- After a long 30 days of lockdown in Shanghai, we've been craving some hotpot. We found that Haidilao was delivering which gave us the perfect opportunity to try hotpot at home for the first time!
We can't wait for everything to open back up so we can eat hotpot at the restaurant again!

Usually, Chinese hotpot will keep the hotpot boiling with electric heater. The temperature is not high enough if not keeping cook. Seems you are really enjoying your hotpot during the lock down. Hope Shanghai to open up soon
Luckily the water kept pretty hot at the bottom while we cooked, but we definitely would need something in the future to keep it hot longer.

Should have bought yourself an electric hotpot. It works.
We’ll need to buy one! Unfortunately this is all we could get during lockdown
In China, hotpot at home usually relies on portable induction cooktop. Pretty sure the pot you got from Haidilao was never meant to go on a stove.
Maybe! We think the one we got was supposed to be over sternos to keep it hot after cooking, but we didn’t have it or a way to keep it. Luckily It stayed hot the whole time!
Are you planning to leave anytime soon? Or still thinking it's the place to be in 2022 and onwards?
We have one more year left on our contract.

We boiled the soup prior to moving it to our table, so it was always hot! 我们在把汤搬到餐桌前煮了汤，所以汤总是热的！
You do not have to buy an electric hotpot, standing and eating beside the stove, old fashioned, you sure will eat more
