The wooden item is a shuttle, as you said. When weaving on a loom, it holds the yarn you are using for the weft. It shoots from side to side over and under the warp threads which are lifted with foot peddles.

Ha! Over the years I think I have learned and tried almost all the textile arts, including weaving. Setting up the loom, getting the warp threads on, takes time and a lot of patience but once you start to weave it is very relaxing and enjoyable.

You are right about not buying those toners that are not name brand. However, I bought a non-name brand toner for my HP printer and it has been great. It has lasted and lasted.

Hey Julian, Non chlorinated brake cleaner for auto upholstery removes just about anything easily. Trade secret from an auto mechanic, they left grease and oil on my car matts and seat. I watched and learned how they do it😃 smells strong for a bit but wears off after it drys fully. Take care and keep up the awesome content🤠👍

Be careful with the barometer weather stations. If the thermometer has mercury in it, it can not be shipped. Also steer clear of them if any part is made of plastic
its all red in the thermometer which indicates dyed alcohol or mineral spirits.
Wish I could find one with mercury ,in it! Need it for experiments!to show children, some cool, stuff!
You are definitely right about the handy cans they do very well I sold one last week for $85 that I got for free got to believe in those damn things I got an extra battery for that camera if you want it let me know

Your thrift stores are much cheaper than in Baton Rouge. Boots here start at a minimum of $10 and can go up to $30 plus, depending on the brand. I don't flip but I trash pick for anything my church's thrift shop can use or that I might want. It is amazing what people throw in the trash.
yea trash picking is fun - my dad sometimes does that and has found amazing stuff!
@Bearded Thrift Machine. At the 4-minute 40-second mark I literally hollered It's a shuttle off a loom. A lot of the cotton grown in the south of the USA was shipped to NW England, specifically East Lancashire where there was an abundance of weaving mills. :)

@ 3:32 Should have picked up the flatware. That pattern is Oneida Michelangelo. Very good quality and one of their most popular patterns. It sells for a good price (except dinner knives, for some reason), especially if there is a little cube design imprinted on the back. (The "cube" pieces were from when Oneida was manufactured in the USA.) It's been my personal flatware pattern since the 80s. I've bought additional sets of it at estate sales to resell and made very good $ on it.

The amber glass candy dish is 1970s, when harvest gold was popular. It is not the right style to sell today, Mid Century Modern sells, if it had more gold ormolu decorative metal around it, then it would be "Hollywood Regency Style". Some of that style sells quite well.

I roll them up and wrap in poly bag. Cover all with shipping tape.

all really depends on the item - some of mine sell within hours or days and ive had some stuff for a year or so - as i get better at picking items they sell faster and faster
Have 2 Garage sales a year, ask nearby houses or apartments if they want to have a block sale, cull your things that don't sell that way.

i really keep adding to it all - the stuff listed and unlisted - we are doing a huge yard sale in sept and will get rid of some stuff in storage - all good but too large to ship
