I have a pair of art 915 and I notice that the highs takes over everything even with boost turned on. I always have to reduce highs and mids from the mixing board. low end is there, but highs are too strong in my opinion
I can't say that I've had that exact issue yet. I do turn the highs down a smidge once it's open dancing. The highs are a lot cleaner on the RCF compared to the ZLX and the EKX15. A digital mixer works wonders on RCF, that's what was used for testing.
ZLX series does hit the limit pretty quickly, I recommend pairing the 12s up with a pair of 15" subs. I still enjoy using my RCF 915, I do use them with and without subs. If you need more in a top especially low end so you don't have to buy a sub, then I recommend the 935 and up, Yamaha DZR15, and EV ETX have all been really good. Let me know if you have any more questions!
@@thedjtrick thank you for the response . I am currently in the market and was trying to decide between the below options. I do Bollywood dance parties and mix of corporate style speech events. What’s your recommendation 1) pair of RCF 915 Ax( easier on the budget, possibly may not need to lug around a sub) 2) pair of 912’s with a single 705as 2 sub 3) pair of 945’s ( exceeds my budget , I can make it but won’t have any room for subs but I heard they are even good without subs)
@DJDesiEvents those are some great options! I dj events from guest count of 150-500 so I always recommend the loudest speakers any DJ can afford bc its easy to turn down the volume but once you've hit limit and you need more, then thats it. I've done two bollywood events and both required the best speakers I own, so RCF 915 & my QSC 181 (18") subs. Those two combined did the job amazingly well for the style of music up to 300 guest. If you could swing the 945s and possibly rent one sub or two, that's the route I would go. If you are consistently doing events under guest count of 225 and rarely over that, then 912s and 705as will do the job. I like to try and get by with just my tops if possible and add a sub or two if needed. I would recommend checking out FBT subs. FBT are Italian made like RCF but minus the large price tag.
