"How many licks does it take to get to the center of a *human skull made of sugar* ?"
42 of course!
How many to reach the center of a regular person's skull?
@@Phred_Phlintstoner 362,891,655
(unless you crunch it.)
@@birdie394 I love the soft prize at the center!
@@ascendedhotdogs5166 mmmmm......
Real talk, that opening scene is glorious.
I love that Jason's scream has been given the official title of "Nord Scream", its like a knock off name for Skyrim's Dragon shouts.
I used to be a rogue, but then Groknar took revenge.
King Olaf’s true forgotten verse
“aaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA”
Next episode of the Modern Rogue: We DDOs-ed UA-cam
oh shit, thought it was my shitty navy base wifi
I mean, uploading a video does create a distributed network of service drain on the server. A DDOS is basically the same thing as just regular content viewing, just spoofed. A denial of service attack is really just intentionally requesting to be overserved, but you can easily have a request for overserving without it being intentional or driven by a botnet
Well I never had it
@@polocatfan Uhh never worked on tech before, it doesnt matter how much money they have, it takes time to fix shit. Diagnosing the problem can take hours or days, and then making a workaround until a fix is found takes ages to set up, program, switch hardware, etc... This shit isn't just magic it's workers comming in at 2 in the morning to fix your FREE SERVICE. The fact they got it up so quick is pretty astonishing.
I love how UA-cam is down, yet I still get forced to watch an ad....
oh thats why I cant watch anything
And here I was thinking there was something wrong with my computer. For fuck's sake, I even closed well over 100 tabs that I was using, restarted my computer, updated it, restarted it again, and then deleted some files just for me to learn that UA-cam's down.
@@saudade7842 that sucks man I did almost the same on phone.
Lol
What add did you get?
8:48 I think Jason's problem was the way the bottle made contact. Sugar or not, I imagine having a glass _puck_ knocking on your skull isn't pleasant.
the problem was the way the bottle was made period lol. i don't think there was a way to get hit with that particular bottle without it leaving a dent. there was a ton of sugar settled on the bottom, you could see it.
he basically got hit in the head with a decent sized rock.
If you would have told me 3 years ago that there was going to be a Modern rogue cinematic universe involving crystal heads and black market thugs...
Well to be honest, I would have probably believed you. But it’s still awesome
"You owe me a head"
Me: wait a minute...
The Modern Rogue is the spiritual successor to the original MythBusters. Perfect Adam and Jamie chemistry.
Modern Rogue's production quality has just been going up and up for a while now, these videos are really entertaining!
Ops manager: puts on safety glasses for impact
Brian: removes glasses for impact
"Kinda like sorbitol?"
"Yes"
Ok, cool. Now I know better than to eat candy glass.
I don't actually know if it's as bad as sorbitol.
Sorbitol the one that make ya poop? EDIT: Googled it, It wasn't the one I was thinking of (maltitol) but it does make you poop.
Glad to see it’s all of UA-cam and not my internet lol
Edit: yay it’s back!
Yeah really, toggled my WiFi on and off several times trying to fix it.
oh christ i’m glad everyone else is having this problem lmao
Lol I was just wondering what is happening
UA-cam can't cope with the mass censorship
Lol I was so scared my internet was down
I love how briefly after discussing how ungodly hot this stuff is, Brian just nonchalantly picks up a string of sugar with his bare hands and plays around with it - I'd be too scared to go near it, I don't care how fast it cools xD
The first thing I thought when I saw the head was “HeY yOu GuUuYs”
I just realized what Cory has embroidered on his vest and I love it
I like how Jason just goes all out in hitting Brian over the head possibly without knowing if it will break but assuming it will. And Brian hits Jason just hard enough for it to break.
It started playing!!! Gotta love being a MODERNNNN ROGUEEEEEEE
youtube may be down but im still here early
Ohhh so I’m not crazy 😂 I restarted my phone
@@dominicmckeough9930 sameeee
It's a crazy time to be alive.
I wish I could watch this...
Lmao you and me both big man
wtf is up with the damn app
Same
Yeah wtf
Same, with the app and on desktop
Is that a Borderlands logo on his coveralls? I like him! Can we keep him?..
Everyone's talking about UA-cam being down.
Me: "that crystal skull is *DEFINITELY* cursed 🤣"
Man I just love the buffering screen 10/10 UA-cam
Thanks for actually doing stuff, not just reading forums.
I love it!
My sons and I have tried so many of these things. Really good ideas to spend time with them
Given all the accidents that happen on this show... I think maybe Brian should wear real shoes sometimes. Those flip-flops make me nervous. If he dropped that skull on his foot... oh man.
there are heavier things that you can drop on your toes just around the house. if you walk around your house in socks or bare feet, you're probably in more danger than Brian is in this video lol
the molten sugar is the only open-toed-shoes concern i'd have, but he's not like walking around with it or anything, so i think it's fine.
@@Anomalocaria I wore protective shoes for my occupation for several years, and they saved my toes many, many times. I would absolutely want to be wearing them if that thing dropped on my toes.
Or, just any covered shoes at all, like I said originally.
@@JustOneAsbesto alright, defensive. do you wear your armored shoes at home too? gotta watch out for those Yankee candles, y'know?
The one time I'm early to an episode, UA-cam says nope.
My UA-cam is broken but at least I'm early
Yes all of UA-cam is down
same
Man i thought it was just my internet
It works again bois
youtube it's self was broken, but i's finally fixed
I looked at the thumbnail of this in my subscriptions, sighed, and thought: of course they did.
Love you guys. You make my day 🤣
The reason break away bottles are expensive online is because they don't use sugar anymore as the sugar doesn't keep long and will cause unused bottles to "go bad" causing a yellow tint and crack. Nowadays special silicone that is brittle and forms safe edges on shards is used. I thing the most common product used to make breakable glass props is called SiliGlass.
I love that they made the bottles different colors. That's so cool
I love the vault symbol that Cory has on his overalls
Loved the ending!
That Nord scream was the best I've ever heard. That is one ad that I actually don't mind watching
Brian defending the TG16 is what really gets me happy.
You guys are awesome you should do let her working
11:47 Actually, SoloLearn actually makes it super simple to learn coding. I’ve studied for half a month now with SoloLearn and I’m almost done learning Java. There’s also a Code Playground, where you can unleash your creativity and you can have discussions with others and there’s even coding challenges sometimes where you can create something basic to use.
Thanks to UA-cam, I can’t watch this right now, but I liked it anyway. It’s Modern Rogue and some kind of head. You know it’s good.
4:39 I love how that scream has been dubbed “the Nord Scream”
Brave of you guys to upload a video of this endlessly spinning circle. Easily the best one yet.
Neat that theyre doing this, I’m a baking and pastry student doing this in class
UA-cam going down has shown my dependency/addiction 😂
god same i just now realised i have a problem
@@Catnippy fr hahahaha
Maybe we all needed this to happen...
Time to watch pluto tv lol
We used to make bottles out of sugar, corn syrup, and cream of tartar for our high school theater department. Downside compared to isomalt is that it's more hygroscopic so the bottles won't keep as long. But it's definitely doable. iirc there's a circa 2007 indymogul video on how to do it.
Finally got to watch this only took 2 hours but yay not a bad vid guys thank you
Little tips. Too thin can cut you, too thick hurts, solid will brain you so don’t do that... Also watch your eyes, ear holes, etc because pieces fly everywhere. If you’re going to put liquids in make sure they are very cold and work quickly. You can add labels to your bottles with glue stick. It can be painted if you want a vase etc.
Great episode!
I love how that scream from the Nord ad is still around and its still hilarious
Yay it’s working!!
I'm viewing it. Brothers. It has returned.
That different strokes part really brought back some memories...
0:14 Imagine hiking trails in the woods late at night and hearing that scream in the distance.
What I would give for an edit of the scene where Indiana Jones is forced to stare into the skull, but its Jason's sugar-glass head spliced in with random quotes playing in a ghostly voice in the background. Just imagine hearing "fruit of the bog" or "the heart is the crunchiest, its what my master always said" and the Nord VPN scream as indy starts having convulsions
Great content as usual.
"did it hurt" well you just hit someone over the head with a giant hard candy what do you think :P
the "harmless" part of fake glass is the fact it doesn't usually kill you and its shards aren't as razor sharp, not that it won't hurt.
especially with those bottles, as soon as the sides shatter the bottom turns into essentially a solid round slab that just carries on from momentum hitting you right with the edge.
jumping through a fake window is about a thousand times more harmless because there you only have to push through a thin sheet instead that can just crumble around you.
Got the mystery box a few days ago, I love it!
How did you get the mega logo
It is in matt's community
@@thebullmoose2660 nice logo)
And same to yoy
Yay youtube's back
You know when a lot of good people are behind a channel when they are liking the video and they can’t even watch it
That's some serious saccharine cranial deformation; you're damn right it belongs in a museum!
Usually when people get hurt by sugar glass it's due to weight or a large impact. But at least it doesn't cut you to ribbons.
I kind of wish this video had been titled "How to make sugar glass" because imagine if that crystal head reveal had been a surprise for the viewers? My sides would have entered orbit.
Pro tip: If you're going to be melting stuff like this, have a large bowl of ice water on hand.
I'll see myself out.
Modern Rogue Breaks the Internet
Its finally working after multiple refreshes.
Can we get a compilation of every time the injury counter went back?
One of the greatest thumbnails of all time.
10:31 "This is an abomination!"
Changeling fail.
"Do not try this at home. Brian and Jason are professional idiots."
Yup, that about sums things up 😂
Isomalt was really popular in the mid west back in the forties iirc, it was used instead of sugar bc real sugar cane sugar was stupid expensive and sugar beets were a very cheap alternative. Funny enough my family were farmers that would grow sugar beets just for the purpose of supplying sugar for the neighboring cities
Yay it’s back!
glad I ain't the only one who has UA-cam down
That facial expression on Jason in slow-mo...
"Hey wait a second, this actually... OWWWWWWW!"
I love your videos guys
Well that's decidedly not the first time Jason has broken a bottle over someone's head... That was concerningly smooth
Oh yeah playing video at 144p cause youtube is having issues I have not had to pause a video to wait for it to buffer in years. This is amazing. Nostalgia.
im really hoping you guys didn't forget that Bill Doran said to make a stone one with that mold because that green one will only be able to be used a couple of times since it's flimsy
Ooohhhh it’s baaaaack
Okay, but you showing us how to do that... now I really want to do that. Sure a friend might be hurt, but that's life!
Good choice of upload time when videos aren’t playing lol
it's *finally* ALIVE
OMG that intro was so cheesy and amazing!
Finally, videos
hey i got my mystery box in the mail, it's awesome!!!
There is a reason professional candy makers frequently have scars from their job. Molten sugar of any kind is no joke.
finally youtube is back
Up next smacking each other with real bottles
It’s back up boys
OMG Brian's pure unadulterated glee!
Would love to watch this new video but UA-cam is down! :(
You guys should do a video on MREs or end of the world food kits. And you could taste them or make your own!
Hey, You Rogues!
I think Goonies was the movie to use at the beginning of the show.

@The Modern Rogue, just so you guys know, you can make napalm by dissolving Styrofoam in gas until no more with dissolve, let it sit for a day, add a little car oil, let it sit for a day, boom napalm
I miss scam school! This takes me back every time.
I am happy this is my first stop after they fixed whatever borked up at the old yoo tubs
