It never ceases to amaze me how in this regard we are kinder to our animals than we are to ourselves....

This shouldn't even be a debate, if your beloved pet is ill and going to suffer, you are advised to euthanase in the pets best interest but humans have to suffer till the end !? And I've seen it with my own eyes

In Australia we have assisted dying, I 100% agree about having the choice.
Giving consent for a death that is pain and fear free is one of few privileges, a cruel to be kind perspective but a honest one.

You are legally responsible at age 18 for whatever happens in your life.
Why can we not take responsibility for our deaths ?
Why do we have to hand the responsibility to government ?
I'm single with no relatives so why should I not be able to make my own decision.
The legislation is generally made for a very small minority.
Pain is NOT the only issue.

Everybody is a individual, everybody has different circumstances, and views , it should be down to the individual, and capacity

It’s wrong that government has this power over our bodies. We should be allowed to make the choice.
Also the chemotherapy might have prolonged his life a little bit but as someone whose had chemo before I can tell you it would of made the quality of life horrendous. The reason his death was peaceful and pain free was because he chose not to have chemo.

Not government, though they take any Bill through Parliament. However, we have to question what expertise MPs have to debate this.

People still die in pain today (my husband did) you're very lucky to have a peaceful death but not everyone dies peacefully so in my mind everyone should have a choice!

Yep - we should ALL have the choice - it`s OUR life - not the MP`s,not the judges, not the doctors or the clerics - OURS !

If someone is going through extreme pain they should be allowed to go.

Well done GMB! Another instance of giving a corrupt politician access to a large platform.

why do we need to hear Nadine's view on anything? She was a paid MP who never bothered to turn up to parliament or her constituency, why is she so available now?

Life is quality of life, the story about the elderly lady in the home is the exception to the rule, not the rule. Assisted dying is humanity in action if somebody is in agonising pain. Yes strict legislation around it. As the lady said it’s about choice. If people have a choice on abortion which is their Body, then people should have a choice on assisted dying which is also their body. Their choice.

My body, my choice. By all means have legal proofs so no-one is knocking off Granny for her $ss - but M6 life is MY business.

    • @sosoo000
      @sosoo000 10 місяців тому +1

Agree, my body, my choice. if people worry about being knocked off they should be able to have it written explicitly on their medical records - "I do not want treatment to be stopped that could prolong my life". Other people should not have to suffer for those people.

If members of the British Commonwealth - Australia,New Zealand & Canada - who have a justice system built on the UK model can have the right to end THEIR lives as they choose - why can`t people in the UK have the same RIGHT ?!

My mother, Motor Neurone Disease, vowed that she wouldn't die in hospital. She wakened up in a hospital ward tubed. She pulled them out twice. Doctors decided that she had made her choice and didn't impose them again. Basically she then starved to her death. You would be charged if you did this to your pet animal.

This may sound cruel but what i got from this interview is we shouldn't do it because Nadine has a problem with it like when she said he wanted too go but then she was too upset maybe he just stayed around too please her and this seems a theme with a lot of things i see Nadine in if she doesn't like it then we should just not do it but if it was her in that position and she wanted it we should have all stopped what we was doing too make sure she was OK feels too much double standards with her am sorry just how i feel.
