It's sad Ronald disappeared from the Mickey D's commercials. He was cool & I sure do miss seeing him. The Burger King mascot on the other hand, that king is creepy.
Perhaps with laws that limit advertising junk food directly to children, they stopped using characters that appeal to kids... I think that's a good thing honestly. Similar to limits of advertising cigarettes or alcohol. Kids are very impressionable and don't understand how bad the food is that is advertised to them on TV, online and in store.
Thanks for the comment. Yeah, I grew up with the McDonaldland characters and didn’t think much of it, but when you dig into the psychology of marketing that way to kids, it’s a little unsettling..
I can understand that they don’t want to promote unhealthy eating towards kids, but odd how they brought back other McDonald’s Land characters for Grimace’s birthday or the adult happy meals, but no Ronald.
It’s possible the negative reputation clowns have, in 2016 there were numerous creepy clown sightings in certain countries, my guess is McDonalds thought that they had to retire Ronald because of this innocent, which I think it good because after seeing a Tv spot for IT I never looked at clowns the same.
Please come back Ronald, we miss you… 😢
Minimalism and catering to adults, and catering to everyone is making the world a duller place everyday.

They should bring back the Ronald vhs movies. Those were so awesome
Such a huge part of my childhood ❤
IT caused a major decline for the party clown business and makes perfect sense that ol Ronnie would be impacted as well. 🎈

I stopped seeing Ronald during the 2016 clown epidemic. I thought they were connected somehow.

Tell your age,
Which Ronald McDonald was your Ronald McDonald?
Mine was Squire Fridell
I agree. King Moody was pretty good too..
Yet the hamburgers are exactly the same
He choked to death after getting fed a Whopper.
Well has anyone heard of the ‘Woke’ and stereotyping?! Socially now is 🤡👎go home🎉
