This is the last song my parents danced to together before they died a month later. Everytime I hear it I picture them dancing in the kitchen.
So sorry...
Hold those wonderful memories close & remember love NEVER ends.
What a gorgeous memory ❤️
Wow real touching!
That is heartbreaking, but that is a beautiful memory.
This isn't jazz, boys, it's Philly soul. I grew up listening to it back in the 70s, in England ❤
It's a bit like Cool Jazz, but you're right It's own thing. Sadly, Billy's no longer with us.
Gamble and Huff took over from Holland Dozier Holland.
Billy Paul was so unique in his music this was his first hit and it is one of the greatest songs of all time
Agreed..
Probably the best song about infidelity...ever cut outside of a C&W studio
Billy Paul is my homeboy from Philly. He used to work security at Strawbridge & Clothier Dept. Store with my big brother. The hat he’s wearing on the album cover was made by my high school friend and classmate Betty Leacraft. He is in the TSOP (The Sound of Philadelphia) stable!
OMG! THAT IS SOOOOOO COOL! 🙂
He worked at Strawbridges?! I'm from the Philly area and used to shop there all the time. Great department store that no longer exists.
Wow
That's awesome
Exceptional comment
What a great story!
One of the GREAT songs from my high school years. That orchestration is stunning.
That's for sure!
same here
That's "The Sound Of Philadelphia" (T.S.O.P.) music right there! Philly Pride.❣️
@@Mystique2u That's another great song to react to, TSOP by MFSB.
YES! Beautiful song. Brings me right back to my old days. Thanks guys for playing it!
I am a 70’s kid, this was the bomb 💣 my mom would turn this up 💃🏻 good times!
Not too often you hear a love song like this about an affair from the perspective of the person doing the cheating. This song has so much sauce, love it! I didn't hear it til I was older either. More Philly Soul artists/songs to check out are Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes "If You Don't Know Me By Now" and The Spinners "I'll Be Around" ✌️❤️
Like the song "part time lover" by Stevie wonder. I like the original official video, really spells out the lyrics. Reminds me of times in life that I was living that song for real.
Harold Melvin
It was said that his wife in real life asked him just who WAS "Mrs. Jones"!!
Oh yeah this song is a classic. A mellow sound you can chill by yourself or be with your significant other.
I was a Mrs Jones for years before I remarried and I work on the phone and can’t tell you how many times people have sung this song to me 😄🎼🎵🎶
Lol...I would love that...
Oh man!! My mom used to play this song all the time on her record player when I was a kid. Love this song!! 💙💙💙💙
An utter blast from the past!!! I was in junior high school & remember this song was playing on the radio, an AM station 📻, lol, as I was getting ready for school. Great reaction Tim & Fred!!!! 😎👍🏼☮️❤️
This song is so smooooth. Never gets old.
A great, sexy song by Mr Billy Paul...may he rest in peace. This record was played on my turn table until almost worn out ! Thanks for sharing this song. Great memories !
You just took me right back to 8th Grade and 1972!!! This was one of the big ones back in the day!!! 🎯💥👏👍
I was in 6th grade. 😁
I was in the 2nd grade but I still remember it clearly... It was impactful.
I was in the 7th grade.
What a hidden gem!! 👍🏽
This song by Billy and "If You Don't Know Me By Now" by Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes are the 2 songs that will "physically" move me and put a smile on my face all day long. 💃😁
THANK YOU guys!! ❤
GREAT SUGGESTION! SHEER PERFECTION! 🧡💛💚💙💜🤎
If You Don't Know Me By Now is definitely one of my ALL TIME FAVORITES and the Twins should definitely film their reaction to it.
Loved their concerts! 70s music forever!!!
Yes!!!! Great suggestion!!
One of the classics that will never ever grow old. That was indeed music!
I love the 70's era of music
Too many feels with this song. I was just a kid. But we knew good stuff when we heard it. Thanks for the memories.
I love these guys!!! Completely adorable!!! They are so open to all kinds of music!! These are truly unique young men!! Class personified!
A great old "slow dance" soul song. 👍👍👍
Hi Guys, I'm Mrs Jones but only with one man for 52 years. Love your posts. Love from Oz. 💕💕💕💕
Wow that’s some classy smooth jazzy music. He’s got soothing voice ❤️🙏🏼
"LOVE AND HAPPINESS", "TIRED OF BEING LONELY" ~ Al Green.....!!!
YES! YES! YES! GREAT SUGGESTIONS!
Nick, that would be "I'm So Tired of Being Alone" by Bishop Al Green and while we're at it, let's suggest "Sha La La Make Me Happy"
@@lilccaddy I hope you can forgive me.....
@@2869may nothing to forgive, Sweets, between one Al Green fan and another
Oh, y’all found a gem right here. One of the smoothest tracks ever. Certified classic.
That song always gives me goosebumps. Very romantic song ♥️
Timeless Classic. The song was covered by The Dramatics who like Billy Paul also have an amazing discography that you should check out. Although The Dramatics SANG TF out of it, nothing will ever touch the original by Mr Billy Paul 🔥🔥🔥
You didn’t say the Dramatics?! You’re talking good music now. Lol The Manhattans,Spinners and do remember Enchantment? They were great too.
@@Kim-427& The Delfonics
Ohhhhh, yes. So glad someone requested this, beat me to it. What a beautiful tapestry of voice, instrumentals, and back up singers. Perfectly gorgeous tune. Thank you!
Thank you to my Mom raising us right and playing these old jams when we were kids growing up. Great song even if it’s about him n Mrs Jones creeping 😂
😂
It sure brings a smile to my face watching both of your reactions to the Soul that rocked our world back in the day... 💞
Classic Soul, now this is my kind of music, the 70s was banging!!!!
Loved this song when it first came out. Hadn’t heard it in a long time. You are right … it is smooth.
Hell yeah I love Billy Paul! An underrated legend
❤ oh this song! Never gets old.
Omg it’s about time you did this one!
One of the best songs!
Although this has a jazzy feel it is old Philladelphia soul music - proper soul music from my teenage years. That "feeling" it is called "Soul"
Nice. So excited to see you guys react to this song.
One of the greatest songs ever written. I named my sailboat Mrs. Jones
This song is Epic and one of music histories very BEST ballads!❤️ It takes me back to the beautiful 1970’s , My Generation.
Great music smooth makes u feel good wen u listen bring me back to my childhood thanks guys great reaction as always
70’s R&B is absolute sweet spot of classic pop music
I have always loved this song 🎵
We love this song he’s got such a nice voice than glad to see you too back on the air all my love Liz
Thank you for reading my comment I miss you too Liz the queen
Great reaction guys to a sure nuff classic! Never get tired of hearing it! Here's a couple of 70's classics that you'll definitely enjoy. Kiss and Say Goodbye by The Manhattans and Slippin' Into Darkness by War. Both groups have a number of hits. Really enjoy your reactions guys!
Oh man, that takes me back to high school. One sexy song. Thanks guys. This gave me sing along joy.
I have heard this don't hundreds of times as a kid. But this feels like the first time. I t actually feels like jazz after you said that I realized it is jazz. And it's beautiful and smooth.
God, how I love this song. Although this song came out in the very early 70's, I'm so happy I was born in 1952. The timing allowed me to be alive during the great hits of Motown, which made me appreciate the songs from Billy Paul..
I loved his version of somebody's knocking at the door .
What an absolute BANGER indeed guys...one of my all time favourites ( by the way this sound is NOT Jazz. It's "Philly" Soul .) Can you react to :
Barry White - Let The Music Play
Or
Barbra Streisand feat. Barry Gibb - Guilty
💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
Guilty
Has little jazz in it.billy paul 2as first jazx artist.
Billy, one of the best. Word.
Brilliant vocals, brilliant song. An American classic. Fantastic.
Another classic, thanks for this flashback 🤗
Love seeing your reaction! You guys are the best. Glad you liked it. This one is a classic from back in da day! Btw, back then, this was widely regarded as an R & B tune. Keep on keepin' on.
Bringing back memories. Straight up, senior year of high school got a friend's band to learn this song and sang it with them for the senior class talent show back in the early 1990s. There was a Mrs. Jones in my high school known as the hot teacher. I never had a class with her. She was just known as the hot teacher in our school. But the teachers in charge of the show said we could do it ONLY if we were good and not ashamed to say we were good with that song. No others, just this one. We won, and I gave the guys all the $200 prize money. They blew it on beer that weekend. Shoot. I'm gonna play it again since I was typing while listening.
I remember hearing this song in Basic Training in the United State Air Force. Oh my goodness, great memories.
Great job guys! Thanks for keeping great music alive!
Love this song!! My mom was Mrs. Jones, and I was a kid when this was popular...thanks for this one!!!!
Thx having reacted to this hugely iconic and cult song. Mesmerizing and unique ton of voice. He did others gems such as his insane cover of Elton John's "My song" . A must to discover!
Your song.
@@h.c4898 Yes, Where was my head?
And to think I’ve listened to this version hundreds of times on my cd player. :-)
Love Billy Paul. Let's Make A Baby is another Billy Paul classic you gotta react to.
Fun Fact: his real name was Paul Williams but there was already a Paul Williams at that time with The Temptations so he reversed it and made his first name his last name and his last name his first name because Billy is short for William!
Gorgeous song.
I love this Era of music. It had a message and reminds me of my mother 💓. Please play Evelyn Champagne King's "Shame".
If you haven't reacted yet, The Manhattans Let's Just Kiss and Say Goodbye is another banger from back in the day.
I’m almost 50 years old and this took me waaayyy back! Although it’s about two people having an affair, strangely I’ve always considered it one of the ROMANTIC songs I’ve ever heard. Two people who, for whatever reason, cannot walk away from one another. I can feel every word! 🥹
My grandmother and I danced to this all the time as a child. Her favorite and always makes me smile, thinking of her.
I get goose bumps everytime I hear this song. Billy Paul's voice is so soulful.
Beautiful, can remember buying this way back in the seventies 🥰😍🥰😍
you boys are 2 little pearls of Joy!!!! A mama and a nana of 65 you make my day everyday
This song is PERFECTION.....Billy Paul's singing talent, style and musicianship is so exhilarating...and the brilliant orchestration of this song...the sax...the lush strings....this recording is a full on MASTERPIECE..and sounds just as phenomenal now as when it was released 50 years ago....and to see the Twins appreciating and loving this song...is special...thank you
One of my favorites! A slice of life presented in an amazing way. It sucks you in!!! 😽💋🎶
I haven’t heard this song in years, I remember it as a kid. Now understanding the lyrics as an adult..so funny…love it..love your channel guys!
My brothers! ✊
Love all these old songs, been listening to them since I was waycyoung my mates all thought I was weird.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this song ...video good him on soul train I think ...even today it’s whisked me back xx
I was in the 3rd grade when this came out and there was a couple with the last name Jones on our block. My mother heard me singing this and told me "I better not ever hear you sing this song again".
Always on my Playlist
This song is GORGEOUS. I remember listening to it when I was a little girl. I didn't understand the lyrics, but the music and his voice were so appealing to my little ears. It's still one of my favorite songs.
I hadn't ever heard this (assuming the original) version. Wow. Easily the best recording of this song ever! Downloaded.
Well wait there’s another version?
@@chancebrown106 The Dramatics
@@jaylaannrose2303 oh shit let me research!
Michael Buble’also has a pretty good version
I remember listening to this with my hest friend and singing our lungs out many a time with ol' Billy Paul. The songs of our youth right there. Early 20s, partying and laughing and singing. God, I miss those days but mostly I miss her. She passed away at 29 but is thought of with love on an almost daily basis. RIP Vickie Clarke. Love ya sis!
In my opinion this is his hallmark. A great song executed perfectly this was grown folks music when it came out. A billboard number one of course
I love watching the reaction that you guys have to the amazing music we grew up on. Classic reaction to classic music.😍😍
YEESSS, Old School, THANKU, ♥️🎼😊
GREAT song! Smoothhhhhh.Remember it well😌
Billy Paul was from my city Philly! Grew up listening to this song in the 70's. My mother met him and said he was great man also.
My mom used to play this song all the time…always reminds me of her ~ great song!🎶❤️🎶
Omg, I'm at the hospital visiting sister. This was the first 45 record that she ever purchased when she was 9 yrs old! Can you imagine a 9 yr old buying this record? Lol
When you get a chance, please give a listen to live version of this song by "The Dramatics".
Love this original recording. This has been covered many times. You should checkout Hall and Oats live cover, it’s one of the best.
Hall and Oats are so underrated.
From this song comes the common expression “I’ve got a love Jones “ but maybe you all are too young to know that expression ☺️
Ohhhhhhh ok yeah that have anything to do with the movie by that name? Prince used to talk about Love Jones too. Never heard that expression before he mentioned it now I get it.
The term 'love jones' comes from the drug culture of the '60s, usually referring to heroin, and was a term about addiction, similar to 'fiending' which came with the crack era. Also, there's a song called 'Basketball Jones' from that time that was popular.
Love jones soundtrack is my fav
Fred & Tim, while this song is smooth and has some jazz elements, it was pure R&B. 🙂
Love this song! Glad y’all liked it
Luv U Guys ❤️ haven't watch in a while I would like to here what U guys have heard hopefully soon 🤩
This grown folks music 🎶 💕🎶
One of my absolute favorites!!!! This is his best song!
One of the many reasons Billy Paul was born, what to sing this song!!!!
Old School Soul!!!
Fred...you've got Tim lookin' good....Tay too! Barber school's already paying off❣️
The vocals are the very delicious cherry on this sensational instrumental sundae! Loved this from the first time I heard it.
It was a hot song back in the day. I loved R&B. I wish it would come back to stay. The R&B sound is sexy as heck.
