My 05 is special....because it's mine.
Super intel👍👍😎🇺🇸
Incredible information
Phew! Never realized they had so many special addition cars!
That 2012 centennial edition zr1 is perfect. sigh
Nice Video Lyle. In 2007 here in Europe we got the Victory Edition to celebrate Corvette success at Le Mans . Limited to just 250 cars. Available in Coupe only in Black or Yellow. Keep up the good work
Lyle, I'm a detail person, so I don't mind longer video's. Awesome video as usual. I have a C5, but love learning about every generation of Corvette 😃👍 Have a great weekend. Thanks, Lori
Thank you , Lori! Lyle
Great video. I've had my C6 Z06 for about two and a half years and it's still exciting to drive! Keep up the great work
Good job today, Lyle....love the last "real" Corvette body style with round tail lights & nice rounded curves!
The color contrasted headlights look SOOOOO much better than the body match. IMHO of course.
I just got a 2008 ZHZ Corvette, I love it. Thanks for all your information.
Lyle is for real!! Not some fake UA-camr. Sent him an e-mail and replied the next day!! 🙏🙏🙏
Yes he is, I called him and he helped me find a part I needed.
i agree!
I have the 'Centennial Edition' convertible with a manual transmission. Great car. Super fun. Only mods I have done are the Morimoto headlights and an upgrade to the stereo system, even though it had the 'upgraded Bose' option, the stereo wasn't really good. When I put in the stereo and amp, I also installed a rear view camera that was an option for the new stereo. Also have a custom wind restrictor that lights up with a red glow celebrating the CE.
Great breakdown on C6 corvette years. Helps those of us who are looking and don’t have the knowledge of the cars.
Just bought the 107th zhz special edition 2008 c6! I’m loving it
Special car!! Enjoy!!! Lyle
@@cscorvetteify thanks! Hey did they really add anything with the package? I’ve found lots of different info online. Was hoping you’d cover it.
i’m fuckin hyped
Can you do one on special colors, like the one year only color offers?
I enjoy my 2013 427 Collector's Edition. It feels special when I drive it. However, in my experience, very few people seem to know what it is. Most people think it is a Grand Sport that I put 427 badges on...lol. Overall, I love the C6 generation.
Same thing happens to me.
Love your videos, never too long for me., keep them coming !
Great Video Lyle as always. VERY interesting info!! Thanks!
EXCELLENT video!!! Much needed info concerning the C6 which is the best looking Vette since 04. Two special editions are for sale now on Ebay and Auto Trader. Thanks!!
I saw them and they're nice but with a nice $ as well. Too rich for my blood!! Someone will buy them though.
Lyle, your the best.....
Great video, very informative without all the drama some other sites have.
Thank you I’m buying a base now at 21 years old
Love your content!
Hi Lyle....I'm a relatively new owner - C5 - and I enjoy all your videos. Please keep them coming, may I suggest the photos stay on screen 10 seconds or so as you talk in the background. This would allow the viewer more time to absorb/study the vehicle and also give you an on screen breather to look at your script or grab a beer. Cheers.....................murray/vancouver
Great stuff Lyle, Thanks
Nice video!
Perfect analysis! One request, Could you keep the pics up a little longer while describing the model? I found myself backing up to look at things like wheels and stripes. With this and the “Black Book”, it’s all you need to shop.
Excellent vlog, Lyle. Thanks👍
Another awesome video Lyle. I would never touch that Hertz edition C6 for sale and any rental car after it’s done with the rental company. Without a doubt that car was driven like it was stolen ! clutch and transmission was most likely abused.
Very interesting i enjoyed it 👍👍👍
love my 07 ZO6!!
Great podcast
Great vid.
I've got #9 of the 2009 GT1 series!!!
i have the 2008 Pace Car, signed by both Fellows and Fitapaldi. Canadian Car #200. Had it since new but traded it away for a 2016 Stingray but got it back! it’s never leaving me again! I talked to you once about it, had to replace a power seat motor, then had an issue with the convertible top not working, turns out all we had to do was index the windows again!
Very cool! Hold onto her! Lyle
Lyle, I bought a 2013 60th Anniversary 427 Limited Edition model in 2017 as a 60th birthday present for myself. I had wanted a big block Vette since I was 10 and saw a 67 427 Vette in my neighborhood. Ironically, before I bought the 2013, I was onto a 67 427 in Glenwood Green with tan top and interior with only 33000 original miles. The car was for sale at a classic car dealership in Lansdale PA. Unfortunately it was Memorial Day weekend and I wasn't able to get to the dealership to see it and when I called after the weekend to see if it was still available, it was not.
But on my next internet search for a Corvette, I found the one I bought sitting in an Exton PA Nissan dealership showroom only about 25 miles away. It was so strange to walk into the Nissan dealership and see a Corvette sitting in the middle of the floor. It was owned by the dealers used car manager, but he had an opportunity to buy a ZO6 and couldn't afford 2 Corvettes, so he sold it the dealership so he could buy the ZO6. The car is black on black with a black interior with red inserts in the seats. A very striking car.
I've only seen one other 2013 Limited Edition Corvette but it wasn't also the 60th Anniversary edition. You said in the video that 2500 or so of these were made, but I downloaded the Corvette production run for 2013 and to me it looks like only 1186 of the 427 Limited Editions were made and mine was 1 of 190 made in black. I could be off on some of the numbers as it wasn't clear what some of the report coding represented.
I really enjoy your weekly videos and learning about all versions of the Corvette.
Did you replace the heads ? Did you have any engine issues with the ls7 ?
@@JB-ej8zy I have not replaced the heads and have not had any problems with the LS7.
Thanks Lyle. I've been seriously thinking about getting a special edition Corvette 2012-2013 Centennial or 60th anniversary.
Next year the prices might start
dropping. EV's are going to have an impact on car sales. Some people might want to trade a 60th for a 70th anniversary car.
The split spoke silver sparkle wheels first appeared on the 07 pace cars only And were new for the 08 year model as the base no option wheel replacing the old five spoke silver metallic wheels as the base
Thank you again for great info and program.
Great videos , very informative.
What is the best C6 Grand.sport and what trim level ?
Thank you
Great video! Lyle what's your favorite C6? From the video it sounds like the SS Blue Carbon Edition. Thanks for all you do Brother (Doc in Saratoga NY)
Great video Lyle your corvette knowledge is amazing! I sent a follow up from a earlier video about the TPS sensors on my 07 and you mentioned recalibration them with a magnet can you please explain how to accomplish this. Thanks again keep up the great videos.
Pre-Warning & Considerations
If the programming process is cancelled before a new sensor is programmed, or if the vehicle’s battery is disconnected, the RFA module/receiver will retain the vehicle’s current sensor identification codes. As soon as the RFA module learns the first new sensor’s identification code, all previously stored codes are erased from the receiver’s memory.
NOTE: The programming process will be cancelled if any of the following conditions are met:
The programming mode is exited through the Driver Information Center (DIC).
The ignition is turned OFF.
All four sensors have been successfully programmed.
The Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) has been in program mode for longer than 2 minutes and no sensors have been learned.
If the programming process is cancelled with less than four identification codes stored, the RFA module will only accept the codes programmed up to that point.
For the programming process to work properly, each sensor must transmit a unique code in a specific sequence. A strong magnet is used during the process to help transmit the identification codes to the RFA module. When a sensor has successfully transmitted an identification code, the horn will beep once. The IPC will display prompts as each sensor is programmed and signal when to proceed to the next sensor.
NOTE: Make sure the vehicle has been stationary for at least 2 minutes before attempting the programming process.
Programming Procedure
Turn the ignition switch to the ON position. (Engine should be off.)
Press the RESET button on the Driver Information Center (DIC) to clear any Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) warning messages.
Press and release the OPTIONS button on the DIC to cycle through the display options until the IPC display becomes blank.
Press and hold the RESET button until the “FOB TRAINING” message appears.
Press the OPTIONS button once and a “TIRE TRAINING” message will appear.
Press the RESET button once and a “LEARN L FRONT TIRE” message will appear. This message signals the beginning of the programming sequence.
Hold the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) Programming Tool over the valve stem of the left front wheel. When the horn beeps once, programming is complete for the left front wheel ONLY. NOTE: You may have to move the tool around the valve stem to hit the right spot.
After the horn beep, proceed to program the remaining three sensors. You MUST program the sensors in the order directed by the IPC messages.
The order of programming is fairly simple to follow. First, start with the (1) LEFT FRONT WHEEL. Wait for the horn beep. Then, move to the (2) RIGHT FRONT WHEEL. Wait for the horn beep. After, move to the (3) RIGHT REAR WHEEL. Wait for the horn beep. Finally, move to the (4) LEFT REAR WHEEL. Wait for the horn beep.
The programming/reset process has successfully been completed at this point.
@@cscorvetteify thank you so much Lyle for the information. When I get home today I’ll program the sensors, Jason
You have a wonderful viochannel very I'm formative question just bought 2006 C6 convertible that came with KN air filter, exhaust headers and full burlap touring exhaust, how much power increase with this make on stocks LS1 motor. Christopher Ottawa Canada. By way last video on all the special C6 editions was oustanding
I don't have a problem with you running your videos longer.
Thank you Frank! I try to not waste anyone's time...some information is tough to compress and still be relatable. Thanks for watching!! Lyle
Me neither!🤣🤣
@@cscorvetteify I enjoy them all longer the better, and I thank you for the information you provide.
I have a fully built 07 Z06...Had it for four months...Been through 3 fuel pump relays.....Going with a racetronix fuel pump relay wiring kit.....Car has an aftermarket halbro 525 fuel pump.....I'm thinking the stock wiring needs to be replaced....Maybe can't handle the amperage this pump is putting out..
Possibly the case, but I have very little experience with aftermarket high-performance set-ups, so I'm not a great resource on this subject. Lyle
I'm confused. You said the best models to buy were the 1996, 2002, & 2008. Only one is in the Special Edition category.
Hi, congratulations on the videos you make, really very interesting.
I am going to buy a corvette in Italy. I found a Corvette C6 LS2 ZL465 Edition. What do you think of this edition?
Thank you very much.
I am not familiar with the ZL465 Edition personally. I know it was a normal C6 that SLP added long tube headers, custom exhaust, blackwing intake and a tune to. Definitely a faster car than it was born to be! This was NOT a GM edition, but an aftermarket upgrade. Hope this helps. Lyle
@@cscorvetteify Thanks for the reply you were really kind :)
The C6 was rather Viper-like, wasn't it? Of the post-C3 designs, I like the C7 best. The rest I feel kinda "meh" about. Gimme a C1-3 any day!
You mentioned Corvettes at Carlisle. Were you guys there last week?
Steve, the owner of our company, was there, bt I had to stay behind and steer the ship. :) Lyle
Nice video! What makes a Grandsport a Grandsport?
Z06 body kit and brakes, dry sump I think, targa rip still, but LS3
I'm shopping for the 60th anniversary 2013 Z06 and I'm still confused. How can we tell if we have the regular 60th anniversary package in a convertible configuration versus the 427 collectors edition with the 60th anniversary package on top of it?
The 427 Collectors Edition only came in a convertible., and it has 427 on the hood. It is essentially a convertilbe Z06 without the aluminum frame. It was available in all colors, but the 60th anniversary package was also available. Lyle
Outa sight...
Hello Lyle, can you lee me how many 2013 Grand Sport coupes had the 60th Anniversary package and a manual transmission? Do you know of a good website that details build counts for Corvettes?
I don't have numbers that specific at my fingertips, but the National Corvette Museum will. Also, for individual Corvette info using the VIN, Corvette DNA is an excellent (and free) app on your phone. Lyle :)
@@cscorvetteify Thanks for the feedback!!
Arctic white ones with 60th pkg and stripe pkg , they made 80 in manual. 178 in auto
Hi, my name is Dave and I am looking at a 2013 60 year addition grand sport . Today I took it out for a run and was so what surprised at its 25 psi oil pressure at a warmed up idle. While driving stayed between 30 and less than 40 psi. Am I wrong in thinking that this is to low . This is my first venture back into a corvette since the 70’s.
That is not really low. 30-40 during easy driving is normal, and 25 at idle is acceptable, although it may need an oil change soon. Not a worry. Lyle
@@cscorvetteify Thanks for the quick reply. You have eased my mind .
lyle, I own a C6 2005 CORVETTE DO YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH THE ADVISE IN THE WARNING LIGHTS THAT SAYS "SERVICE ACTING HANDLING SYSTEM" . SOMEONE SAID IT COULD BE A CONNCETOR IN THE STEERING WHEEL COLUMN. THANKS A LOT
Could be several things--you need to get the car scanned for codes to begin diggin in the right direction. Lyle
@@lyleaulwurm9486 Thanks Lyle
I have a 327 c.i. engine that came out of a 1963 corvette numbers verified (no heads) engine was running when replaced, does it have any value, or should I scrape it? It's been sitting in my garage for several years.
It has value, but the block stamps and casting numbers will affect it greatly. Lyle
@@cscorvetteify Thank you Lyle, I appreciate it.
You forgot the Chevy Corvette c6rs
What year were they made in? Not the GT1 cars?
2009
@@danielb-c9100 Those were the GT1 Championship cars, done in the C6R livery. I covered them,I promise! :) Lyle
@@cscorvetteify He means the 8 or so special Corvettes made by Pratt & Miller. They weren’t Chevrolet production special editions.
@@Mazak23 Ohhhhh....gotcha. Yeah, I do remember a handful of those being made--I was sticking to regular production Corvettes for this video. The Pratt and Miller cars would be an interesting video on their own, though! Lyle
C6 is a pia to work on compared to a C5 lol
SHOW THE DANG CARS!....I don't care about watching you talk....no offense...and with all due respect... (capital letters are only for emphasis, and not to imply a mean face) Im just tired of the youtube talk to the camera feel. Thx!
Was thinking the same thing. No offense Lyle you have a pretty mug but doesn’t compare to the beautiful vettes.
I really am not being mean here....i like your stuff bro. Maybe too much emphasis...but I've watched guys like SS717 make millions talking to the camera.. and it just gets old. It's like old hot rod mag vs new.... no pics!
