I lived with Major in Philadelphia from 2000-2002. I did his hair, sold his cds at his show. I met so many artists through Major. He truly enjoyed performing and meeting people. He was & always will be the "Love Man"!!! Maybe I should write a memoir on those 2 great years...💖💖🌹🌹💖💖
RIP to the late great Major Harris! He passed away on November 9,2012 from congestive heart and lung failure in Richmond,Virginia. He was known for the hit Love Won't Let Me Wait and sang in many groups like the Delfonics,The Charmers,Frankie Lymon and the Teenagers,The Jarmels, and Nat Turner's Rebellion. He was a vocalist and a guitar player. We will miss you! My mom told me she got to see him in concert when he opened for the Ohio Players in the 70s!
I’ll say it again Black music has now gone down the tubes and may never recover. This was back in the day Black music was soooo beautiful. Now forget it.
Yes, the passing of Major is indeed a loss to is all who enjoy and respect the true artistry of a gifted individual. His work with The Defomics and as a solo artist will not be duplicated in our lifetime. Thank you Mr. Harris for your contribution and to the perfection of your craft.
Not even close. This dude was smooth. I remember this song when I was a kid. You knew it was something special even if you didn't completely understand what it was about.
Everytime I listened to this song I got into trouble, especially when my mom heard the woman moaning, lol.... This was the shizznick back in the day, still is today...
How reactionary our parents were. If only they had taken time to reason with us rather than just reacting to a perceived wrong on our part. Adults were always inducing guilt and curiousity in their effort to prevent our unstoppable growth...
At 2:05 you can see he's already taken them home, and he's only half way through the song. I've only ever heard two versions of this song. This one and one by Uncle Luther Vandross. Legends in their time
Love Won't Let Me Wait by Major Harris was such a lovely song and he was such a fine artist! So sad to know he expired in 2012, but that song will live on for many to enjoy. He was also great with the Delfonics, who I saw perform in Wilmington, Delaware back in the late 70s. Miss that talent so much! RIP Mr. Harris
Thank U 4 putting this up. What an exquisite song, performed so beautifully. I just learned Major Harris had died this year(-. We lost a real treasure.
