Glad you mentioned that Nate the Great officially recorded the first quadurple double in NBA history and one of his later life interviews Thurmond admitted that he wouldn't be the first if blocks counted before the 1973-74 season which the honor should have been either Bill Russell or Wilt Chamberlain. Had the league track down blocks for the first 10 years of his career, Thurmond would have been third all-time career block shots leader behind Chamberlain and Russell, but ahead of Kareem unofficially while the official all-time career block shots leader Olajuwon would be drop to 5th to 8th all-time unofficially. Keep it up.
Nate Turmon was supposed to be the Center addition to my beloved 1970s Chicago Bulls to put us over the top - to have a great or very, very good center Like Kereem , Wilt or Bob Lanier... we were always trying to replace our big a big slow, didn't jump or dunk White center Tom Borwinkle. But for some reason Nate Thurmon didn't work out. Tom Borwinkle stayed around a long time and was a good backup to Artis Gilmore. Sure, Tom B didn't dunk even though he was 7 ft tall, but he was a great passer and solid defender. Our Bulls had great defense in the 1970s with Jerry Sloan, Norm Van Lier, Bob Love, Borwinkle all he Dick Motta teams played good defense.
Wilt’s stats and Russell’s stats not being counted doesn’t invalidate Thurmond’s stats. when he was comparable to BOTH of them in terms of rebounding, shot blocking, and overall defensive impact. Thurmond gave trouble to both Wilt and Kareem and both of them freely admit that.
@@markjackson6431 it does because you don't know how many rebounds or blocks that they actually had in a game or how many defensive titles they could won because certain stats and accomplishments didn't exist yet
@@theetruth8626homie are you aware that Nate Thurmond in the same era as them. sooooo your argument should be applied to him as well. which makes what you’re trying to claim a moot point. check mate bud, good game
@@markjackson6431 Wilt's blocks were actually recorded in 100 games. In those games Wilt averaged 8.8 blocks. How that correlates to his whole career who knows.
Draymond Green couldn't carry Nate Thurmond's jock-strap ... ever! If Draymond dreams that he was ever better than Nate, on any given day, he better wake-up and apologize!!
Russell defensive stats as far as analytics labels him at “The GOAT” defender in nba history. Nate’s only edge is man to man defense but Russell has the edge in the rest of.

He's forgotten more than Elvin Hayes and Elgin Baylor. This is Mr. Forgotten.
Imo, one of the most underrated (top 5-7) in history.
Nate Thurman is one of those 6 foot plumbers that Bill Russell and Wilt Chamberlain played against. That's the lie the young generation tells.
“The young generation” as if Jordan fans weren’t saying the same shit in his day. Boomers are wild
Gary..they don't know
"NATE THURMOND" 💪🏿!!
The new MBA gen of players spends time at LGBTQ gatherings and play8ng video game.
you should do a video on geoff pietre, he was an all-nba player but barely gets recognized
There seems to be almost no footage of him. Which sucks. Hope some one can prove me wrong
And he just looks like a badass! Nobody looks cool in the NBA now

Nate Was Actually A Bully!! A Seriously Strong Guy.
My dad was friends with Butch Komives who played with Nate at Bowling Green. Butch lead the Nation in Scoring. Little before my time!
Underrated
How we not gonna talk about how he blocked Kareem shy hook but he’s forgotten?
Big big up
He was the2nd. man to block jabbar hook shot. Next to chamberlain
Can you do a breakdown on superstar Larry Johnson?
Good content, while you're in the archives, how about Artis Gilmore.
Also the coolest hairline in NBA history! dude looks scary as hell!
his hair line was reseeded

Chamberlains shot selection always puzzled me. Seems to me he could have been a lot more creative.

Nate Thurmond can arguably be ranked higher than Bill Russell defensively

@@Nickgonelie Olajuwon is easily a better defender than Russell, there's no analytics that can erase that
Lol nasty nate didn't play no games
Another NBA player who blocked a Skyhook
