    Hey Travis,
    I'm currently setting up a 280 gal peninsula display. 72x36x25. What are your thoughts on running the duel returns down the length of the tank, 72 inches, and turning them 180° to send the flow back towards the overflow? Was thinking this would maybe give enough flow so I wouldn't have to use pumps on that viewing panel. I'm going to hard plumb everything except those long runs where I'll probably use a flexible tubing. I'm thinking of keeping the flex tubing on top of the euro bracing as I will have a hood to hide it all. I will be using 2 return pumps, one for each return. Just wanted your opinion on this idea.
    Thanks for your service to our Country man.

      If it's sitting on top of eurobrace use hard plumbing. Will never leak. Or use loc line. Modular.
      Then you can run 1in locline and have half inch returns shoot of it.

      Oh, and I’m testing the new WiFi MOW-22s (Jebao) to see if they do better. Jebao told me they are all new designs so we’ll see…

    Hey I sent you a question before I’m not sure if you got a chance to answer it but where do you get those coral frag tubs not sure what to call them at I can’t find a store that sells them the big blue trough

    Man I wish Red Sea or Waterbox or someone made an off the shelf 300G tank. I looked at the Custom Aquarium site and it just seem too off the rails for me. I need something a bit more easier to set up.

    Sicce pumps are pretty good, all depends how much money you wanna spend. But warranty can't be matched on Sicce. I still rather buy 3 Jebao pumps instead of 1 vortech lol.

    I want to go bigger of course, who doesn't. Should I go bigger if I'm renting a place or wait to get my house in a year or two. Currently have a 93 gal (36"x24"x25") display and just found a steal on a 40 gal frag tank (48"x18"x12") just curious if you would just work with what I have and wait to go bigger later. What would you do if you were in my shoes?

    • @opethmike
      @opethmike 3 роки тому +1

      Renting, I'd hold off on going bigger, especially as it sounds like you already have plans to get your own house. Wouldn't have to move an existing, large tank in that scenario.

    Funny thing, I run 2 cp40 gyres, 2 sow 15, 2 slw20 powerheads from jebao for the past 4 years with no issues at all. On my new 1200gal system, 400g and 320g displays, I added the sow20 powerheads. (9 months old) and 4 mcd10000 return pumps on closed loop, no issues at all with any of them.
    I believe you chose to use a bad model in the line and have judged the entire powerhead line off that poor choice.

      @@FishOfHex only one you seemed to have used in your vids are the ow or the older one that I don't recall the name of. The newest ones have wifi app control and even lcd screen wired controllers too.
      It's much like comparing an old version of a car to a new version. Example Hyundai used to make pos cars, judging Hyundai today products by them would be misleading or worse....

    • @FishOfHex

    • @pjshooter6
      @pjshooter6 3 роки тому

      @@FishOfHex nope doesn't touch my feelings, but I hate hearing the bandwagon crap pushing over priced name brand crap that we all know fails just as often if not more then the China brand crap. Weekly I see people posting looking for mp40 wet or dry sides, or complaining about having to send them back for repairs. The worst is the rusting issues which I see a ton of same with the vectra return pumps that seem to fail on a regular basis. I would rather pay for high end sps and use jebao powerheads then spend big money on name brand powerheads and have cheap corals..
