  • Aquaterrarium is a combination of conventional terrariums and aquariums. On top there’s a rainforest, below there’s an aquarium. This aqua-terrarium, also called a paludarium , is very popular with biotope enthusiasts. With it you can simulate riverbank zones, landscapes with waterfalls and water holes very authentically.

      A lot of scapers use foam. Especially the Chinese scapers and have done for years. Serpa Designs, MD Fishtanks and MD Aquascaping too lol

    So awesome as usual! Love love ferrets we had a black footed ferret (big boy)in our 20’s he was the love of our life. I would put nylons on and he would grab my leg and rip them then run and make that lil chirping sound.

    I know its different everywhere but like is there a hack on actually aquiring this spray foam as i live in canada . It seems like a specialty item all i can seem to find is the pond stuff for an extremly steep price .

    Your creations are beautiful, I have so much respect for you and your talent. I'm trying my hand at aquascaping and would like to give expanding foam a try...but, I'm having a problem finding it or even with what kind is it.     Beautiful setup! ❤️❤️ Just wondering if this setup can be used to house vampire crabs? Looking at some design that I can house fishes, shrimps, cpo and vampire crabs in one setup

      If you want vampire crabs I'd recommend a closed terraium with a water feature. They are escape artists and can climb almost anything.

    This is an amazing creation! I can't imagine how difficult it would be to clean algae build up. Do you just scrub with a tooth brush?

      Change the water regularly so there won't be a lot of algae.

    Is the water pump also the filtration system? Or do you recommend putting a sponge filter or other internal filter on this kind of set up?

      I use biofiltration and regular water changes every week.

    A question: How do you keep the foam structure from floating up? I know if I drop expanding waterproof foam into my pond (by accident), it will not sink. I would think that a foam 'mountain' would rise when submerged.

    I'd like to know how long do you wait for the silicone to cure when gluing the structure to the aquarium. In my experience the silicone wasn't hard enough after 48h. It melted and the structure started to float 😢

      If you've had problems with silicone not curing properly in the past, double-check that you are using an aquarium-safe silicone and follow the manufacturer's recommendations closely.

      To water the plants, I have implemented a drainage system for proper water management. Each plant has a well-draining substrate, and the terrarium is designed with a layer of drainage material at the bottom.

      It says in the video but it’s superglue. Any sort of cyanoacrylate glue will do but super glue is the easiest and usually aquarium/terrarium/vivarium safe. They do also make special superglues for placing animals such as anemones or live plants if you would rather go out of your way to get that but regular superglue works just as well. You could always use aquarium grade silicone but that usually takes some time to cure and is really difficult to use on wet/damp items such as moss. Hope this helps!

    Setting up Vampire Crab and wild betta tank. Making it 20% land Substrate. But with floating land parts and bridges. Any ideas of how to do this?

      Use driftwood, cork bark, or rocks to create floating land parts. Ensure they are securely anchored to prevent shifting or instability.

    I used the exact foam but when it's cured it has a really heavy plastic smell and is sticky when touch. When I put it in the water, the water also got the smell. Is this safe for fish and aquatic animals?
