I think that ‘anubias lookalike’ plant you mentioned is a lobelia cardinalis! They’re pretty uncommon, but they do great in moderate light without co2. Clearly loving your tank!
No, it's a crypt still in its emersed state.
Wouldn't you want the water going through the coarse sponge, then fine sponge, then the finest, the floss so as not to clog up the floss with the larger particles?
i would do Course, /medium and then fine
Could I do this in a Lowe's bucket on a much smaller scale? Or a trash can...? The tank is 75 gallons and I don't feel like I need anything this large. I'm brand new

Hey mate thanks for watching. That’s awesome nice size tank. It’s up to you really mate all depends what bottom feeding fish you keep. In my clowns loach tanks I don’t ever have to. Hope this helps cheers mick.
@@MicksFishUk yes mate, thanks for the advice 😁 I'm putting my 3 oscars in there and a peacock bass with an albino pleco, 2 bristle noses and a blue lobster pair. It's possibly still going to be a little overstocked but it's the biggest tank I can fit atm. I'd started playing with aquaponics with some pothos and bits and bobs from the tank too so I'll set that back up when we move. Thanks again 😁🤘
Is it okay to use sump filter on planted tank?
Hi Bro! You have utilised too much space of your cabinet for sump. Better try for raceway system for sump. Using acrylic partition too would help you in maintaining your cleaning purpose! It's not critics, It's for your next level and coming out of the box. Enjoy your work.

What return pump you using ?
Filter socks would be even quicker,I run a a somewhat similar set up but use felt filter socks, I've three of them so I rotate and then its easy to wash them.
Filter socks suck. You need to constantly clean those suckers out. Just use sponges and floss for mechanical.

Would be interesting to see how high the water level would go in the sump if you cut the power to the pump. The outflow is rather high but your sump water level is rather low.
I cut the power every week to do the maintenance. Could fit another 35 litres in the sump when the weir empties. Is a must to check if you are running sumps
Why not put the pollyfil under the foam pads???
I tried that mate prefer it this way and this way u can tell how dirty the filter wool is 👍🏻

Have your clown loaches ever had white spot? If so how did you treat them?
Years ago mate I did 20% water change every day for 2 weeks and it went never had it again hope this helps

@@GTspongebob bump your temp up in the tank to 80 but make sure the water is well oxygenated still then you need to go get a white spot treatment make sure to take out any activated carbon out your filter though as this will just filter out any medication you put in hope this helps
