Do not add a transition between frames, as this causes a jitter. It might look strange in Canva, but it all works fine without the transition when exported.
Starting with a video template will allow you to have more control over when your text or elements are displayed on the screen.

Man, you relieve my headache. Thanks a lot.
Thanks Darren - U da man! I could not figure out what to do and all my searches came up empty because I was using the wrong words - so thank you
There’s a new way of doing this now. When you select elements, right click and choose show timing. You can then adjust the timing of the elements.
AWESOME TIPS! NEW SUBSCRIBER here. Been looking for this. THANKS SO MUCH DARREN.
That's a genius advice! Thanks you so much! I was wondering how to do that for some time in Canva
Check out the new element timing options. You no longer need to split the video.
Thank you so much!
nice thanks man. I also had that glitch in the editor, but it was smooth on the downloaded version. Many thanks, hope you enjoyed your pie.
It was delicious. Thank you 😊

Thanks a lot. It helped me with the video editing. I got a question: Is there a possibility to lock a audio to a specific video, so that even if I add any videos earlier to it the audio is locked to it.
Not that I know of
Thanks.
Thank you Thank you Thank you!
Great video
How to play animation just once not looping all the time? Thank you
Good stuff... But how to I make the elements slide in slow? they seem to slide into the video to quickly
I really wanted this info for the longest time, thank you very much?
One more thing though... How and what did use to create this video? Loved how your image was zooming in
I use ScreenFlow for my video editing. It’s a Mac only program. I’m also just having a look at descript.
love you
That glitch you talk about is present when you export it but in the form of just a crack noise. Canva have acknowledged this problem but said they "can't prioritise" fixing it due to "limitations on their end". They have now closed the ticket without any date for resolution of this issue. Really wish I had bought Davinci Resolve.
You can still use Davinci it’s free. I’d use that for pro video editing over Canva, as it can be used offline. I have also recently been using CapCut and a little bit of Descript.
He is talking about videos. I need to increase autoplay from 5 seconds to 8 seconds photo only. Anyone know how that is done?
Hi Darren!
Your explanation was very insightful! Thanks!
Could you please help me if i can do individual transition/animation to text in canva?
Say, I am writing 'can you please help', now here I want to first animate 'Can you' and after - 2-3 seconds i want to animate 'please help'. I hope you are getting me?
What i mean is, i dont want to have the whole content animated at once. I want to give some time lapse in between the content.

My video, after download still glitches. Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I've followed this step by step.
This has changed a little since I did this video. Have a watch of the new recent videos I did on animation and also video in Canva. This should help you.
Why does my audio disappear when adding elements/texts with animations??
Is it disappearing or going thin? Sometimes you have to zoom on the timeline.
Hi Darren-awesome channel! I'm trying to do something similar. How would I have one photo (Breathe animation) and two different headlines that animate (Rise)-but I don't want the one photo animation to "glitch/restart" when the second headline comes in?
For this you would have to add the breath animation to your video. Export the video and then re import it. This will allow you to split up the animation. I’ve not tried this, but this is how I would think it would work.
@@DarrenM Ah, I hadn't thought of that. I'll give that a try-thank you!!
i dig the mug xd
Thanks 😊
Hey Darren, The thing you call the NOBLE is there a way to move it one frame at a time? Say maybe with the arrow keys.
Not at the moment. Keep your eye out for more on elements soon. ;-)
this didnt work for me when trying to use the zoom out animation
Some of the features are pro. If it has a crown 👑 it’s a pro option.
hi all, just want to inquiry. i have done one video (youtube at canva)when i downloaded the file, when i play the video, its not tally with the slide and music i play. before i check (the video is 100% perfect) after downaloded video the time duration music and slide is out. can anyone help ?
Sounds like a support question for Canva team.
Can you change the timing of the element, so if you want the element to appear faster or slower
Not right now. This is the only workaround. I’m hoping Canva add timing later this year.
My biggest pet peeve is that the element animation comes in AND out automatically at the end of each slide or split making layered effects in a particular order seemingly impossible. Does that make sense? Am I missing something? I would like to be able to animate my elements IN in a particular order and not have them automatically animate out at the end of the slide. Is this something that is still not possible in Canva? Does anyone have any tips or updates on that?
Hopefully this is something Canva will change later this year. It’s very frustrating and this is the only work around I’ve figured out.
Not sure if this is a recent update or not, but I do see a choice to Animate In or Animate Out or Both. Is this what you were looking for?
@@azn2sun YAS!
@@nieszkako LOL yayy!! And no problem! glad your dream came true lol
How do you adjust the timing of appearance of one video over another?
Does this video help? ua-cam.com/video/sDnWpLLG0xk/v-deo.html
Canva doesn't have the "group" icon anymore.. so idk what to do, but I am sure this was probably helpful then
Group shows when you select more than one item. But they have to be selected for group to show up.
Hello Darren, how about when I want to add an animation that should move on my video, not stay in one place? Can you help me please?
Do you mean like stop motion? You’d have to treat each movement like you would in stop motion. So each movement on a different page.
Is there any way to have an element locked in a video? I'm trying to point at an object in my video with a line. But I can't get it to remain over the object I'm trying to highlight. If that makes sense.
You can select an item and choose lock. But I'm not sure this is exactly what you want to do.
I want to do a video overlay, I use the background in elements, and then cut the video length, then use showtime, Every Time I go to adjust the clip location in the video canva deletes everything. How do I fix this? Do I have to spit it?
Are you starting with a video timeline? I have a full video on using the video editor in Canva here ua-cam.com/video/aliih2IbAkI/v-deo.html
Why do I need to move the other pics just to tap the first ones that are topped by recent pics in one clip 😭 I just want to use the show timing option
Use the new layers panel to select the elements you want without needing to move things about b
My main problem is that if I am using many elements on one slide, I am not able to control the order of each one ..... enter and exit time
Use the new element timing option. You can see it in this update video Full Element Timing in Canva - First Look | New Canva Updates
ua-cam.com/video/cycgDlVRTWA/v-deo.html
Might as well split video first then add the elements later.
You do you. Which ever way works best for you is the best way to do it. There is more than one way to do something sometimes. Have an awesome day and keep on going.
Can you do this in a regular presentation?
Nope. You have to start with a video template and then resize if needed.
Mine continue to glitch after downloading! Each video is glitching :(
Oh no. It’s worth contacting Canva support and they will be able to look in to this. As this shouldn’t be happening.
Hi Darren, im still having the issue where it is flickering/glitching between splits, am i doing something wrong?
Are you using animate in and out? You should only use animate in on the first clip. Play about with this as an option and let me know.
Of course I have to be the one that runs into an issue immediately as soon as you start the tutorial. I do not have or see anywhere a "group/ungroup" button. Yes, I have Canva Pro, yes I'm starting a video template, yes I have a video background and a text box. What the heck am I missing?
You need to select multiple items for it to show up.
Thank you for the video Sir! Although my only question is: Is the “Group” button will appear only on Premium versions? Because I can’t seem to find it when I’m trying to use it. Only the “Position” is appearing. :((
The group button isn’t a pro only feature. Select two or more items to group them.
I can’t find it too
My video still glitches like that after the download?
Might be worth reporting that to support.
When you are creating an Instagram template, can you adjust when a specific animation starts and stops in canva?
Only using the method shown in this video. You’ll have to split the frames. But start with a video template to get the video options and timeline.
@@DarrenM Awesome, thank you so much
still glitching after download :( can you help me for remove this glitching
Try Canva support.
I don’t have a group button
You have to select multiple items. Are you on a browser version of Canva? or mobile? it works slightly different on each.
I cannot increase the duration of the Canva video, I have 3 clips and each of them allows me to increase it, for example, 1 clip is 7 seconds, the other clip is 12 seconds, and the other is 30 seconds long.
How can I remove this limit and increase the duration that I want for each clip?
Make sure you are in the timeline view to extend the length of the video.
Yes I'm sure about that, that's why I said I can't make the videos longer anyway.
The 3 clips are 3 seconds long by default.
1 Clip lets me extend it up to 7 seconds, the other up to 16 and the other up to 35, why is that? Shouldn't I be able to extend the length of each clip as I please?@@DarrenM
👏👏👏
Looks like the bad hair days are not only on the weekend
🤣 what ever do you mean lol
There are no options in Canva compare to kinemaster provides..
I hear you. I think there will be a lot more updates as this feature is updated. I think it's more geared towards adding animation to social media and not a full video editing suite. Kinemaster is just a video editing app, so I guess looking the other way, Kinemaster is more limited. :-) Hope this helps and let me know if you have any questions. :-)
@@DarrenM yes. Thank you. I always prefer Canva. But while making quiz videos we need to make lot of splits to enter text one after one.

@@tanishkpandey6801 sounds like your timing is off some how. Every time I’ve done this it’s been ok. Might be worth reporting to Canva support.
