Legit, I dated a girl who did CrossFit. And to say she treated it like a religion is an understatement. Quite literally, there were times where we would meet new friends just being out and about and she would be like, “hello. My name is… And I do CrossFit”. And I’m just like “babe, look I love working out just as much as the next person, but that’s not how you introduce yourself”. Like I love working out. Working out, of any kind really, particularly things like swimming, climbing, boxing, etc., has countless health benefits. I even got my fiancé working out and she loves it. We actually haven’t been to the gym in a while and she tells me all the time how much she misses it. But CrossFit, they are damn near cult like. I don’t even think bodybuilding, like Arnold style bodybuilding, is even in the same category as CrossFit. Like I heard somebody say one time that you always know when you’re in a room with a CrossFitter because that’s the first thing they’ve told you about themselves. And, at least from my experience, they’re almost always wearing some sort of training gear. Even when they’re just out and about “relaxing”. And people who say that are not lying. That is not an exaggeration. Hell, she even messed up her thumb really bad one time doing a lift and I’m pretty sure she broke it or fractured it but she lied to her doctor so she could continue working out. Not taking into consideration the long-term effects that could come from that.

@ actually I took a few free week trials at different dojos in my hometown and they weren’t actually that bad. Only reason I didn’t go back is cause I couldn’t afford it. Damn near $200 a month for 1 person🤯 but they don’t treat it like a religion. They go in, do their workout, tap someone out or get tapped out themselves, get changed, and go out for drinks😅 at least from my experience anyways

Ok I agree there is some major deficiencies with basic calisthenics in CrossFit with the kipping pullups BUT chest to bar pullups are fucking hard and even with a kip you gotta be pretty fit and strong to do those, the trolls can shut their fucking mouths when it comes to chest to bar* pullups cause those are legitimately hard. Practicing slow strict pullups is a great way to build foundational strength no doubt. People shouldn't be doing kipping pullups if they can't do a strict pullup first.

@@tobe1207 uh sure, but the entire population can’t all be their own cattle farmers bro. That’s not even remotely practical. Just because Joe believes something doesn’t make it factual. And How is what the OP said “propaganda”? Everything he stated is verifiably true. High meat based diets, especially red meats are correlated with higher rates of heart disease. This is a fact. Natural carnivores can’t even develop atherosclerosis, yet heart disease is our number one killer. We’re clearly not supposed to be eating a lot of meat.

Exactly! Joe has always been the stereotypical meathead in that regard. The longest living populations are primarily plant based with moderate intakes of fish. Blue zones etc.

That's why Bill hasn't been on in a few years. Bill has performed at the Mothership and said it's the best comedy club he's ever been in. There's no beef. They're just both very busy. When the schedules line up, we'll see him on JRE again.
