managed to get up with my ala4m, put on the workout clothes i had set out for myself last night, and do 5 minutes of movement. I know its not enough, but im kinda proud of myself for doing it, because at least it was something.

I started the jurney of losing weight again this year and got really frustrated with myself that I have to do it again and again. And then I found you, guys, binge watched a ton of videos and realised I just have to change my thinking pattern and make some better life decisions. Now I'm focused on my protein intake, strenght training 3-4 days a week and making better choices with my diet. I feel amazing and I plan to live like this my whole life! Thank you for educating us and for making the process easy and doable!

They have programs in prison that allow inmates to work, learn skills, even get degrees. The weights were taken away because too many guards were being hurt with the weights. They now have machines in their gyms to exercise. The problem is the person has to want to improve themselves. The programs are available. Spiritual and work skills, and physical fitness. We even had programs that the inmates did community projects, like painting schools and clean up.

This is the perfect topic for where I am in my fitness journey. Im a year and a half removed from an ankle injury, I put on 15/20 lbs and lost muscle mass. Took me about 3 months to move around without assistance. After a few failed attempts at getting back into lifting, I'm finally back on a 3 day a week full body program! I had to change my thinking in regards to training, realizing that it was better to train consistently over lifting heavy and getting hurt. Feeling great since having that shift in thought and now training regularly. Definitely built most of my current from information I picked up listening to you guys.

Sal!!! I can't get over the survival story you brought up! In 2007 I was ejected out of vehicle and was hurt very badly and miracle after miracle from a couple calling for help to them saving me from getting run over and to months in a coma, they had mentioned I was bite by fire ants on the side of the road and that's another thing that I now believe that God never stops amazing me on the things by his grace lined up and now I'm in the best shape of my life and with yalls help I'm getting better daily!! So thanks for sharing

I love this episode! It's about focusing on what you can do now. "I don't want to lose" or "I don't want to be fat" both focus on things currently outside of your control. You can't control the opponent actions. You can't change your past. You can only control your own actions and what you do now. So "We play to win" and "I want to get strong" focuses on real possible actions.

Second comment: Some states, mine included, DO have work release for some folks in our jails. My state also has a major revitalization of the "offender re-entry" program which aims to help them digure out to function outside again which includes how to disclose your background, how to organize and pay bills, etc. Finding housing in the first place is so difficult and partly why recidivism so high.

Dr. Tyna is amazing. Ive been on mounjaro for 20 months because my blood work indicated i would have a heart attack or stroke in 6 months if i didn't make changes to my lifestyle. Working with my Dr. I was put on mounjaro. My A1C was 6.9 body fat percentage was 48.9 weight was 480lbs on blood pressure medication. In 20 months on mounjaro i improved my health. Today my A1C is 5.1 from 6.9. My body fat percentage was 48.9 now 25.6. My weight was 480lbs and now 301lbs. Ive lost 179lbs and im off my high blood pressure medication and no longer have sleep apnea. I feel amazing and blessed to have my health back. I do strength training 5 times a week and 30 minute daily walk. I prioritize protein by eating 250g a day of protein. GLP1 medication are saving people's lives. Its also reverse kidney damage and cardio vascular indicaters.

I struggled when I would workout because I hated the way I looked. I hated my body. Now I know I want to be strong. I want to have energy. I’m almost 50 and am focused on just aging well and being healthy. Since that mindset shift working out and eating healthy has gotten easier. 💖

4 hour workouts, till failure , i’m 20 and I have a strained pec minor, and almost herniated my disc.

God gave me a sign I need to slow down. I have been praying on whether to do maps aesthetic next, or maps anabolic.
I am almost scared to do anabolic, because I think it’s too much volume, that being said I put god first. If he makes it clear I should do anabolic, i’ll suck it up and take the program the whole way through.

I would suggest taking a look at Dr. Joe Dispenza's books (Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself or You Are the Placebo) surrounding changing your mindset to create lasting changes. His research really amplifies the mind's ability to instruct the body.

Great for boys and may keep him active and invested in the movements enough that he doesn't just leave that talent behind.

There was a guy that fell asleep at the wheel n drove off a banking with a 100ft drop in a small stream with big boulders everywhere and he never got hurt other than some cuts from broken glass, and the EMS people said it was because he did not brace for the impact and his body was all limp.

38:08 ....let's think this through once more. Someone with much overweight hasn't become that way by eating the right things. Which means they are low/void of nutrition(al value) for quite some time. So now if they take "high dosage" as you say, then they will NOT improve their nutritional status at all! Healing the body unequivocally needs nutrients, especially for someone being deficient for a while, probably even more so than another healthy person. So that means, so far they didn't get nutrition due to what they ate, now they can't get sufficient nutrition even if they try due to how this stuff works. So how do you think they can get to a healthy state? That's right, THEY CAN'T.
There's no place of either the drugs or the peptide as supplement in human nutrition (the peptide exists naturally, no supplementation needed and it will naturally do it's thing if you just eat meat). Transitioning (during a course of 6-8 weeks) into a species specific, species appropriate human diet will provide all the nutrients needed and have healing effects on the body even on things you weren't even aware of. There's no need and no justification for this stuff.

their premise about prisons being for rehab and NOT for profit is wrong. just destroys all their good points. "should" and "is" are very different.

39:21 no, no calories. MASS of food. Calories are heat units. The human body runs on chemical energy, you have an electron transport chain in your mitochondria, your ATP production has nothing to do with heat.

Its obvious yall are from california. Money and effort should be put into education keeing the family together and preventing people committing crime in the first place. Keep them outnof jail first not help them. I said first. Once we are doing the best we can to prevent crime then help those in jail.
