    WHAT BROUGHT ME TO UA-cam: I worked at Goldman Sachs, in Private Equity, and built up a $100M holding company. But after being in Wall Street for so long, I got tired of managing hundreds of millions for the rich. Investing was for the few not the many. F that. You all are the reason I do this. We as a society need to get rich together. My mission is to create 100,000 business owners, I hope you’re one.

    Biggest takeaways:
    - Wake up at 5:45 before the rest of the world (the more time you have the more time you can focus on creating opportunity)
    - To build a successful business you have to say NO to the things the average person would say yes to, aka the “It’s a School Night” mentality.
    - Success always comes with negativity. Take the negative and use that as feedback to improve, get better, and grow more. Repeat.
    - Clean your own space! Doing your own dirty work builds character and helps you to be able to “get down & dirty” when crud hits the fan in your business.
    - Never neglect your mental health. Your mind is your most powerful tool.

      At my job I was working 50-60 hours a week. That was too much for me. Now it's less than 40. I make a lot less money especially without any overtime pay, but I feel so much better it's totally worth it. I know for me personally that working crazy hours all the time just isn't worth it. After a certain number of hours, I don't even care about the money, I just want to go home. I could never make 8 figures a year. If I had $10 million, I would just retire.

    Things I’m trying this year:
    1) Hang out with people who are ambitious and minimize the time with friends who have no drive. I actually sat down with one of my closest friends and asked him what he aspired to and literally told him I’m going to have to distance myself from him based on what he said or, more accurately, couldn’t say.
    2) I’m waking up early every day. 7AM - 6PM Mon-Fri is work in the business. 6PM-8PM Mon-Fri and 8AM-6PM on Saturday is work on the business.
    3) Get to where I can run 2 miles without breaking a sweat cause it’s good for me and it’s hard because I’ve never been a distance runner. Or more to the point, do hard things before the sun comes up.
    4) Disregarding any advice from people who haven’t ‘Been There.’ I will throw that stuff straight in the trash and then try to cleanse my mind completely. Every doubt they have in me I already have in myself. I don’t need any of that!

    On the 'get up early' culture. You only gain more time if you sleep less. Otherwise, assuming a standard 8-hour sleep schedule, you have exactly the same hours in a day that someone who gets up at noon does. You get your 'nobody else is up' time in the morning, while the night owl gets it at night. Personally, as a night owl, I'm far more creative in those overnight hours than I am at any other time of the day. So, different strokes for different folks, but let's not pretend you're getting MORE time.

    • @CCY17777
      @CCY17777 4 місяці тому +7

      More time doesn’t necessarily mean more productivity, deep thinking is what matters and is the highest leverage thing. And we need to sleep to maximize our ability to think deeply

    • @TeaPourSixFour
      @TeaPourSixFour 3 місяці тому +2

      I agree, there is magic in the night and Magic in the morning. Time-honored, wisdom and synchronizing with the planet supports people rising early in the morning, it is holy.
      Real talk though? 😅Some of us work great late at night and sometimes it’s very hard to go to sleep early.
      🔑 I believe the key is to rise early most of the time.

    • @irinamitraj8195
      @irinamitraj8195 12 днів тому +1

      100% I’ll never understand how people push the importance of sleep and how critical it is to your health and development while also pushing to wake up at 4 am for the hell of it. It makes no sense

    I believe cleaning up after yourself is an important skill, simple rule of cause and effect. You make it dirty, you clean it up. You break it, you fix it. Teaches responsibility and consequences. You treat things better and are tidier. This principle is great for business: you make a promise, you keep it. You mess it up, you own up and fix it. You treat everything and everyone with the respect they deserve...

      Agreed. I have a sister who’s worked @ Goldman for over 20 years (as an admin assistant), and that whole focus on “being respected” and “winning” has turned her into a bit of a monster (because on Wall St, and generally in our world today, it’s based on MONEY and STATUS). I think we all need to define what “being respected” and “winning” really is and entails for ourselves and leave room to “respect” those whose definition of “winning” doesn’t necessarily include making 8 figures and ruling the world. Case in point: there are defense contractors and politicians making 8 figures slaughtering innocents (surely “losers” by THEIR definition) in Palestine (and other “lesser” parts of the world) who totally think they are “winning” right now. No, thank you, to THAT. The people I genuinely respect as TRUE “Winners” are the ones who are true to themselves, do good in the world (not only for themselves but for others), SHARE their knowledge, talents, and wealth, have good/pure HEARTS, and who don’t judge or hold themselves superior to others just because they have more wealth or status in the world. There is always MORE to anyone’s story than we can perceive on the surface, and EVERYONE deserves basic dignity and respect intrinsic to the fact they are fellow humans on their own unique journeys. This said, I respect Codie and her vision and everyone else who shares it, but at the same time, it’s not the ONLY path to happiness and “legacy” in the world. Then again, wouldn’t it be great if we could hold and achieve BOTH these perspectives at the same time. This would involve an even bolder challenge: EVOLUTION of the SOUL. Let’s GET IT!💯🙏🔥

Every decision an employer or company makes will effect someone in some way, like when your uncle closed his pluming business I'm sure a string of people either had to find a new job, customers a new plumber, plumbing vender a new customer, exedra. This was great. I love listening to you over and over. I heard Myron Golden say he watched someone until he could quote the whole thing. Ok, so maybe that is a bit much, but you get the idea. Thanks

    I liked this video very much. I had to admit that when I was younger, I would have take your approach to leadership personal. There is a difference better being a mean boss and being a boss that values what you bring to the table, but is setting a standard for you to follow. I agree with you that we do want to get paid more than the same value we have been giving. Keep winning and putting out videos. You are inspiring me to figure out how I can win.

    This was an insightful and helpful episode. I found many take-a-ways. Our habits will often see us through when the will power or desire is not there. Sometimes you just have one of those days where you do not want to execute those things that must be accomplished. That's when good habits often makes the difference in success. Thanks for sharing. I definitely recommend this video!

    Glad I came across your channel, I am enjoying the straight talking and realistic insights. Way to many videos on here promising the mirage of wealth with no effort - click bait to gets views and income for the creator, not what is going to help most people actually improve their lives. The segment on why most salaries are at the level they are and what to do if you want significantly increase yours would make such a difference to so many employees if they grasped that and put it into practice.

    This reminded me of the saying: "You don't get paid for the hour, you get paid for the value you bring to the hour"
