Couple of things if your still active, saw you didn’t have the car so don’t worry if you can’t answer some things. 1) I’m planning on doing this to my FN2 TypeR. I have a regular 1.8 civic with that screen which I’m going to rip out but that car doesn’t have dual climate control so will it still function or will I not see it ?. 2) How do you set the time on the screen with the head unit controls out ? Is there a way to do it on the steering wheel or something ?
The screen is the same; you will see dual climate control. The time is set from steering wheel controls. You press and hold the ‘mode’ button until time flashes then use the channel and volume keys to set it. Press and hold mode button to exit it and set the time. Hope this helps.
Nice bro I did it in my FN2 but couldn't do the steering volume control can you please help me I just need to know where to connect the KE1 and KEY2 and the GND Thank you🌹
Hi there. I've tried upgrading my 2014 Civic head unit today to a Pioneer unit (very similar to yours) but I'm getting 'Audio off' on the HUD when I power it on. The unit itself looks and operates fine, just getting the 'Audio Off' message on the HUD with no sound coming from the speakers. Just wondered if you had the same issue or have any ideas please? Thanks :)
Does the old trim not fit with the new screen? What is the name of the trim you need to get? I'm having trouble finding it online. I think parts are getting a bit scarce these days.
Hey I have a Honda Accord which I want to replace the headunit with an aftermarket one. Just a quick question, the Civic you have, do they have 10 speaker premium sound system? Or is it the the standard one? I was wondering if you do have the 10 speaker premium sound system did all the speakers work after? Nice tutorial
Hi Mark, I'm about to do this now as a Christmas present for my partner. I don't suppose you could tell me the exact part you purchased for the screen, and particularly the dash board bit? I think I've found the screen but not sure where to find the dash board part so if you found one and know the part number (or exact name for it) this would be super useful! Thanks so much
Hi mark appears it’s been a while since this video came out so I’m hoping you see this …. I’ve got the replacement screen for mine with the standard headunit still installed when I plug the plug into the back of the screen it’s giving me all messed up info on the standard screen is this because it’s still trying to route some of the info through the sat nav screen ? Will I have to unplug everything to do with the satnav for this standard screen to work I’m planning on replacing the lot but just wandered if you could help at all
Whether you got this sorted or not pal. This is very common for the screens. The soldering joints get quite hot being close to the engine etc and essentially melt. You’ll need to get them resoldered or get a new screen
Hello mate. I've been having issues with my audio in exactly the same vehicle. Radio starts cutting in and out intermittently and after a while it will remain on (Station shows on the display) but I'm left with a constant high pitch whinning noise. Is this likely to be the head unit itself or the speakers? I can't find out if this model comes with a factory fitted amp/sub. I know its a common issue but people on the civi forums are all unsure of how to cure it. Any feedback would be appreciated
Head units overheat in these cars and go faulty. Only option is to replace it or go aftermarket. Mine did exactly same as yours (high pitch whining noise).
Great video mate!!just want to know if i need to get the standard clock display from a dual climate car too or the display is the same that used a mono climate one?!?tia..
Hi, thanks for video but I have one question. İ bought android model for this car model (Honda civic hb 2011). I did connect all of them cables but my steering control not working. For example: volume up, mode, channel +… how can I find true cables into to from car. Reverse camera working. I did.
Thanks! My FN2 doesn't read the NAV disk anymore, because it was spinning and my garage put it on the bridge to work on it. They dropped the car a little bit too much and the DVD top layer was damaged. Now, was reading with a new DVD, you have to hold: Map, Cancel and Menu, but where is Cancel button, lol? The one on steering wheel does not work. Any idea? Not sure I can do this 😀
@@MarkRiddellRacing Sorry to disturb you again? You have not removed the DVD unit itself? Was wondering if that was hard and what to remove as in panels? Anyway, thanks for your reply sir! :)
£280 for the kit that included the head unit, fascia, wiring harnesses. £20 for a used standard clock display off eBay. £20 for the flat plastic dash panel that sits in front of the screen. Hope this helps.
In Barcelona, Catalonia. Connects2 Kit (fascia, wiring harneses..): 168,30€ in dynamicsounds.co.uk, Standard clock display: 71,39€ and flat panel 38,25€ from scrap yard, total 277,94€
On the radio aerial adapter where does the blue wire connect too? I have a wire on the new head unit blue labeled remote so I will prob give that a go.
HiiI know it's 4 years later but did you try to plug the green plug from the adaptor into your original small square radio display? I did the other day and the screen just produced garbage. ua-cam.com/video/5f6JbTfJvFw/v-deo.html

Great video! I thought that this is impossible to have a custom radio on EX Civic. Well done!

Nope. Completely different. You just need the trim from a non-satnav model. Or you can just leave off the trim panel it’s only for looks.
Easiest way is to find a civic at a breakers near you on ebay, contact the. And let them know what you need. If they have it make an offer for it ✌️
Legend!
Hello fella, I can't seem to find a non sat nav screen anyway wondering if you could help as I wish to do the same
Just need to keep checking eBay or breakers. Was a few years ago now so maybe they’re just harder to find these days. Good luck!

Don’t have a part number but it’s just the flat part in front of the radio/clock screen that is in all Civics that don’t have factory sat nav.
