Virtual Riot has been one of my biggest idols ever. All throughout school I've been listening to his music, watching his streams, looking at his old studio time videos, and just trying to wrap my head arround his work. Well, I failed big time. From my lack of concentration, funds, and musical understandings. In all of this, I have been preparing to make a big step in my life that is religious, but (in essence) feels like I'm giving up everything I once knew to help others. I am nearing that day, and have felt super disappointed in my efforts, and lack of knowledge in how he makes such great music. I was stuck in this mind set until now that I've found this video. I was quite literally brought to tears seeing how you guys laid it all out. I know that it is dramatic, but his music has been the only music I truly connect with, Lunar especially. Any other artists of the same genres don't cut it. So I appreciate this video and all those who support Virtual Riot's work. I hope anyone who reads this that has a similar passion for anything else, will strive to achieve what they desire. Don't let anything small stop you. Btw, my lack of funds shouldn't have stopped me like they did, I just used it as an excuse to feel sorry for myself, and now I'm here.
“Just rename the effects rack to phat rack and bam it will magically convert into VR’s rack filled with-“ and then my screen went black with no audio and I spent the next 10 seconds thinking it was a joke until I realized that my phone had died...
You know what’s funny I was listening to VR in the bus this morning and thought “Man what if Dylan uploaded a VR tutorial that would be pretty dope.” Started dying of laughter at the end of my biology class when I got the notification for this video
2:21 i know this is 2 months ago but how does no one point out that Dylan changed the German Engineering EP artwork into some Lightning McQueen thing... Lmao thats genius 😂😂
the funniest thing happened when i first saw this video. i had an excursion to the university in münster during high school like 10 years ago and went to the music faculty. we got shown stuff there, and there was this one dude who tried to give in his CD for the lecturer to review, but he refused to take it. so i talked to him and he gave it to me instead. when i got home, i heard it and really liked it, too bad i forgot his name and we didn't exchange anything so i couldn't find more of his stuff. listening to it every now and then over the following time. then 8 years later, this video came out, i was watching it in the morning in the train, on my way to university. then 0:34 happened, and i really lost my shit bc this was the first track on the CD the dude gave me! i had been listening to VR already for some time and so when this came and when i realized who the dude was all along, it hit me like a truck. i had a really hard time keeping it together in between all those commuters, haha. thinking about this moment is still giving me goosebumps.
I literally cried during the final track, while headbanging and holding my headphones with both hands. A m a z i n g video, loved it! thank you for doing sharing all this
I know VR did a lot of streams where you can see the way he makes all of those sounds. But THIS sounds so close to what he does, even in the mixing, that's quite impressing. Nice job dude that's insane :)
Such an awesome video and track. I’m actually in a music theory class rn and your explanation of how you could tell that his songs are in A minor was super super helpful, as we’re currently in the minors and majors unit. Thanks for making this video and keep doing what your doing!

Something about Virtual Riot style melodic dubstep and glitch hop is that it's so argo, badass and wholesome at the same time. Like the cute plucky sounds playing after those heavy chords and dubstep basses. That's what I really like
This video is low-key a really significant part of my life. I've always thought of a time where the day if someone put out a video showcasing the style of music (I also liked to produced myself or liked listening to) that I could move on knowing the fun little secrets are out for the world to enjoy on a sandbox-esque level. VR is truly a inspirational artist and deserves the world of respect for his talents from stuff from this video. As I have transitioned from Music to Gaming over the last 6 months, my life has been sure to remind me that I am right where I am supposed to be... As this video helps solidify that perfectly. Thank you Dylan and Crow for this, this was exactly what I needed in my life as an artist wanting to express my music interest and how it works... without the OTT over expression that is.. lol. Most importantly, thank you VR for creating this community leading to such a perfect video. If anyone is curious I don't expect the views but my music channel is ua-cam.com/users/officialjbish hopefully the link works.
