Amanda's First Paddle

- Since the first moment I sat in a canoe, 42 years ago now, I've loved every minute on the water. It's something I've always loved sharing with others, but rarely get to do.
A little nervous to start with, the river is wide, deep and has a decent flow, Amanda soon settled in and with a little practice is going to make my life easier as I lay back and let her paddle...ok, maybe not. We'll need a good few more practise runs before we risk taking the Patch out for sure.
That looks amazing. Well done to Amanda for having a go as well. It’s well out of a lot of people’s comfort zone.
She did brilliantly and got a lot of confidence from it.
Ah looked like an amazing day out! I’m glad Amanda enjoyed it and wasn’t sick 😂🤣
Congratulations on becoming grandparents that’s wonderful! Can’t beat squishing babies 😂🤣😂
Lots of love to you both xx
It was a pretty good day, you and Jason should come up for a paddle. I've a spare canoe and paddles you can use.
@@rialobran I will absolutely hold you to that as soon as my back is better! I’d love that thank you!! 😍🥰🥰
@@ksgonewild No worries, just get better.
@@rialobran I’m trying!! MRI on 19th xx
Thank you mate! Loved the video, Can’t wait to see Patch in one next time
He'll be in most videos mate don't worry, just not canoe videos for a while...need to build your mother's confidence first...and mine, lol
That's just great!! That's pretty special to share a first canoe experience with someone. Hats off to you guys. Other than the traffic jam, it looked like a fantastic day out there.
She did very well, as soon as she has some confidence we'll be trying it with the husky...I don't hold out hopes of staying dry, lol.
A wonderful canoe trip with Amanda! Thank you for taking me along. Cheers!
Thank you for coming along
@@rialobran You're very welcome!
Brilliant stuff and congratulations Connor n Rosie. Beautiful place to explore. Love it down there on those estuaries. Long time since I've been but had some great trips.
Look forward to your camping adventures. Atb Rick n Billydog
Thanks Rick, I'm just hoping the husky is as quiet as Billy in the canoe. I get the feeling he wont be. 🤔
@rialobran Haha yeh lol, he's a big lad too 🤣. Good luck Simon 🤞
Looks like you both had a great time.
We did, what's not to like in sunshine on the water.
Congrats on the first canoe trip Amanda!
She did ok, nervous at first but soon got into it.
Well done Amanda!! Takes some going your first canoe trip, very exciting though eh! Nice bit of steak n popeye fuel there 😆. I'll look forward to your first canoe camp together ❤️
She enjoyed it a lot mate, but it'll be a while before we do a camp, next thing is to work out how to get the dog in and sitting still.
Amanda did great! Beauty spot for a bbq Si! Thanks for taking us along. You’re the man Brother! 😂
She did pretty well, but think we'll have similar problems with the dog that you encountered with Storm.
@@rialobran Hopefully Amanda won’t be swimming behind the canoe like Storm 😂
Love the banter, being on the river is great but I have no idea why folk want to make noise in lovely places. LOL
I've no idea either, further up away from the houses it's very quiet though. As for the banter...it's non stop between us...well she doesn't stop
Well done both. And congrats.
Thank you
Love the canoe!! Looks good! Nice video!!
Thank you
@@rialobran Anytime!
a wonderful day for some wonderful people
Thank you
Great first trip you two sound like me and my missus constant daft squabbling.
Lol, she's a handful for sure.
Awesome day out beauty barbecue
Cheers Eze, nice spot for a first timer in a canoe.
Well done Amanda.. just realised I've got this to come oh shift 😍😂
She did great, though to be fair the conditions were nearly perfect. Hope your trip goes well, it's the best mode of transport invented.
True ime loving mine.i only got one because of yourself and Rick Turner.and the Scottish trip for dementia although I've secretly desired one for ten years or so...ime just about being able to stay in mine now I did quite a few dunks at first found the ballance difficult .just started enjoying the journey and quite in it and the Mrs says she wants to come.😂😂.ime thinking her first outing might have to be loch Ness in winter😂😎😁
@@desmondbroad1305 What canoe did you get? Keep at it and I hope you get the wife into it too, it's much easier with two people. Something I'm going to have to get used to after many years of solo paddling. I may make a video of the very basics of canoeing and what not to do. Not sure how interesting/helpful that would be.
Hi Simon thanks for the reply.i bought a new pelican ram x the widest one it's very wide in the middle and has a massive capacity.ime hoping do some trips with one of our dogs or even all three😂.and enough gear for a weekish...i had a bad head injury a while ago and it' effects my balance so i got the big one hoping to be more stable.i did find it quite rolly because of my balance...at first .I couldn't stay init. Slightly better now though😂😁.i used do white water in a pryanha years ago so I didn't no what to expect.its been a great learning curve so far ime out about twice monthly at the moment thanks
Thanks Simon I watched tons of how to videos on UA-cam I found the best one to be ray Goodwin he's got some really informative films on here ....
What a beautiful location and weather 👌
Thanks, I had nothing to do with either the location or weather, lol.
@@rialobran haha 😜 looks like Amanda enjoyed it, I’m glad her sea sickness held off….. you need a bigger canoe 🛶 for patch 😊
Amanda looks like a wild one I'd be wary
Lol, she's more feral than truly wild I'd say
