    My son-in-law just purchased a new SUV. He drove a CX50 first, then drove the Rogue .After the CX50 we both noticed the very firm front seats , and that they did not feel very comfortable like other Mazdas. My son-in-law recently had a Mazda Miata RF , so he's been a Mazda fan for awhile, that's why we went there first. We then drove the Rogue, and with every mile he became hooked. He thought the drive was much better than the CX50 with supremely comfortable seats and a smother, quieter ride. Plus in moving boxy cargo , that extra height in the rear can make a difference. When the test drive was over , he had decided on the Nissan hands down. The new Nissans are on another level compared with Nissans of several years ago, their new generation of cvts are great. Do yourself a favor like we did and drive one. We're glad we did.

    I’m a Mazda girl so we put our deposit on a CX-50 Turbo. We’re expecting our first baby this year so it’s nice to see the cargo space with a stroller. We’re excited and happy for the usable floor space Vs vertical space!

    Thank you for making this comparison! I am thinking of both and loved to see the cargo with the same object in both ! Cx50 is deeper which to me makes up for it not being as tall because you can still fit a ton in there ! I think I will become a Mazda owner soon after this !

    I think Nissan has FINALLY hit a home run with this new Rogue. I like everything about it. And it's DEFINITELY on my short list for a new SUV. I'm simply waiting for prices too come down. And also for any recalls/kinks too be worked out with the new 3cyl turbo engine. If your leasing go for it. But i have always felt that purchasers should wait a year or so if they are able. So anything can be "worked out" before dropping $40k on such a new vehicle. Otherwise, i think this will replace my 2015 Lincoln MKC 2.0 AWD very nicely. Comparable 0-60 times from a friend of mine who owned a 2017 2.0 Ford Escape. And feels the Nissan is just as peppy. My MKC having the same engine as the Escape so that was a relief too find that out. And a MUCH larger cargo hold which i would like for traveling. Plus, better gas mileage for sure. It's a win win in my book. Again, pending this new engine stays reliable.

    I got my CX-50 turbo premium plus in July, and I’ve gotta say that the center console has been comfortable for my knee & I’m 6’2”. There were many cars that I turned away from simply because my right knee was not comfortable where it rested. My knee would either hit the dash, or it would be uncomfortable against the center console. In the CX-50, my knee is comfortable even though the center console is not padded. I never once have thought “man, my knee is getting sore.” I don’t even think about it. It doesn’t need the padding. I think if Mazda did include the padding, it wouldn’t be adding anything. The padding would just be taking up space and give your knees less room, in my opinion.

      Car reviewers complain about things that are nothing. What they should concentrate on between these two CUVs is the longevity. The Nissan has a CVT and a horrible one at that. The Mazda will be a MUCH better long term vehicle. Nissan makes horrible quality cars compared to Mazda.

    Just a quick comment regarding you statement about the rear proximity locks of the Nissan. I have these thing hanging off of my body called arms . It’s no issue to press the door lock on the front door to lock all the doors. In addition no CVT for me thanks .

    Don’t make the mistake of purchasing the CX-50 like I did. I own the CX-50 for a little less than a year and the ride rough and the seats are very firm. I had to have to transmission looked at after 3k miles due to is slipping. I traded my CX-50 in for a new Nissan Rogue Platinum and the seats are so comfortable and the ride is nice and there isn’t a bunch of road noise like with the Mazda. The Rogue definitely seems more top of the line than the Mazda. As far as the wireless charger and all the other electronics they just work better in the Rogue.

    This is one comparison review i have been looking for. I will be in the market in a couple of months, and so i'm doing my video review first to see what others think of these suv's.
    I'm concerned with the Nissan 1.5L 3 cycle engine to be honest. The Mazda has the better engine for power and probably reliably, but not gas mileage.
    It is important to me to have good storage room in the back. Nissan looks to be the better choice. I like the looks of both vehicles, and i'm a top trim type guy. For me, the dashboard layout looks much better in the Nissan. The Mazda screen seems like it's buried in the dashboard, and the controls look to close together.
    I take 4 to 5 hour drives and comfort is a must! I would never buy a vehicle without a lengthy test drive (1 hour or so).
    I am also looking at the Toyota rav4, the Subaru Forester and Outback.
    Thanks for the review and all of the comments!

    What exactly are the details that doesn’t make the rogue premium? You only mentioned the bulbs, really. I checked both the cx50 and the rogue at the dealer and the rogue seemed way more premium. It has more leather, gauge cluster is digital, also check the back doors of the cx-50, I was shocked how cheap they were. Mazda did cut too many corners on this car, but they did spend $5 more on the led interior lights, so that is enough for you to say its “more premium”. Doesn’t make sense to me. Also the rogue is waay quieter than the mazda.

    • @JimmyMak
      @JimmyMak  2 роки тому +1

      It’s more in terms of the quality of everything. The leather. Plastics. Dash. Everything just feels better in the Cx-50. Sure the Rogue has toys like the digital cluster but when you press buttons or turn knobs the cx-50 feels better.

    • @Aymcana
      @Aymcana 2 роки тому

      @@JimmyMak You should have showed it in the video. There is less leather in the mazda. Especially the back doors. When I compared both cars at the dealership, I felt like mazda was cutting too many corners with the interior and the quality in general.
      The cx-5 feels more premium then the cx-50
      But I guess it’s subjective.

      The CX5 is really more of a competitor to the rogue. The CX50 is intended for some comfort and offroad utility. It's trying to split the difference. That's why it tows 3500 lbs and you can put a rooftop tent on it. It's primary purpose isn't to be premium, it's to be comfortable and capable. So the Rogue is more premium. It really was designed to target the CX5 audience, not the CX50 buyer. I think they're 2 different buyers with 2 different objectives.

    Mazda due to reliability ratings. Nissan has really gone down hill while Mazda is just under Toyata now and ties with Honda. If you keep your cars for 10 years odds are the Mazda will still be on the road vs the Rogue
