To those complaining about what Tyler said in the video about how he didn't mention humidity: THIS IS NOT A CARE VIDEO!!!!!! I'm sure he will do one in the future but Tyler is an animal lover who educates himself and others well, BUT ALWAYS DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH. Okay bye.

Wolfsong but he literally said they aren't for beginners. He's not a fucking animal expert. He's introducing us to his new snake. He has no ill intentions in this video. He's not misinforming people, he clearly stated that boas and pythons have different demeanors. It is not his fault if people purchase animals they have no business caring for as it is the responsibility of that person to do their own research. Yes there are people who are dumb and buy animals they don't intend on actually researching because they think they're "cute" or "pretty" but that's not Tyler's responsibility.
yep people will adopt the "cutest" animal and leave the "ugly" and sick animals to die, but then if they are not "cute" anymore they would probably just abandon them

Hi Tyler! Just wanted to let you know that I love your videos and you totally changed my best friend's opinion on snakes. We have a bunch of snakes in our backyard and my best friend was to terrified to come to my house. Then she started watching your videos and she held her first snake a couple days ago! I'm kinda bummed out that you didn't mention this, Tyler, cause it makes me a bit concerned for Aphrodite. But the main reason why BRBs aren't a good snake for beginners is because they need a crazy amount of humidity, like 90%, all the time, or they can get dehydrated and die within a couple days. They are native to the amazon rainforest, as their name suggests. And if you're not experienced enough in keeping snakes, you won't know the best ways to keep the humidity up in your tank and the signs of a dehydrated snake.

It's not that hard to keep up humidity, even if you've never had snakes before :P
Yeah I was kinda waiting to hear it as well. But if you do your research and get the right caging and such it shouldn't be too much of a problem.
He knows that, don't worry. Besides, as long as you have a reptifogger it won't be hard at all to keep the humidity up.

Pedro Augusto de Paula I love living in a country that allows me too have any snake without it being a crime. It sucks that you can only have boas, what's the harm in having a ball python or a corn snake if it's YOUR pet and it isn't in the wild?

They really aren't beginner pets because of the humidity they need. My first snake ever was a rainbow and he was and still is my most consistent feeder and my hardiest snake. But they aren't like that unless their humidity needs are met.

Why is there so many people correcting and calling his information "fake". For gods sakes he loves his animals and gives them proper care. The reason he didn't say every detail that you need to know about the animal is because it's not a care guide it's a meet my new snake!! IMPORTANT CARE INFO: I even had a reptile store clerk argue with me about this. I keep UVB bulbs on both of my snakes during the day. Most "experts " will say that snakes don't need them. I just adopted Colombian Rainbow Boa and the previous owner didn't keep any light on her. She was almost solid burnt orange color so I thought she was some type of color morph but after just three weeks of UVB bulb her pattern has come out and woo boy if I thought she was gorgeous before!

My first snake was a Rosy boa. Super chill snake. Boas are fairly docile. It all depends on how you handle it though but that is kinda the same with all snakes

What is the best way to make sure you do not have humidity problems? Is it, the enclosure type? Most people go for the classic glass setup, and I know that maintaining humidity and heat is problematic in that way. Of course you can do the tub route, PVC, melamine, wooden vivarium? But specifically, for RBoas, what's optimal? Thanks a lot!

Brazilian rainbows are beautiful and your new baby is no exception! But I've always been hesitant since they can dehydrate extremely quickly (hydrated to dead in a matter of days).

We got a brazilian rainbowboa as our first snake, and he is the sweetest thing.
He didnt bit me at all, and even if he will bite me, I dont care, it will not hurt that bad because he is too small to hurt me.
And as long as we leave him alone when hes mad and handle him a few times, he will propably not bite.
