- TAIPEI, Taiwan - China represents the world's number one challenge of the 21st century. That warning comes from the head of America's Office of Naval Intelligence as the Communist nation builds its military might across the Pacific.
The tiny island of Taiwan finds itself in Beijing's crosshairs with continued signs of a possible Chinese invasion. In August, the Chinese military sent a loud wakeup call to the United States and allies in the region with a massive, unprecedented drill simulating a blockade of Taiwan.
"It crossed multi thresholds, and that hasn't happened in decades," Dr. Alexander Huang of Tamkang University told CBN News from his office in Taiwan's capital city

I suspect the same. That whole region is likely to blow up. A strategic strike against Japanese, South Korean assets and a massive troop movement seems like one way. Someone from the Eastern collective would have to bog down the US military somewhere. Taking Japan out the equation would be the first chess move.
I think once a big enough move there may also be a large strike into the US from the Southern Americas.
My understanding is the US can sustain a three front war which is partly there strategies. But nobody ever stayed alive long in a world war with two fronts.
Europe could be bogged down with the middle east helping Russia. Its just whether the industrial supplies can match that demand.

If US survives the Second Paciic war with only 3000 fatal casualties, I would be astonished, the first Pacific war cost far more than that. So far the parallels between the lead up to the 1st war and the 2nd have been uncanny, so I would expect the Second Pacific War to proceed much like the first one did. It will involve vast expanses of the Pacific, not just the East China Sea, and could go south as far as Australia, just like the first one did.

US main focus is in war making and creating conflicts - a country that acts very insecure in many ways and always in need of a new enemy. If you've been paying attention, the US record in foreign intervention of the last 30 years should give you pause.

There is one thing that puzzles me. The US does not send troops to fight in the Ukraine-Russia conflict, why will it send troops to engage in the Taiwan-China conflict?? With being said, I do see the same way external forces are shaping this would-be conflict in the Taiwan strait. We want peace not wars.
