Hello from Jacksonville, Florida. Just found and subscribed a couple days ago to your build. Hope you show as much detail as you can, and some real time video of some of the work too. I have been looking at a Van’s RV9 for years, but I really like the S7 Speedster as well. Two totally different kinds of planes and builds. Mission is sight seeing and cross country traveling with the wife, who by the way is from Kelowna B.C. I really like all the different varieties of construction in the Kitfox. You get to work with a lot of different materials. Keith
as i contemplate which manufacturer to choose for my home build, it seems odd and problematic that you would have to do all this trimming from pieces parts right out of the box. how could Kitfox be so far off?
Hi Mark, thanks for the comment. I think your sentiment is valid and I’ve heard it from other folks too. I’ll reserve my full opinion until I’ve actually finished the build, but can give you a sense of where my thoughts are right now on this. *Overall, it really hasn’t been too bad.* Trimming the wooden ribs was pretty easy and went pretty quick after I got into the flow of it. Trimming the fibreglass fairing for the leading edge of the rudder was a bit trickier, but I also made it a bit more hard on myself as I was to make the slots and holes as small as possible, hence the constant back and forth between test fitting and trimming. If I was to gripe about anything, it would be reaming. It’s been the thing that has frustrated me the most about the build, but as I’ve gone on in the project I’ve become a lot more comfortable with it. It would be awesome if everything fit perfectly out of the box, but given the design and that it is a welded fuselage my understanding is that the dimensions of things are going to differ from fuselage to fuselage, so a bit of adapting is needed here and there, and in my case it hasn’t been too bad. Again, that is my thinking on it so far. I’ll be in a much more informed position after the build, but so far its not been as bad as I thought it could be.
Much better! Still on waiting list for our Kitfox STi. June 2024 eta. Really sucks their production can’t keep up with demand. Although might be persuaded to sell our spot to get the Vans RV-15.

Just an FYI - your voice is really low volume .
Thanks for the feedback, Warren. How are the audio levels in the latest video? (ua-cam.com/video/c-AJJ9xi7lw/v-deo.html)
