    I made this yesterday - and have just eaten toast and marmite with melting vegan butter that tasted and oozed just like dairy butter. And I don't need to buy plastic tubs of margarine any longer - thank you!

      what oils did you use? I cannot find refined coconut oil. But have avocado oil. Will it work on only 1 oil or a mix of pure olive oil and avocado oil?

    • @Nemodog
      @Nemodog 4 роки тому +2

      @@gayegerard6198 The coconut oil is solid at room temp. This is what gives the plant butter it's solidness. If you made your butter with only oils that are liquid at room temp, you would have liquid butter.

    Hi Petra. I tried it. This is a really wonderful recipe, BUT (FYI) I have recently finished reading, and highly recommend, the book "The Ancestral Diet Revolution" by Chri A. Knobbe, MD. It has completely changed my thinking about seed oils, and specifically high omega-6 oils. Also I recommend "Toxic Legacy" about glyphosate by Stephanie Seneff. It looks to me like mankind has entered an unhealthy hidden "nutritional famine" world wide. I am now limiting myself to ONLY organic raw avocado's, organic unrefined coconut fat, and organic Non GMO flax seed oil. Sadly, I now eat organic whole olives, but not olive oil -- not even unrefined cold pressed extra virgin olive oil. I am currently developing vegan mayonnaise, butter and cheese recipes using these limitations. It is going well.

    I don't use vegan spreads as the vast majority of them have a lot of unhealthy ingredients in them, but I do miss having a piece of freshly baked bread with a sliver of slightly salty butter. I never thought of making my own and this recipe looks amazing! Thank you so much for sharing it with us, I can't wait to try it when I have the time!

    • @lamoskgr
      @lamoskgr 4 роки тому +1

      There are many recipes of vegan mayo on UA-cam but there is one that I specially like but it's only found in Portuguese. You use some "malanga" which is a type of taro that is native to South America. It's small, brown on the outside and white on the inside. You have to oil it first like a potato. To that you add some vegetable milk, lemon juice, olive oil, garlic powder, salt and pepper. It's delicious!! You can also choose if you want to add oil or not but it tastes just as good

      The easyest vegan mayo is made with soymilk and oil and salt and vineger plus and flavouring of your choice
      1 tbls of vineger
      50 ml of soy milk
      100 ml of oil neautral better
      And a little salt blend together and voilà i’m not vegan and i love this more than non-vegan mayo

      The nutritional yeast enhances the buttery flavor, but it's not absolutely critical in this recipe. I wouldn't use turmeric. I would recommend using a splash of carrot juice to get the yellow-y color. (You won't be able to taste the carrot juice at all).

    Hi, can I ask, I have no probiotics at home but only Enzyme supplement (PureSynergy product). Thus could I replace it to probiotics? I actually tried with coconut yogurt but it didn’t work. I’m not sure it’s the enzyme that failed or other reason of me doing not properly. Thank you much for answering me!

    How long does it last in the refrigerator?

      It depends on the milk (the butter will last as long as the milk does). If you're using store-bought plant-based milk, it should last for about a week. If you need to store the butter for longer than that, you can put it in the freezer (all the instructions are on my blog in the recipe box :)

    Is that your one ingredient flax bread recipe you used or another recipe? I’m going to make the butter but want to make the bread as well.

    Is there a substitute for almond flour. My son is allergic to almonds and I would love to stop buying those nasty seed oil butters for him.

      The probiotics I used are by Renew Life (I have a link to the exact product in the recipe box on my blog if you're interested). The probiotics are free of dairy, gluten, and soy. I hope you enjoy the recipe :)
