Thank you very much! I know have a better understanding of how to use AI for laser engraving and I am also aware of the technique on how to prepare my image. Great teacher Justin and great informative video as usual. :)
Hey, great video. QUESTION, is this the same process used to create dies for embossed seals on art prints? If it's a different process, do you have a video for that or could you explain please? Thanks!
Theoretical you could do that yes. It would have to be a vector conversion so the first method of the video. Once vectorized you can set it up to be cut as a seal/stamp.
@@justinlaser Yeah, I get everything to create either vector/bitmap dither. So is a bitmap dither the file needed to create a sculpted die? Also, once you have the custom die made, do I have to find a print shop that does embossing? The process after making the vector img is where I am getting lost. This isnt a topic that I've been able to solve easily, lol
Good video however I did think from the first image of the lion that you were going to show us how to prepare the image for engraving so that is shows that 3D effect. I would love to see a video that takes things to that level.
Thanks Fred. Funny you mention that the first version of the video I did the other lion as an example (hence why its there) but the footage got cut off halfway through. Same process as the 2nd example! Upscaled it and used the "Norton Wood" method.
hmm, it never occured to me that manually dithering my images would give me such nice previews. And I work with photoshop, often REMOVING dithering, daily. :) Thanks.
When i resize the 318dpi image in upscale media and then add this to imagr premium version it shows me its in 72 dpi. What could be the problem? I change the original dpi grom 72 to 318 in imagr and then added this to upscale media to resize it and again add in to imagr to enchance but it shows 72 dpi again
Easy way to remove details you don't want by colour... select a path/object that has the stroke or fill of a given type - in the menu SELECT and look for select all by same fill or stroke colour - then remove the elements.
Hi! I am using Imagr and its fantastic! I was wondering if anyone can tell me, (i have glowforge) after I process the AI image with Imagr and put into my glowfoge UI, in the settings it offers convert to dots, convert to patterns and vary. i am wondering what one is best to use ? Thank you :)
From what I understand its an amalgamation of different source materials. However, if you use the paid version of Midjourney you have copyright protection.
Great video! You say the AI image software is free. What is the name of the software? Looking to start producing engraved products and trying to research everything I can before doing so. Thanks in advance!
Why are you upscaling the image that much and then scaling it down that much? Directly upscaling it to the desired size would give you a much better result.
I prefer the AI upscale results over Photoshop re-sampling. Probably not as big of a deal with the digital art example but when engraving photos upwards of 500/600dpi I need to start much larger.
@@justinlaser interesting. I will do some tests myself to see which will give me the best results. By the way, why do you want images of 500 to 600 dpi to begin with? Depending on the type of laser, I have never seen one that can engrave with a finer detail than 368 DPI. But most of the lasers can't even handle 300 DPI.
@@3dPrintCreator I max out around 318DPI for my diode laser. I see people push that limit and get nice results so I give it a try sometimes haha. I only go much higher when engraving on my fiber laser.
I was foolishly hoping the tutorial would have been about the lion in the thumbnail, and how to build that relief. What was I thinking? Also, while singing the praises of Imag-r, it might have been a good idea to tell the folks, it doesn't matter how swell the dither is in the example, if you don't get the speed and power right, on the laser, it's all for naught. You might to add that at some point.
Tried it but no luck. Just gives a reference on all the keywords. Must set up an account. I'm disabled and on a fixed income. Sad that nothing is free.
Thanks, unfortunately it is not free anymore to try, i signed up for the monthly payment but the bot didn't load at all, thus i cancelled my subscription.
Yeah well they don't give you a free version now so you have to pay a lot to use it. They also banned one I tried because I used the word "petite." Really?
One of the most useful videos I've seen lately. Thank you so much
Appreciate it!
Thanks a lot! Gretings from Poland!
Excellent tutorial, thanks
appreciate it!
Woooow so much info! I loved this whole video! Thank u
🙏🙏
Your are the man, thank you for your video,. Such a big help and easy to follow.
Thanks for watching!
Excellent! Thank you!
Great video! You can upscale 4x in Midjourney as well as put in your aspect ratio so the upscale process is much faster
Thanks! Yeah Ive gotten so much better at MJ I wish I could go back and redo this video haha.
Vectorizer AI isn't free anymore... Can't download without the subscription
Very nice tutorial on this subject. Everything I need to get going with AI image generation. Kudos!
Great -Awesome thanks so must for sharing
Thanks for the great tips and links!

Nice idea. Will be keeping this in mind. I know there is nothing for free anymore. but it is what it is.
Outstanding vid. Thanks!
🙏🙏
Amazing video - eyeing a laser engraving machine - will bookmark this
Thank you!
Great video for hints to making Laser engraving better. Handy when I only have a 2.5W laser which will do the Norton White tile method, just.
Norton Method one of my favorites 👍
Thanks for vid. Just starting this hobby and searching out clear info as I wait for machine delivery. Sub'd!
Good luck its a great hobby!
What is the process for stencil cutting? Please reply

What would you tell the ai to get a cut out ready picture where the pieces are connected so you have a single part and only unwanted pieces fall away?
Thank you very much. I got a lot from you.

What prompt did you use for the 3D turtle 🐢?
Is there any AI to make a 3D model out of wood of course, to be assembled from parts later?
brilliant mate im glad i found you and i've subscribed on two accounts
Good video, definately going to try AI generated image and lasering it. Thanks!
Thank you

This video was super helpful. Can you make a video like this to do layered pieces? Such as making a shadow box or something?
Thanks! I thought about that as well I will look into it. Someone needs to make an AI specifically for that.
@@justinlaser thanks for the reply! That’d be awesome and really help with quickly “designing” layered art aswell.
have you used a free photo editing software you can recommend? Not wanting to do PS until just yet.
There is GIMP and also some online editors that are free. I havent tried them in several years so I assume they are much better now.
you can do pretty much everything with Gimp for Pictures and Inkscape for Vectors.
what website do you use to generate
Are the Ai ones copyright free?

excellent!
thank you ...
very nice, can you show us how people create 3D files ? Not layer but 3D files which they engrave and looks 100% 3D?
thats probably with a cnc or something
You can do the same thing in lightburn
True. The Lightburn version is a little underwhelming for me sometimes. Doesnt offer enough tweaking yet.

Awesome video! What do you use as a AI image generator?
Thanks! Used Midjourney for this one.
Is the image truly unique or just some image it found on the Internet ie how do you know it’s not something copyrighted?
From what I understand its an amalgamation of different source materials. However, if you use the paid version of Midjourney you have copyright protection.
what website do you use to generate art
Midjourney as of now.
Why is ur engravings so black instead of brown?
Great video! You say the AI image software is free. What is the name of the software? Looking to start producing engraved products and trying to research everything I can before doing so. Thanks in advance!
I was like number on is not the best, then in the editor you chose the one i like, lol
I’ve tried, and it keeps giving me color images

Idk I did the the same prompt but was getting colors in mine
I still get random stuff I dont ask for like that too. I think its just how the software runs.

I guess vectorizer got popular. Not free to download result. Oh well.
Welp, I tried. Apparently I have to subscribe. No free trial for me. Moving on
RIP Free Vectorizer
That lion has tiger marks on his face 😢

That’s crazy didn’t know it was so strict. This would all apply to any other AI. prompt might be a little different.
A bunch of cubby chasers...lol
Local install stable diffusion. Teach it yourself
Very sad, the preview image has nothing to do with the video. Feels like click-baiting to me.
Uhh...I respectively disagree.
$1200 laser is not an entry level laser to be honest.
Wrong.
