THANK YOU!!! I desperately needed this video! I watched you, and immediately flew a drone for the very first time (I bought a really nice one days ago, but hadn't flown it yet) - cant wait to learn everything!
Thanks for that. I have only just got my drone and I'm terrible when it comes to co-ordination! I'm having trouble with the buttons but my son who has xbox etc has no problem. It's just getting use to them. Will keep practising.
Thanks for sharing, I’m still researching drones as I am a beginner and this has helped a lot. I currently have a 6Axis Gyro, haven’t flown it much because it’s a struggle to fly so I’m looking for something more fitting, thanks again!
I imagine it’s a lot easier to fly as far as orientation goes if you just watch the screen instead of trying to look at the drone. That way you’re always facing the way the drone is facing.
Very nice tutorial Dylan, Well Done. This is a great tutorial for ALL new DJI drone pilots, NOT just for the new DJI Mavic 2 drones, controller basics are always good to review for any pilot, Thank You!
Great videos my fellow Oklahoman. I piloted the Yuneek Q-400 for about a year, with my home base in Moore, OK. I hope to receive my Mavic 2 Pro today/ Looking forward to piloting her to glorious flights!!! Thank you for your time and excellent videos
Great video Dylan. I am getting ready to do lives on UA-cam using this drone. We travel so we are going to do lives in ( BRAZIL, USA, EUROPE and Mexico) I can't wait to start it. Thanks for helping :)
Better: Left stick: Up, Down, right, left--------Right stick: go forward, go backward, turn right, turn left. I don't know why is not the default option, but you must setting in custom profile.
The discussion about controls being reversed when the drone is facing the pilot is understandable but to really develop the muscle memory needed to steer a quadcopter or fixed wing drone in any direction, there is no substitute for time spent on an RC simulator like Real Flight 7.5, which can be bought cheap used on eBay. Any RC pilot that puts in enough hours on a simulator will be rewarded with a clean flying record showing zero pilot-error crashes, and no costly repairs.
Great instructional video!! Loved it. It was so easy to follow your instructions. Thanks very much! I subscribed because you seem like a very sensible guy!! And don worry, you are not insulting anybody's intelligence! Very easy to follow your instructions.
Hi Dylan just came across your channel, new to the Drone Ownership and Flying i have found your vlogs are very easy to understand especially as i am a beginner, I have just purchased the Mavic Pro 2 not new but it has been very well looked after. I have been a photographer for a long time but have had to give it up for health reason but still wanted a hobby, hopefully Drone Flying will still let my creative side continue to be. What is would be your go to software for video editing and that would not cost a fortune to buy. I live in the UK England many thanks Kurt
Let's say you send your drone far away and when you want to come home, you can't tell if it flies towards you or away from you. Do you use the map for orientation?
Are you in Anadarko? I am up in Tulsa. Would you by chance have any drone footage of the Wichita Mountains or Sandy Sanders Wildlife Management area? Let me know. Oh, and I totally subbed to your channel. I love the way you take one issue and you cover it in words that us novices can understand. My biggest pet peeve about YT videos is watching 25 minutes of something you don't need to get to the three minutes of something you do need. And then that issue, isn't covered as extensively as needed! I'm a fan already. And I'll be binge watching you tonight. I just got my Mavic 2 Pro and did first flight today. Your channel is going to be helpful to me and recommended to my friends getting into it.
cool video man...is there anyway you can have the camera recording when its on the ground and have it take off in asteroid mode instead of having it take off first then click asteroid mode?
Seems so many of these vids are too fast and delve into complexity too soon, so I highly appreciate your intro for this 70yo who plans on buying the zoom next May coz you take your time with basic details! Thanks sooooo much! l'll have saved enough to buy by then. Now that I'm here, any warning against buying it on eBay? Probably should see if still could have initial dji warranty? Also want DJI's care deal coz don't want kick myself for "getting out of control". I'll subscribe to you coz you taking time to make things clear. BTW, was this headless mode or that is the other different control setting? Always kinda confuse those.
I just picked up a used Mavic 2 Pro. I appreciate your video, and I just subscribed 👍
Man you are the best!
I was looking for this instruction with practical demonstration last 1 week in youtube.
Thank you so much! Subscribed
Now I understand. You made it incredibly clear. Thank youso much my friend for this very helpful video.

Thank you... I learned I must become one with the drone...
Thats the best I've seen it explained to a beginner. Great video. cheers >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
great Video of flying controls. Not too much talking with just enough to understand and see it Wish all tutorials were like this.
Great refresher, thank you for the video
Very good tutorial, kudos
Loved the Video, and just subscribed. You make perfect sense, whatever the direcrtion.

Nice video Dylan!

Thank you man..Very explanatory
Thank you, Dylan, an excellent starter video for me, cheers.
Excellent information! Thanks for the tutorial! Perfect for noobs like us!
Thanks very much brother.
Wait, so... when you go left, which way does the drone go?
Thanks , is work for me
Extremely helpful, priceless. Thanks for great video! New subscriber here.
First time I’ve ever seen walk around the drone instead of spinning it with your body. Makes more sense i guess.
Thanks dude

nice
Thanks ve46 much brother.
Thanks Dylan for the video. it sounds simple but when i first got the drone, it confused sh1t of me:)

Is it ok for a beginner like me
Great video! If the drone looses it’s connection does it automatically fly home? Or do you need to change a setting?
So if you go up or down, and then release the stick at some point, it auto-hovers in the spot?
yup
It is must set the compact calibration ?
cool video man...is there anyway you can have the camera recording when its on the ground and have it take off in asteroid mode instead of having it take off first then click asteroid mode?
cool, now we know how to take off and steer the drone, but the question is: how to land? :D
Great, THNX
Would have liked to have seen you.take off manually instead of using the take off button. And land the drone. But good video.
How will it function if you have no cell or data on a ipad ?
I’m about to pull the trigger on this thing. Not gonna lie, this is new territory for me. It’s a little intimidating. How do you land this thing?
to land it you just push the left stick down, it will slow down on its own so it wont crash
I think there might be a land button also
Keep it on Beginner mode until you learn how to use it. It’s helping me.

Cool 1st 👍
You from CT? Judging by the shirt
Does the home point dynamic option only show when the controller and drone are connected?
😍😍😍
Im a beginner
It is my 2nd day of watching mavic 2 vlogger
I play fly to much in gta.. is there a way to switch the controls
With FPV goggles I imagine the orientation feels normal since you're in that mode
What about landing
If you played old school resident evil games controlling this is no problem.
Me: oh so it’s like Xbox and ps4 controls.
Mavic pro 2: (crashes)
Me: oh... NVM
Just crashed my mavic 2 coz of reverse control..
😭
Land Man!!!
Thank you
