- IT DIDN'T GO AS PLANNED! so we ended up with an EPIC OFF GRID FAIL :(
PLUS; Dolly has MORE CHICKS, we have 1000's of strawberries AND other off grid jobs.
ANOTHER CRAZY BUSY WEEK ON OUR HOMESTEAD!
We are living OFF GRID with NO mains electricity, NO mains water or sewage. Can we build our dream life homesteading?

Here’s a little tip for your block filter just keep a old toothbrush for cleaning the filters out 👍

Thanks, was frustrating especially as the more tender red nana are fine! Think the issue was the type so will be trying different varieties till we crack it 🙏

Your microphone was very muffled in this video. Do you intend to cover your totes so they don't grow alge?
New camera with a rubbish mic, but it's super fast to use rather than setting up the proper mics. And makes no difference on the ibc. 4 are covered and just as much. But not bothered by the algae. We fill and empty the 8 garden ones twice weekly in the summer

I am not trying to equate two different situations however coming from South Afrrica and Cape Town specifically there was a huge water situation about two years ago....now I cringe when I see a tap running for the sole purpose of cleaning of vegetables etc. We used to take a max of two minute showers so you wet, close the tap, wash and quickly rinse...as for watering gardens this was a no no so we used to collect as much grey water as possible to water the few plants we loved...water is such a valuable resource and truly not appreciated accordingly...thnx for sharing and wish you well
Thanks for sharing and very true. Generally water in many places especially town /city folk in the uk eu etc.... Is, taken for granted.
