New sun visors: check. Screwdriver: check. Pick: check. Just need the C5 to go with the other parts. Kidding. Thank you. Super helpful!
Lyle and Steve are the best. C&S video tutorials are AA1!! You don't even have to watch their stuff before giving it a like!!
Thanks for the tip on the labels. Headed out to the garage now to remove mine. Got my new visors last week and they look and work great
Just finished it. Lyle, I really appreciate all your vids! Very helpful!
Great demonstration! You made it look very simple. Will be doing mine in the next week. Keeping my fingers crossed mine are just as cooperative 😂
Thanks for this video...replaced mine in 20 minutes
Nice job Lyle
A Million Thanks to Lyle and the C&S crew!
Thanks for this video. My replacement went perfectly. 🏁💪🏼
Thanks Lyle. I was struggling with this. Was way more simple than I was trying to make it.
Just got my visors for Christmas. They are so much better it's crazy! Thanks man
This was super helpful Lyle. I now have brand new sun visors in my 2000 and it took minutes to install because of you.
Love the no-sticky label.
Lyle, your instruction is always beyond compare and the products you use and sell and/or recommend to us to buy fall into the same category! Thank you so much. Save the Wave 🙋♂
Hey Lyle! I just installed the new (shale color) visors that you sent. They are perfect, and your instructions were very helpful. Keep up the great work, and thank you!
Got mine installed in five min. tops. Thanks Lyle for another excellent product.
Lyle , this video was right on time. I was just about ready to buy a set of stock sun visors when I saw your video on how poorly they're produced. I ordered a set from your shop and installed them the other day and I gotta say they are everything that you said they are. Thanks
I had watched this video and read the comments before I ordered the sun visors. I'm a skeptic by nature, so I even called C&S and Lyle assured me it was as easy to replace them as it looked. He also said if I had any problems just let him know. I'm not particularly mechanically inclined, but my wife and I replaced the LH sun visor in about 3 minutes. Thought, "Hmm. That was easy." Then I moved to the RH visor. Two things were obvious. First, it had been replaced previously. Second, whoever did it had not watched Lyle's video. The visor assembly was not attached to the trim bezel properly, there was a gap between the assembly and the bezel which had been filled in with what I believe was silicone. After finally getting the old visor off and removing the bezel it took just a few minutes to get the new visor on. Thanks Lyle!!
Tim, I'm happy that you were able to overcome someone else's poor craftsmanship and that you are happy with the visors!! Lyle :)
Great tutorial on replacing sun visors! I learn something with every video you post... which goes against the rumor about teaching old dogs. Thanks!
You're the man! probably 3 minutes per side on the install! these are crazy good quality and the labels come right off.
I bought these visors about a month ago and just installed them. They are the best out there (I have tried others).
Don t wste your money on any others. These are a great value.
Hello !!! I just install those wonderful new and improved sunvisors and boy let me tell you !!! im so happy they change the look completly to a cleaner and better interior , before the old ones make a lot of noise and i was afraid of somebody trying to use them because it may fall right off
Incredibly helpful video. Installed new visors in my 2000 Corvette today. Old ones were raggedy and cracked. New ones make a surprisingly significant improvement in the look of the interior. Thanks so much for your help!
Excellent!! Lyle
My C5 will need these eventually.
Thank you for the demonstration Lyle. (:
Great video! I followed along step-by-step and was able to replace my sunvisors.
I received my upgraded shale sun visors today. This video helped with the installation process. Thanks Lyle, the visors look great. I can't really see the slight color difference.
Thanks. Just ordered mine Tuesday.
I will get to ordering them. They are on my to do list.
Thanks as always!
Picked a set up after the previous video, they’re very worth the upgrade. My old cardboard visors were floppy and the mirrors would fall out in front of my face.. super dangerous. Thanks for the quick shipping, Lyle!
Thank you for your business! Lyle
Just what I needed to get the visors in. Thanks.
Great video!! Thank you so much. You made the install so easy. Love❤
Thank you so much, you helped me feel confidant enough to do it myself and not have to shovel out $$ $ to some one else.
Thank you! Literally 5 min/side.
Thanks Lyle!!
Fantastic! Mine is busted. I'll be ordering from your website. Thanks Lyle!
Great overview...thank you!
Thanks for the video!
HI. I bought the visors, and did have some trouble figuring out how to do it. The detail I needed was how to do the passenger side. Which way that one turned to release it. Very nice visors.
I have the same question.
The drivers side visor clip turns counter clockwise to release. The passenger side turns clockwise. Described another way, they both turn toward the outside of the vehicle to loosen. Insert the little. Screwdriver, and use the visor frame to turn them, turning each side to the outside of the car. I hope that helps.
@@nworbydnar Thanks... she wasn't budging, and I didn't want to go full-force until I knew 100% which way to go.
Excellent. Thank you
Perfect! Thank you!!
Invaluable video.
Ordered a set and installed in minutes because old ones were junk and remove mid summer. These seem to be a huge improvement
Nicely done
You are the man!
You are Awesome! Thanks
Enjoyed the yideo.Well done.
Nice thank's for the video !
Lyle love the video btw 👍👍
Thank you
Put the same exact ones in my C5. I had to put a little touch of Vaseline in the clip as it squeaks a little, from the tighter than stock connection
Hey Lyle, we’re you able to get the Shale-colored ones yet?
I am anxiously awaiting the day when shale ones are available. Don't care what they cost
Aloha Lyle, Mahalo for the instruction. Just today, I got so fed up with my floppy psycho visor from hell on the passenger side, I ripped the entire mirror off the material hoping I was going to just take the entire visor off. ahahahahahahahah, but now it's clear as day I need to order a couple of these anyway as the drivers side, is like a weird purple color and not black , thanks to the dearlership here on Maui, HI. Not sure how much these are that you're selling, but I do need 2 of them. : ( C5's are awesome to drive, but the most finicky ride I've ever owned. LOL
LYLE!!! You and Steve would be instant millionaires....IF you could find someone to make a reproduction steering sensor and/or a reproduction EBCM!!! I'm sure you know that already! PLEASE-SOMEONE out there has to be able to do this!!!
What tool do you need to remove the screw from the clip that holds the sunvisior
what tool do you need to remove the screw on the clip that holds the sunvisor on
Hello! I’ve ordered a new sun visor clip but don’t have the size screw I need to screw it in. Do you know what size that is?
if it extended or slid when on the side it would be perfect!. these are on my list :)
You guys headed to bloomington gold next weekend? If so see you there.
Anyone know how to install the plastic bezel trim mount on the visor shaft? My visor was replaced 4 years ago and still in good shape but the plastic bezel he put the screw driver into has broken. They’re $17 for that clip but I cant figure out how to get the old one off and the new one on.
helpful, but for me installation was more difficult.
5:20 you didnt show using a screwdriver right here, but to attach mine, i had to rotate the sun-visor back towards the windshield, then use the screwdriver to lock the mounting tab in place back towards the windshield as well, since my visor was moving independently of the tab
2nd thing, if the round mounting clip comes out, it has to be put back in the correct orientation, otherwise the visor will set 1/3 turned to one side, in my case, the visor would rotate freely between the windshield and rest, but would not rotate towards the door without unlocking itself instantly,
My orientation happened to be the rounded side towards the a/pillar+windshield
Nothing shady going on here. 😂. Great instructions and look forward to replacing when the time comes.
The visors clip is giving me issues. I have try many tools to get the bolt out with no luck. What is going on here? this little sucket bolt screw is really driving me crazy. You say you have them in stock, i do have some to replace them, but what am I missing here? Thank You with any help and direction you could give me...
I still can't seem to get the left hand side to click in, it just doesn't seem to have enough rotation before hitting the windshield. Any suggestions?
Hey guys, trying to replace my visors that I purchased from Lyle and cannot get past step 1 on either side. I've tried a few different sized flat blade screwdrivers to no avail. I'm inserting the screwdriver into the slot and rotating the visor outward/toward the window. Before I get fully outboard the screwdriver hits the arm of the visor.
I've now butchered the little slot cutout and marred up the visor arm (that will hopefully be going in the garbage when I get done).
'98 C5 Coupe
Any help would be appreciated.
I had the same problem on the drivers side. You need to exert some downward pressure on the arm as you turn it outboard.
Looked like there was a lot of moisture inside that windshield frame. Now I’m going have to take mine apart just to see in mine is retaining moisture! 😬
Stupid comment but if I get the cheap version that has a habit of the vanity light cover falling off and light stays on draining the battery can't you just not connect the light plug and not run into the problem?
Far out & cool 😎...
How do you remove one on a c6? I tried this but it did not work for me
Lyle, is this procedure the same for a 2005 C6? Thank you for any help!🙂
Nope---different set-up in the C6. Lyle
Lyle, I can't find a definitive answer for the removable of the C6 sunvisor, you have any tips? Thank You
How much pressure needs to be applied to get these out. It seems like I am applying a lot of pressure and it's not moving. Don't want to break something. Thanks.
It shouldn't require a great deal of pressure...use the end of the sunvisor as a lever and gently (but firmly) rotate it out toward the side window with the screwdriver held firmly in place. Lyle
Hi, I'm looking for a seat for a 2000 Corvette C5
Ok, how much of the seat are you looking for? Call us at the shop to discuss your needs. Lyle 800-886-5064
Just get a visor delete kit. For years I drive without it in sunny south Florida. Don’t need a visor. Takes too much space. Especially when you remove the targa top.
What is the cost for 2 new C5 Sun visors?
$149 shipped in the USA
I took my junk visor's out and just deleted them --- corvetteclips make some nice plugs that fit the holes perfect and look good
Mine is broken off by the metal part and it’s hard to move
Send me pictures of what you are seeing . lyle@corvettepartscenter.com.
What if new visors were installed, but the Auto dimmer on the rear-view mirror and the map lights don't work
That would be a first in my experience. I would recommend unplugging the visors and see if the rearview mirror changes its behavior. It is possible that a fuse has popped. Do the lights on the visors work? Lyle
@@cscorvetteify No, the map lights don't work either
And the vanity lights on the visors don't work either.
@@stevekrafchak7957 Then we definitely have a fuse issue. It should be the #2 (10 amp) fuse located under the passenger side upper floor. This fuse controls courtesy lights on mirror, underhood light and I believe the glove box light. There are spares in either fuse box.
@@lyleaulwurm9486 Thanks Lyle, I'll check it out. I've only had this 2003 Vette for 4 weeks and the dealer has not been as helpful as they should be. They mentioned a harness that might be needed. Which is confusing to me since the old beat-up visors worked ok and all that was done was replace them.
The damn plug won’t come out..
Ok I got it out.. what a pita..
@@do5e Glad you got it out... just saw this message. you sometimes have to support the visor near the mounting point and root around up in the mount with your finger to free up the plug, and it sounds like you figured that out! Lyle :)
Thank you so much for this tutorial. . . got it done in no time with your help!
