I gave watched hundred of Canva tutorials and your is, by far, the best. Your slow pacing and review again afterwards is EXACTLY what this brain needed to understand these concepts. THANK YOU. Subscribing and binge watching your videos next!
Thank you for your very kind comments, I appreciate it. I'm working hard on keeping everyone updated with all the new releases. I hope you enjoy them.

Aren't they great? Let me know what you think once you've had chance to test timings out!
Absolutely loved your way of explaining it. I saw a few videos and was just too darn confused. Much appreciated, thank you.
You're very kind, thank you.
Thanks Nicky! You made the steps crystal clear.
Ahh, bless you Ileane! Thank you for your lovely comment 😊
Nice addition..Canva just keeps geting better and better, thanks for bringing to our attention 🙂

Nicky! Thank you so much for posting this video! The element timing feature is going to save me so much time!💖😊
Thanks for watching Laura; yes this feature will help create some very pro graphics very easily!
@@NickyPasquier Thanks, I tried it on my latest video. So much easier than splitting scenes/pages, etc. Thanks again for sharing this with us 🤩
thank you so much! god bless you! I was searching all over UA-cam for this timeline feature in Canva. video editing is very difficult without a timeline interface. I thought Canva had yet to bring this into their software. but just found your video and it saved my life! no need to go for any other video editing app! Love Canva ❤💜
Thank you for watching! I'm so happy you discovered Canva; I hope it help you to create amazing video content 💖
Amazing, that's the video tutorial I've been looking for for WEEKS. Thank you!
Ah, bless you. I'm glad you found my tutorial eventually ✨
Thank you! Exactly what I needed help in. Explained everything perfectly!
Thanks for watching Melanie!
Fantastic video!! Thank you so much!!! That's exactly what I needed to learn :)
You're very welcome 😀
Thanks Nicky !
How beautifully explained 😍😍😍😍
This was exactly what I needed. I may have never found the element layering button in the timing toolbar without you. 👀
Thank you! I use this tip so many times when I create content 💫
Thank you so much for this video! 🙏🏿
Thank you for watching 😀
Thanks! This was really helpful ❤
You're very welcome 🙏🏼
Thanks Nicky, it solved my problem
Is there a way to keep “show timing”always on? It is so frustrating having to go click “show timing” incessantly.
Yes, just follow my instructions and the elements you want to add timings to will remain at the top of the video editor.
Great video. I was struggling with element timings, but no more now !! ✌✌💯💯
Whoop, that's great to hear 🥳🥳
Brilliant video - thanks, so glad I've found you
Welcome to my channel, I hope you find my tutorials helpful!
Well put. Love it
Thank you Lydia 😄
Phenomenal!!! I can't wait to try it!
I would think that if you don't want the text to appear for all 1 minute video; you can slide the end of the bar to the left to shorten the length of time that the text would appear, correct??
Thanks Nicky. This really helped me make my vids more professional.
That's wonderful to hear!
Thank you this is just what I needed!
So happy to hear this! Apologies for the delay in replying, I've been overseas.
Te felicito. He visto varios tutoriales acerca del mismo proceso; ninguno tan claro como el tuyo.🧡
I'm so sorry I don't speak Spanish but I think I understand you. Thank you!
Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! Explanation. Many Thanks.
Glad it was helpful! 😊
Thank you so much for your super useful video.
I like your style ... straight to the point without useless bla bla bla !!!
My pleasure
Thank you so much, very helpful🌹
You're very welcome 😘
YOU SAVED MY DAY!!!! Thank you
So pleased to hear that - thanks for watching!
Thanks a lot!! Nicky
My pleasure 😀
Thank you! It would've taken me ages to figure that out on my own (if I ever did).
It's like everything, isn't it? Easy when you know how ;)
You have such an easy to understand way of presenting things. I’ve gotten more out of your videos in much less time. Thank you.
You're very welcome, William. Thanks for watching.
Nice and easy! Thanks
Thanks Sanchay 😊
This was SO useful!!!! I am a teacher trying to implement flipped classroom and this was a lifesaver!
Oh wow!! What's a flipped classroom? Sorry, I'm not a teacher 😬
@@NickyPasquier It's a methodology where students "take the class" at home with videos and then do the homework in the classroom so they can clarify their doubts, so this was sooo helpful for the video part!!
Thank you for the video, it was exactly what i was searching for!! :) but i wanted to share that i like your voice so much. Very detailed and easy to understand. You should give voices to movies like Harry Potter...Your voice reminds me of a voice of one of the wizard teachers from Hogwarts :)
Haha, you're very kind, thank you. Believe it or not I've never watched a Harry Potter film. I hope the wizard teachers are friendly characters! 🧙🏻♀️
@@NickyPasquier Hehe, i dont know why but i had some feeling you never watched it. I loved first 2 movies. You should definitely see about going on voice auditions for cartoons .hehe
Looks interesting. I think it will surely help me.
I hope so!
Nicky is cool and the best
Thank you so much!! u saved my life!!
You're very welcome!
This is a great tutorial! How do you change the speed of a video element? Say you inserted a video from the "Elements" section as a B-roll. How do you change only this element to x0.5 speed while keeping the entire video speed the same? I don't know if there's a way to do it. :(
You rock!
Thank you!
a very good lesson
Thank you! 😃
Thank You :)
You're welcome 😊
Thanks a lot
You're welcome ;)
I think Canvas could add a numbering in the timeline when we expand the element time timeline, so we know what is coming first and afterwards, SOme times we move elements up and down on the screen and it might mess up the order in the timeline, last in the timeline not necessarily the last on the screen if you guys know what I meant. A feedback for Canva ppl.
Hi Loiana, that's a really good point you make; I'm going to forward it on to Canva. Thanks!
@@NickyPasquier just to say I love your videos and learn a lot from you!
Great vid.
I was wondering how do you add a time bar/line within the actual video so people know when a slide is going to end before the next one starts?
Also, when adding an audio and voice over track together, is there a way to lower the audio track (or background noise), automatically instead of having to splice and do each slide manually? Many thanks!
Your first question requires an entire tutorial, so it's not a quick answer. Sorry! Using a video template just drag & drop multiple audio tracks onto the timeline. Each track can be edited separately, so adjust the volume, fade in / out etc.
good one
Thanks.
i love this trick mom
This is FABULOUS thank you so much! One question, do you know if you can click your mouse to initiate the text on screen, ie when you're presenting? So I don't have to limit myself to specific timings on the presentation. Thank you, love your style!
Thank you for your kind comments! Unfortunately you cannot change the timings 'on click', as it were, in the same way as you would do a PPT presentation. We've asked Canva for this feature to be added, so they're aware it's something users would like to see. I'll ask again ;)
Thank you for getting back to me so quickly! Oooo, yes come on Canva!! haha @@NickyPasquier
@@laurahumphreyshealth2385 I've made a request again. Let's see what's in Canva's box of tricks this year ✨️
Super helpful! Thank you - I realized "Show Timing" is only visible & usable if you are using a "Video" type of post - does not work on regular post types or Presentation
Yes, that's what I mentioned in the tutorial, you must be using a video template ;)
@@NickyPasquier haha I completely missed it - thank you again, this was one of the most informative Canva tutorials - I wish you had the tip button activated
Is that also working on presentations? I basically want to add in elements on click
Yep, even in presentations, but as I mentioned in the tutorial, it needs to be a video template
That's IT!!! "show timing"!!!! That's what I needed!!!Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Did you have an "Aha!" moment? These timed elements are so good, aren't they?
@@NickyPasquier yes; they are!!! But you're a good teacher!!
@@NickyPasquier they are hard to find, tho!!
@@carpediemwithLesli nothing is perfect :)
I am impressed. You are so easy to understand and follow. You are very thorough, and you have a nice, gentle cadence. Your use of visuals (the zoom feature, etc.) is very clear and useful. You are a great instructor. (I am a teacher, also.). In appreciation, I will use your 45-day trial link.
Thank you so much for your very kind comments. Enjoy Canva Pro, you're just in time to benefit from all the new Magic Studio features ✨
Gentle Cadence...that's a perfect description !
In order to introduce text animations with timing conditions in the middle or later in the video; I think I need to have transitions between the different scenes?
That's entirely up to you ;)
Hie, loved you videos, I know this is very late and may seem like a silly question but I need help with something. I am trying to use different text animations for a reel video. As I add more text, placed in the same place, they keep overlapping, is there possibly a way for me to "hide" and "switch off" the other text layers so I can edit it. Is this possible?
Sorry , I don't really understand what you're trying to do.
Great presentations in all of your videos!!! Could you do a video to show how to make your presentations playable on both mobile and computer? Thanks!!!
Hi John, I'll certainly do my best!
@@NickyPasquier Thanks, I love having "Mary Poppins" as a video presenter 🙂
I like your voice and the way you speek
felt like telling a story😅
One thing that may or may not have been mentioned (sorry if it was) this doesn't work if you resize it. Show Timing comes up when you use Video, Movie, Facebook Video, or Mobile Video but only if you leave them the size they are. If I changed the size it didn't matter if right clicked, control right clicked, highlighted everything, highlighted nothing, it just wouldn't work. I was making something for Instagram so once I switched from the resized Video template to Facebook Video all I had to was right click on any of the elements and it came up.
And this is why I stressed that a video template must be used. HOWEVER...there is a brand new Canva feature which changes all of that. I have a Canva Video Editing course launching in Seotember (shameless plug!) so if you're interested in joining the Early Bird list, let me know 😉
Nicky
Very good video and i want to check if it works only in Video ?
Yes, you must be using a video file.
Hi Nicky - I'm new to your page. Thank you for the amazing content. I have a canva subscription and I've been tring to figure out HOW to get text to appear then dissapear all in the same video or clip. I think your video here answers my question but unfortuantely, I canot get the 'show timing' element to STAY put. It ALWAYS dissapears on my mobile. Unfortunately I cannot do this on my desktop beacause the videos will not upload. Any ideas how to get the 'show timing' bar(s) to stay put and/ or get them to 'come back'? Even when I select 'hide timing' then 'show timing' again - it doesn't come back unless I trash the project and start a new one.
Hi Felicia, thank you for your very kind comments. I think you might need to contact Canva support as this sounds like a technical glitch. It might be worth checking your Canva app is up-to-date first though. This can make a lot of difference.
I feel you should have way more followers and definitely way more likes per video! Drives me crazy that people will watch a video and can’t even smash the like button! Like it changed their credit score if they do or they have to pay for each like they use 🤦♀️
You're very kind, Dawn, thank you for making my day 😊
2h looking for where the timing bar was + 580ys trying to find it on internet. thank you!
Was it that bad?! I'm glad my tutorial helped ;)
i followed through all the steps and got it up until the right-click point where the list of options shows, but I am not sure why the "show timing" option isn't on my drop-down list. do I have to be on the pro version to see it?
Hi there, well Canva has changed the layout slightly. So highlight the elements with your cursor & let go. Now click on the 3 little dots in the floating menu. You'll find Show Timings in that menu 💜
What if I want one element to be visible through only specific clips only say clips 2-9 when I have 13 clips? then what do i do?
Then add the correct timing, as I show you ;)
Thank you❤ I was planning on leaving canva until i found your video.
Wonderful, I'm so pleased to hear this 😀. What do you use Canva for?
@@NickyPasquier I use canva for video editing and creating thumbnails for my othe yutube channels
@@CanadaPinoyInsights excellent! Happy creating
For me it isn't there when I right-click on the elements with animations, has it moved?
Watch again, you're missing an important step ;)
Amazing how tricky they make it to access layers
Layers are in the Canva toolbar; I think they're very easy to access.
Is there a way to save the presentation with the page animation still intact?
Yes download as an MP4 video ;)
Can I export the exact same features to a powerpoint?
Maybe, but there's little point since you can build a sequence of elements & animations in PPT.
What if i want show timings on instagram story size ?
You can use the timings on any video template.
In my Canva Pro, there is no Show Time.. how to add Show Time option?
I think you've missed a step. Try watching again.
I did everything you said, but I don't see element timing in the menu.
I did explain in the video ;)
@@NickyPasquier I don't see "show timing."
@@hollowayquotes Me neither
I had the same problem and solved it by recognizing that, from the start, my Design was an Instagram Story rather than a Video? When I went back it started as a video, placed my elements on top of it, and then right clicked on the elements, "show timings" now appeared in the dropdown menu.
Come to the point 10:51 and Thanks to Aunty Nicky
When you can create a successful YT channel, I might consider listening to you. Until then...

There is no "show timing" when you right-click or ctrl-click on mac. Like it literally does not exist.
