- The Byrna Shield on its surface is an extremely versatile backpack that is adaptable to fit seamlessly into environments from the office, to the trail, and everything in between. The Byrna Shield holds one very important feature however, the rapidly deployable ballistic molle front panel. Deployable using only one-hand, this gives the wearer bullet resistant protection on both their front, as well as covering their 6 with a ballistic panel that remains in the pack; and the Molle webbing on the front panel allows the user to customize their set up.
The Byrna Shield has a padded laptop pocket and two additional zippered compartments capable of carrying an array of daily necessities. The Shield also comes with interchangeable side panels which allow the user the ability to go from from a covert look, to attaching the included molle panels, increasing the utility of the pack.
Each Byrna Shield also comes with a trauma response bleeding control kit capable of treating serious wounds, and also comes with two BladeTech Molle Lok strips, allowing the user to attach hundreds of different holsters and pouches to the Shield platform, assuring they are always prepared for any situation.
Several NIJ Rated ballistic panel options are also available, providing a range of protection from common pistol rounds in the 3A variant, up to common rifle rounds like those used by AR-15’s and the AK series of rifles in the 3A+ variant.

I receved an e-mail with the add of the the new backpack and i thought it just protected the back side of a person. But when i saw the video I was surprised on how quickly it assembled in the front, ready for action and protection. Everyone should get one specially for your teen age kids in school.

This backpack is a really really cool idea especially for the craziness that's going on in the world now. I would really like to see more details about this backpack and it's storage etc with inside of it. Plus if this backpack system could be set up so that way you can carry your burner m4 style rifle in it that would be super cool

Maybe someone can clarify this, the pouch the vest is in, is that a separate compartment? Because it almost looks like you need to have the bag partially opened at all times.
We see the front plate system deployed easily. How is it to fold and stuff back into place when you are finished with it?
That is as 'unimportant' as the deployment is to being 'important'!
I wouldn't care it took 20min to stuff it back in!
Looks like you would likely have to take off the pack to do a good repack, but I think if you don't mind a short struggle, you could get it stuffed back in while standing and done within a couple minutes.

As usual Byrna doesn't include stuff they say is included. It looks used and does not have the mole strips for the sides. At a $500 price tag Id think they could do a better job.

No reason you can't also have a hip holster. Im assuming this would be for moments that you have those extra few seconds like an active shooter situation. Still quicker than lugging around a plate carrier in your vehicle and having to run for it.
