I like how you note that the DL Haunted Mansion is an antebellum plantation-style mansion. They specifically didn't use that style in Florida because they didn't think it would feel antiquated enough for the east coast audiences. It makes the Disneyland New Orleans Square feel far more plucked out of a different universe being in the middle of Anaheim, same with the Victorian-style mansion in the middle of Florida swampland. Almost as if the mansion exists independent on how it actually looks, manifested by the spirits inside to look as spooky and alien to the area around them as possible.
The analysis and reasoning isn’t as deep as you try to put it. The reason for the houses being different was based purely on housing trends of the 50s and 70s, respectively. White, columned mansions were the ideal of the 1950s, while Victorian houses and brick were a 70s trend, also the silhouette of the DW haunted mansion better fits with the storybook idea of a haunted house, while the DL version is pristine and fits in with the pristine, preserved but antique environment of New Orleans square. Walt Disney specifically did not want a gangly, dilapidated mess of abandoned mansion sitting as an eyesore in his park, so the outside is upkept by Disney and the ghosts inside do their own “upkeep”. Btw your comment spreads misinformation
@applesocks89 OK, I was misinformed, sorry about that. Still an interesting observation, I think, that they mansions are sort of swapped geographically, even if you're not really meant to think about that in the context of Disney parks as a story.
I hate to be "That Guy", but the PS2/Xbox game's story isn't *really* based on the movie even though it came out around the same time. It's really cool and I'm totally not biased because it was a childhood game and it absolutely terrified me to the point I needed to play a few levels with my mom to beat them when I was 5, not at all. Zeke is NOT Eddie Murphy I will not stand for this. EDIT: Also, the mansion is under control of an evil spirit during that game that's cursed the grim grinning ghosts called Thorn. It's kind of like a Luigi's Mansion-style thing, after refreshing my memories.
KINGDOM KEEPERS REFERENCE YEAHHHHHHHHH!!! Literally was my favorite book series throughout middle school and may or may not have contributed to me being a Disney adult
KINGDOM KEEPERS REFERENCE IN 2024 lets goooooooo!!! I would love an episode comparing the books to the parks one day. I loved that series even though after going back to read it recently it has MANY faults 😅
I mean, in diagrams of H2O the oxygen molecules are very commonly depicted as small red spheres, so maybe our ocean already is made of tiny maraschino cherries.
If you can connect Disney World's Tower of terror (The original builder earned their money importing items from Morocco and Africa more broadly, hence the influences on the hotel) which connects to the haunted mansion, can you connect other park attractions to the HM-verse? Such as Carousel of Progress, or Expedition Everest? I'd like to see you give it a whirl. how many attractions/rides/park lands can you sensibly pull together into one solid narrative. bonus points if it doesn't rely on SEA.
I thought it was common knowledge that the rides were just diffrent versions of the same story kinda like the differences between book versions ex: Grims brothers Cinderella vs Disney Cinderella. Although S.E.A throws a interesting wrench in the situation.
There is ONLY one TRUE Haunted Manson. It's located in New Orleans Square at Disneyland. All the others are cheap knockoffs like a Fauxlex (bought in front of a 7-11 or a self-serve gas station) is NOT a original Rolex..... Nuff Said. Great watch, happy Halloween to all.

Happy Halloween, Dallin!
Every illusion at every ride, at every park, I’d sit through that whole thing.

I remember when Muppets Haunted Mansion came out and it was quickly one of my favorite things
Still waiting for Dallin to tell us where he got the East Indian Trading Company sign from.

Great job. But you did forget The Haunted Mansion in VMK (Virtual Magic Kingdom). 😅
Bring back the Pepper's ghost effect for the Hitchhiking Ghost instead of digital projections in WDW.!!! Go back to that universe!
All the Dalyns have Weird Al’s hair in this multiverse, but refuse to sing song parodies!!

Happy Halloween foolish mortals 🖤
They are all connected at the Endless Hallway.
This was fascinating. I have a question, though. Why didn't you include the Haunted Mansion in Paris???
I was worried you didn't include Muppets lol
Ha, jokes on you. I watched Muppet Haunted Mansion today (10/31) *before* you posted this.
*Dun Dun Dun*
*Dun Dun*
Spooky, yes
The whole multiverse is easy to understand if you read Stephen King. "Go then, there are other worlds than these".

No Disneyland Adventures Haunted Mansion? I’m disappointed ☹️😂😂
