the first two episodes of Vanguard Overdress is what got me into Vanguard. I'm about to rewatch all of it before moving on to the new series which i apparently have been ignoring for THREE SEASONS

Initial thoughts of the English voices: Danji: Perfect. Simply perfect. Yu-Yu: I wasn't so sure at the start but now I think his voice is a good fit. Megumi: High-voiced Megumi doesn't feel right. Zakusa: I see Zakusa but I hear Shingo. It's distracting. Tomari: Another great fit. Tohya: Once more, a great fit. Masanori: This man is voiced by the same guys who voiced Shin in both Japanese and English. It must be some sort of joke I don't get. But I love it none the less.
I just can't stop thinking this is the 1° EPISODE & Yuyu spents all the runtime of it crossdressed to the point of becoming so casual to him at the end 🤣

If they Choose Ambers VA to Voiced it, it would be fitting but there are 2 Characters in Shin Arc and the Card Tournament Arc in Achi's Time that are Perfect for Lilypichu's Voice but here in Overdress I haven't seen a Perfect Candidate for Lilypichu's Voice maybe one of Yuyu's Sisters but a Tomboy with a High Pitch feels like water and Oil.

I just hate Lily's voice acting for Megumi since first of all, it is bad in terms of expression and timings etc. And also because her voice doesn't suit megumi's who originally already has a deepish voice for a girl in the first place (a little deeper than usual) On top of that, the way she says VangUUURD. "LIKE JUST SAY GUARD NORMALLY YOU TWAT". Even japanese voice actors say it normally bro, it's so dumb. There are so many problems with Lily's voice acting, from choice of characters, to actual voice acting skill, to the actual product. It's all wrong in itself. UA-camrs who dub comics do better than her, that's how bad it is

Lily Voiced a Character Named Muni there the Voice is Perfect but she Felt like just reading the script no acting and No Expression I can't Say she Has bad Voice Acting Job. But they did an amazing Job on Sayu on Genshin Impact and she said she had take a lot of Retakes on it(means the Director Guide her for doing the Voice) here it just Self Talent and Voice Expression no Direction to the Anime this been done Poorly the VA for Danji Chokes on the Fights and Didn't do any Retakes the VA for him is Great but You hear A Lot of Errors for a Dub that has No Director. Lily didn't go from any Choir training or any Voice Training what so ever so this may seem Lily's at fault its the Director or Voice Management for the Anime at failt as well. Amane Shindo wasn't a Good Singer but she Got Better at Singing the More Singles she has and for Context she Voiced Megumin right now she is 17 and you can see Progress that she is still Training hard. While Lily I can say she has Talent for Arts and a Good League Player but she needs a voice trainer and Direction on her Voice Acting.
The fact that a guy is blushing from a boy cosplaying is pure gold I can already see how hilarious and awesome this show is gonna bring also I'm happy vanguard is gaining more popularity now, hype tp the Aichi sendou Era! Gonna miss the Blaster Blade boi!

My opinions, do not take it seriously like at all. I'm sure it was very hard to get together this dub and make everything consistent as possible noting our world's situation. So good job to everyone involved! *Long ass comment so skip if you hate reading* ~Megumi~ The acting is good in some parts but the voice doesn't quite fit Megumi, maybe I've watched too many LilyPichu videos but it takes you out of the immersion sometimes. ~Yu Yu~ Great! I can't really think of anything wrong I had with it! ~Tohya~ Tohya is good but there's something a bit off for me. I can't quite put my finger on it but maybe it's the lack of aggression? ~Tomari~ Tomari's is great! Fits the character, her announcing needs a little flare? or more energy? -Zakusa- Though he has only few lines right now, I'm very happy with how it turned out! -Danji- The voice fits well, but I feel like the translation or delivery was a bit too cocky? Almost like he lacks humbleness and is talking mad shit to his opponents. Might just be me but I can imagine the voice saying "Heh, nothing personal kid." -Masanori- One line but good. Fight Scene - It falls a bit flat, most of it was good but there were some parts when it just lacked intensity? Screams needed to be more blood curdling but screaming is hard anyway so I don't blame them. Overall it was just average. You would probably feel like something is off even if you hadn't watched the sub. Probably wouldn't recommend the dub if I were trying to get someone into the series. I feel like the slice of life moments are really where the acting shines, The characters just being the characters really feels wholesome and enjoyable. P.S I feel dubs are usually it's own spin on the series which isn't entirely based on how they play the sub. Some characters are written different or fill a different purpose in a show. So entirely basing it off the the japanese voice acting isn't the way to go.
Danji has more of a vibe of a cocky teenager but only when he was playing. He fluctuates between being great and just being a dude bro. They even state that while danji is normaly a light hearted goofball, when playing he gets very hardcore almost like hes playing a heel.

I came here because of Gigguk. I’ve never played this game or learned how to play, started watching the first three episodes. Love the characters, still don’t understand the game, but it’s so much fun.
My Opinion on the voices Yuyu, Tohya and Masanori's fits perfectly Danji's is a bit off Megumi's does not fit at all and; Tomari's does not give the same energy (I know I shouldn't compare JP voice to ENG voice but a bit more energy would work)
You forgot Zakusa. BTW, Masanori is voiced by Scott Roberts who also voiced Shin Nita (also Oil Man in Mega Man Powered Up, George de Sand in G Gundam and Uub and Gohan in the Blue Water dub of DBGT). Honestly the voice cast seems to be full of no-namers though.
I give the Overall Quality of the Eng Dub ; 6/10 . Note : Willing to watch more ep's, hoping that the V/A's Voice Acting will develop to being less stiff and more natural overtime.

First time watching overdress. I have not watched anything vanguard related since the last stride season. First 2 minutes and I’m so confused lol the op is amazing though!
SPOILER AND THEORY ALERT: The animation budget really comes out every time Danji and Yu-yu fights. My theory is that what's happening is similar to Kai and Aichi. Like Kai was looking for a "serious fight" with strong "imaginations" and he found it in Aichi with their first fight together. I feel like Danji's the same way when he fought Yu-yu. Maybe why he's leaving is because he wants to see how far Yu-yu can go with his newfound strength that's kinda similar to psyqualia now (like how he knew he was gonna pull an overtrigger) due to his strengthened bond with trickstar and his deck.
I love all the vanguard zero tv series puls the og i even miss buddyfight the rest of buddyfight is half sub which still sucks puls i miss the cardfight vanguard phone game as well
i think that this dub is pretty good! i quite like yuyu's voice, i think it fits him really well. megumi's voice is too high, it doesn't really fit her personality, considering that she's supposed to be more tomboy-ish and brash. tomari's voice is alright, but lacks energy even when she's yelling in later parts of episode. danji's voice is great, not much to say there, and zakusa's voice is alright.
(Online..the officer sees that the girl in the black dress is Yuyu Konda, but also sees a paranormal figure controlling him. She finds out that the figure is Mitzuki Sendou, and immediately tries to contact the police. However, the phone wasn't working, and she doesn't have enough information about him yet. She tries and charges her phone, and starts to read about paranormal encounters and more)
well to be fair in the second trailer they did said that overdress takes place 3 years after the events of GZ and to be honest i would like to see some of the og characters in cameos
The voice for everyone is fairly decent, except I am not a fan of Megumi's voice. Danji, Zakusa, Tohya, and Tomari all sound pretty good (except the "Hey guys!" line was pretty lame).

SPOILER AND THEORY ALERT:
The animation budget really comes out every time Danji and Yu-yu fights. My theory is that what's happening is similar to Kai and Aichi. Like Kai was looking for a "serious fight" with strong "imaginations" and he found it in Aichi with their first fight together. I feel like Danji's the same way when he fought Yu-yu. Maybe why he's leaving is because he wants to see how far Yu-yu can go with his newfound strength that's kinda similar to psyqualia now (like how he knew he was gonna pull an overtrigger) due to his strengthened bond with trickstar and his deck.

I miss aichi sendou so much, he was my first anime show.
i think that this dub is pretty good! i quite like yuyu's voice, i think it fits him really well. megumi's voice is too high, it doesn't really fit her personality, considering that she's supposed to be more tomboy-ish and brash. tomari's voice is alright, but lacks energy even when she's yelling in later parts of episode. danji's voice is great, not much to say there, and zakusa's voice is alright.

The voice for everyone is fairly decent, except I am not a fan of Megumi's voice. Danji, Zakusa, Tohya, and Tomari all sound pretty good (except the "Hey guys!" line was pretty lame).
