Took me a long time to find them, but I have! It’s honestly amazing and i hope you do so too ❤
A network of ppl like this is super easy to build bro
i attend a bible study on Monday nights that is very reminiscent of this group.
There are typically 5 to 7 of us and we are mostly from different denominations, even one catholic guy, and we go back and fourth on biblical topics just like this.
This is what a real bible study looks like.

I would have gladly been indentured to someone that would fed me, house me, and taught me when I was a young man. Many times I had to steal food and clothing when I would have rather worked. It took me years before I learned enough to do something well enough to get paid.

So under the conditions of the bible you'd be happy for me to own you as my property and you not be free to leave?
Cmon, you're advocating slavery and trying to make it sound like something else
Except human rights..... Good thing we can't support each other with nothing in return. I'm sure that was the christ message, be the legal slave of another with little to no rights, not to support the downtrodden so no one is forced into theft. Also I have been homeless and never had to steal so I feel bad that poverty corrupted your morals, you sound like you do need a magic man to tell you right and wrong.
This is what Islam teachings, being servant of God means you are Freed from Human's slavery.
These topics are part of the Bible you don’t see often in contemporary churches and teachings. And I love it! I will pay for the subscription
I am planning to work in Canada God willing, one main reason is I want to meet or see Dr. Jordan in person and if I can get a good luck I want to ask him about what makes him stick to the truth and would give appreciation to him.
I'd love to see this group have a glass of wine afterwards, and see where the conversation leads
As the text explains, Moses walked with God as a friend. Indeed, man's highest calling, is to become a loyal champion and friend of God. There is no separation. All is simultaneously.of and within God.
I thank God For These Series. Amen ✝️🇱🇻
Some have said Bishop Barron ought to have been included. I would've liked that, though I strongly disagree with his Vatican II Catholicity. From the Protestant perspective--though I do not hold to "Sola Fide"--it would've been great to have seen men like N.T. Wright and Dr. Michael L. Brown here.
The law about if the master gives a slave a wife he is to leave it behind indicates that the reason for this is that the wife and kids to come are the sole responsibility of the master and he is to be their primary carer and provider and that if the slave were to decide to leave that would indicate that he had no loyalty to his wife and children and therefore if he left he potentially would not be in a position where he could support his wife and children and hence place them at risk of homelessness and poverty and therefore would damage the family structure by not being able to care provide or support his family effectively and hence that’s why they were to remain in the masters house it wasn’t that they were his property as some think but rather God knows ultimately what is best for the wife and children and for their future
Indentured slavery is what every employee who has a mortgage of some sort is in modern times
Oh that's right!
The slave masters had to cloth and feed their slaves , economic slaves have to cloth and feed them selves, we are all slaves, to the corporations contract laws so how has slavery changed it didn't it grew to corporations under governments who have commitments only to corporations, who have economic slaves, who house and feed themselves, under maritime admiralty law, as well as uniform commercial code law, we are all under contracts slave contracts believing we are free to go and come as we please thats not true and we know it.
But they're free to leave and they're not owned as property.
Like the bible describes

Ephesians 6:5-8 Paul states, “Slaves, be obedient to your human masters with fear and trembling, in sincerity of heart, as to Christ” which is Paul instructing slaves to obey their master. Trying to understand on a deeper level the meanings of Old Testament, will lead eventually to miss conception, because taking out the feelings, emotions, culture the way that they saw things on that time, the fact that they were on a daily basis surrounded by supernatural events , the way that the rituals have passed to generations and so much details that there is no way that can be understood now on our time is easy to think from “outside” , the reality definitely is way different, not to mention the translations during all this time, the way every person is telling from a different perspective, this makes even more hard to actually get it right , on those times they used simple words with more meanings, now we have a huge vocabulary and we like to split a phrase in 10k words (makings a lot of non sense) and “unfortunately “ the human nature when is trying to collect an insane amount of information and trying to figure out “the origin of the Seed” in the end will lead to madness and confusion… there are some things that simply are not meant to be understood and some things doesn’t really help us on our journey through life…we have a tendency to over complicate things, when all is good and we are not suffering…
”curiosity” - such a interesting trait in humans, the desire to know everything about everything

Is the body a slave to the Soul/I Am/Self/Atman?
There's a paradigm shift in self image that is expressed in a short yogic type parable:
One yogi asks an older yogi, "What is the difference between us?"
The older yogi responds, "You still see yourself as a body with a Soul, and I am the Soul, with a body."
______
The same question from a Soul & Body point of view:
It being subject to the laws of the Universe slavery to the Universe?
Everything we are is our body fundamentally. Without a healthy body the spirit is sick.
The soul and body are subject to the laws of the universe. Just like anything else. But we do not call ourselves slaves to the elements of wind, fire and water like all other things are. Being subjected to, does not equal being enslaved too

How can Larry Arnn say that “it’s not everybody’s law” (7:41) and these laws are “just for this people?” (8:20) … when the covenant was entered into “also for those who are not here today?” Dt. 29, etc.
I agree with you.
Exodus 12:49
One law shall be for the native-born and for the stranger who dwells among you.
Many other places it says the Hebrews are a light unto the Nations. This implies the Nations should worship the same God by living out the same Law.
Also see Isaiah 56:6-8.
Larry arnn’s argument is what the homosexuals use to excuse Leviticus’ command that homosexuality it a sin. The Bible clearly states that the surrounding nation of the entire world are judged by the same rules as the hebrews.

How man year of servitude did u do
That setting free the slaves was Reserved for people of theirs. From among the Hebrew and Jew. No other people were included. You let them pull you away from what you were saying. So they lie. You helped.
As in modern times the man often walks out on his wife and children in those times God prevented this from happening and if the man still decided to walk out and be free he was too loose his family as a result of his selfishness and irresponsibility so God provided a way that the wife and children were not going to be left stranded by such a man
Statistically it's not the man that leaves, at least not of his own will.
Can you show me your statistic source?
The man tends to walk out on his family if they are married or not
@@thetruthwillsetyoufree6088 Then why are upwards of 70% of divorces initiated by women?
Also, and while this might be anecdotal: as a well educated and well employed dude, of ALL of the male coworkers/friends I have known who had kids and were divorced, none left their families. They were kicked out or she just left as it was the woman who ran off to have fun.
In the one and only case that was sort of otherwise, the woman had bipolar and was abusive, and my (male) friend spent several 10s of thousands of dollars in court to keep custody in the divorce he was initiating, which was a lot of money for a early mid twenty something in the mid 2000s. It probably would have been wasted money as the courts almost always side with the mother regardless, but she was actually bad enough to lose. Although it still cost him a ton to fight it out. He thinks it was worth it though.
I do know of cases where the guy ran out, but it was no friends of mine and it was entirely predictable, and a small minority of cases. For example there was a girl at my church when I was a teen in the 90s that my parents and hers obviously thought would be matched. She however (along with most of the girls there when I was that age), preferred gangsters footballers and drug dealers, and was friendly to me at church but rude beyond belief at school. She got pregnant by a totally worthless dude that her parents tried everything to keep her away from somewhere between 15 and 17 (don't remember precisely). Only a couple years later her dude was in prison for statutory, after one of the other girls he subsequently knocked up was under age.
Meanwhile I went to college to get good grades in STEM, and the predictable consequences befallen the pretty girl that was consistently rude and two faced with me in order to sleep around with a scumbag behind her parents back wasn't something that was going to keep me up at night. Play stupid games, win stupid prises.

There are those that serve other people. Great for servants who seek a master on Earth.
There are those that demand service. Great for masters who seek servants on Earth.
There are those that choose to neither serve themselves, nor the others on this Earth, that deem that none on Earth is higher than another.
Who do they serve ?
I think they are forgetting how horrendous slavery is and was
I think their confusion is stemming from the Greek word "Doulos" that is used in the early Bible, a word that can mean slavery or laborer/servant. One who is a "Doulos tou Theou" is a servant of God, but not property owned by God with no Will of one's own. One serves God by directing one's Will to be in accordance with the Good and Beautiful of God's Will. A Doulos owned by people is a slave without the freedom to exercise one's own Free Will.
The word slave and employee can be interchangeable
That’s handy for isn’t it

the Talmud says : acquiring a hebrew slave is like acquiring a master for yourself. The treatment laws show this. Feeding the slave before yourself is one instance showing its not such a simple dynamic

Do not be afraid to admit what slavery is , do not be afraid to confront it and what it may mean. What does it mean if he loves his wife and children but not his master , who is the slave his wife and children to God in contrast to the Master and his familiy ? How far does God love extend to his creation , is it limited ? Is it possible for a victim to love the one that victimizes him ? Did some the Isrealites love Egypt ?
"When a man strikes his slave, male or female, with a rod and the slave dies under his hand, he shall be avenged. But if the slave survives a day or two, he is not to be avenged, for the slave is his money. Ex 21:20-21" Slavery is slavery, if a man has a right to hit you and injure you, we are talking about tyranny, if a slave is his master's money, we are talking about tyranny, you can say whatever you want about the "good treatment" of slaves, tyranny is tyranny in all ages, "we all must serve somebody" is an excuse to not pay people what they deserve in order to make a profit from their work.
By mutual agreement (covenant) weren't all of Israel servants of God? And God held them to it.
But this was a means to an end, as God 's intention was indeed to rule over all the earth. THAT rule would not be a master/servant relationship as covenanted with Israel, but as friends (John 15:15). This friendship was described within a new covenant-that between a husband and wife (Eph. 5)-Moses' original relationship with God. (Moses clearly bonded with God before the law was spelled out-and weren't they at times like an "old married couple" with their negotiating?). Israel-at-large did not want that relationship. “Speak to us yourself and we will listen. But do not have God speak to us or we will die,” they told Moses (Ex. 20:19). So the people, though originally invited to the tent of meeting, where "anyone" could inquire of the Lord, worshiped from their own tents. And only Moses and Joshua are named as entering.

I am a huge fan of Jordan, but I don't understand why he doesn't have a Torah scholar in the conversation. I mean, he is reading out of the Torah written and translated into English. I have heard Jordan say that he reads posts. It is not likely, but please bring on Rabbi Akiva Tatz if you read this post. He will give an unparalleled understanding of verses like this.

No one is a slave to God, that's the entire reason this earth is sinful, because we have the choice to follow or not to follow God. Obviously Adam and Eve chose not to, so here we are in this increasingly wicked world. People claim the Bible is just a non-divine attempt at explaining why evil exists, but we continue to see the world growing constantly more evil the less we obey God (or the Bible, if you want to just look at it secularly).
“We have the money, the power, the medical understanding, the scientific know-how, the love and the community to produce a kind of human paradise. Well said gentlemen.
The democratization of sovereignty is akin to the “seed of the kingdom” which unfolds from within.
Truly, these seeds have been sown in the heart of man - which connects with the idea of receiving Christ as the Son (seed).

Adoption controversy. Elipand, Archbishop of Toledo, and Felix Bishop of Urgel (in the 8th century), maintained that Christ in his human nature was the son of God by adoption only (Rom. viii, 29), though in his pre-existing state he was the “begotten Son of God” in the ordinary Catholic acceptation. The adoptionists were condemned by the Council of Frankfurt in 794.
Interesting. Slavery for the Israelites was not the kind of slavery that Black people experienced. Even the prophet Daniel was technically a slave of the Babylonian king, but he was a high ranking one and had his own house, so presumably he was getting a salary of some sort.
Let me tell you something about God, he doesn't want slaves, willing or otherwise. In actual fact he holds a perfected image of each individual so that at any moment your liberation can begin, it is merely a matter of time with your free will being the catalyst.

The number of intellectual twists and turns people are willing to make to avoid simple truths is always sort of fascinating. I think that being considered a servant is a holy position, I also believe that God does not have slaves directly: instead he offers a path towards social betterment through teaching people to be graceful. Working for God means you willingly chose to work for him, although despite that, sometimes it might appear coercive in nature as working for God is the best way to save yourself from the devil, and people who are under attack from the devil often are the ones who take up burdens in good favor with God, but you should also recognize that God is not the one who orders such evil beings: they act on the devil's behalf, so it is not God coercing them exactly. Anyone who turns to God and receives his blessings is only bettered from serving God so long as they act gracefully. Edit: while many people who work towards the favor of God are running from the devil, they are not the only ones who would serve God*
I'm screenshoting this. I need the reminder from time to time. My grace sometimes feels it's running on fumes, but it's not. My stubbornness is full tank.
What exactly is this thing you refer to as God?
What is God?
@@crazyprayingmantis5596 There are many definitions of the word God and people are not all in agreement on them, I refer to the Catholic-Christian variant

@@crazyprayingmantis5596 I'm sorry but I don't want to spout the entire history of the Judeo Christian God for a youtube post, there are far better ways for me to spend my time (If you really want to know more look it up, the stuff is all over youtube and the internet)
It's quite clear that the bible had no problem with people owning other people as property.

I live in service to family & friends first. The overall “society” is kind of lame tbh. Ready for 🔥
We all do. The trick is to see "overall society" as an extended family. We have a lot of lost brothers and sisters who need help out there...

The Bible isn’t about materialistic or 5 senses feeled world. So Moses, Abraham, Yaakov etc aren’t real individuals. Neither it’s a story book. Everything is an analogy of the spiritual events inside each persons spiritual path. One can understand this when studying Kabbalah wisdom (which is the inner truth of the Torah). Otherwise it is just a moral book.
CONFOUND IT! DENISE is very convincing. Even I, an atheist, I find the Exodus (series of JP's discussion, not the book) just a masterpiece. I wish I didn't become an atheist.
What’s wrong with being honest about life? You can learn all the lessons of mythology without “believing” in things you know are not real.
