Then focused on new weapon types and behemoths the game would be golden. But they just continued to put out nothing and what they did do was always at a detriment to the game. The sheer thing they could add that would totally rekindle people to play again. Add a bow, or daggers. Maybe even a rifle or something unique like a flail or some sort of shield and sword or spear l. They could easily. Make those new weapon types. It's not that hard. But they won't. They ruined the game. They had a good system great combat and nice systems but refused to actually build on it. Your sentiment towards the end of the video hit the nail right on the head. It's my thought EXACTLY. When people talked about Destiny 2's downfall, I was very much on the outside apathetically looking in despite playing that game more than Dauntless, honestly. But there's something about this that stings much worse. I think it's probably D2's slow decline versus this damn cliff-dive of an update. It's destruction is so assured, and I'm gutted because Dauntless has always had a special place in my heart.
I know. I hurts me how every game I played and liked has some bs Pladins: Pretty much Irrelevant Fortnite: OG Fortnite is back permanently, 3 games modes, an actual casual experience, yet all the commonunity cries about every day are all minor changes. Rouge Company: Pretty much dead Overwatch 2: Yes it's free but now I know it's just broken promises. And now this...
Came into Dauntless before Trials was even a thing and when we had Old Ramsgate. This here feels like a fat betrayal in the highest sense and it HURTS 🤕
This, the first ever upgrading system was the best one BY FAR, they could have reverted the inclusion of the slayer path and reforging system, gave us weapon swaping and companions and the game would have PEAKED.
@@lmayo870 Reforged was an update I wasn't around and tbh, it wasn't the worst thing considering I played grinding games but it was far from perfect but it looks far better than what we have now
The og CEO’s of Phoenix lab stepped down years ago then got bought out so there’s been a lot of directive changes over the years which is why it feels all over the place over the years
Oh no, so the cell change is like what happened to Monster Hunters skill change from old world to new world... but in reverse... Old MH had the threshold system (where you have to reach a certain number of points in a skill before it activates) and changed to the better and more liked active system (where a single point of a skill will give some sort of benefit, even if it is small)... and dauntless decided hey, lets take this good active system and go to an old and stupid threshold system... WTF
I could see arguments on both sides. Old MH I actually had times I sat down with pen and paper and wrote out different armor pieces with skill points and figuring out how to craft the perfect set. New MH makes things a lot simpler but it could be argued that it’s too easy to amass skills now. I like the new system but I wouldn’t mind another go at the old system, maybe just polished up a bit somehow.
The new MH skill system forced us to clown armor, which before we got Layered armor, looked absolute ass. In old MH games you can get away with not looking like a clown by equipping most of the set.
@TabbuEme not true, the old games also forced you into clown suits if you were using mix sets (which, the only reason not to is because they look like clown suits), except for really specific sets that could combine function and form. That being said, I feel like the new system removes all of the thought out of it, especially the removal of negative skills
Veteran of the game here, i stop playing around 2022 shortly after they did the whole chain blades rework, they ruined my boy, it used to be fun in solid as a weapon but at that time the rework ruined it so i left plus the epic account through psn got an update that bar me from playing dauntless in 2023 so i think of it is a blessing in disguise
I like the new chain blades tho, they are a bit less agile than the old one thats for sure but I enjoy them. What killed the game for me was the introduction of the slayer path and reforging.
Their responce was basically the corporate version of "We hear you and do not care." If they were going to actually fix things the way people are wanting, they'd come out and say what it is they're going to do. However, because they're not reverting, they're probably going to try and power through with the current systems and just update them instead. Likely in a way the community's going to be, at best, mixed about.
I just did the same thing, even if they bring everything back +weaponSwaping and new behemoths and stuff, I don't trust them anymore, they can wipe everything out again. And I just preordered monster hunter wilds, it sounds better
mh has always been better than dauntless tbh, i tried dauntless when it came out and i couldnt see why people would ever play it over mhw other than not having played mhw beforehand
And even after that post, they still didnt really say that they will fix those problems. They didnt say that weapon crafting will return, they didnt say that cells will not be destroyed. They just gave money to us and "trust me, we will fix"
Funny how Dauntless regressed from "Monster hunter at home" to yet another boring mobile F2P game with microtransactions as the "fun" part of the game. I feel like the only game that got close to being ruined this hard by a single update... is Helldiver 2 and that was not even a gameplay related issue for the most part... it was just sony being dumb and wanting PC players to get doxxed through their PSN accounts just to play the game.
the difference between helldivers 2 and dauntless is that hd2 has made a comeback, dauntless will never (and if they do, it'll take forever and it wont be worth it)
@@franciscomoraes8464 so it is still the fake pull back sony put out (you don't need PSN, but every country PSN is not allowed in is conviniently banned/restricted?)
Honestly at this point I wish they would’ve just gave dauntless an honourable death, when phoenix labs sold over to this slop crypto company, and I know it wouldn’t have benefited them, it would’ve been nice if they did one last event, like a “End of the Isles” update where we get a nice cinematic send off, ya know for all the time, effort, money, dedication the community put into this game.
Bro ever since the update came out the behemoths are on McDonalds Wi-Fi, and they will lag out and teleport across the battlefield and somehow when I’m far away from it I’ll get one shot and die
This update was the best thing to happen to dauntless' competition. I've never seen a game shoot itself in every way it possibly could have with this update. The funniest part is all the cope some of the remaining fanboys still have. Like bro it's dead, leave it alone lol😂
The devs are literally just babies when people have fun and guess what you can see it before this update too with so many nerfs to attack speed, removing pursuits, and so much more genuinely hope they fall down and fail hard from the looks of it they are.
Randomly came up on my Recommended. Thought “surely this update can’t be THAT bad UA-cam hyperbole is a whole industry”. But I’m quite wrong. What a PECULIAR set of choices and I’m sorry to everyone who has enjoyed Dauntless. Truly.
That entire update post could basically be translated as: "We tried to turn this game into a microtransaction store disguised a game, but it backfired horribly. Please take this tiny bit of bait to come back and spend money."
Some developers should just swallow their pride and say "yeah we messed up and we are returning the older version of the game" that's the ONLY way dauntless could still be playable but the damage has been done and dauntless will forever be damned because of this downgrade of an update
I used to play dauntless on the daily . I used to play with a small twitch streamer . We used to play with like 3 other people throughout all of summer and autumn 2024 . I used to love this game . I hopped on today read the patch notes and could not belive it. It is absolute garbage now .
I remember waaay back in the day where they changed the whole town and took away these coins you could earn to get paywall stuff and that's about where I stopped. I earned all of them and they were like "spend them in a week because we are taking them away!" Was recently wondering what ever happened to this game. Kinda sad this happened.
Played the game about 6 years ago and thought it was neat but stopped to focus on other games. I've seen multiple videos in the past few weeks about the downfall of the game, pretty sad.
this was an update to get one last burst of money before the game gets shut down or put in stasis and it's obvious the same thing happens in countless mmos
ty for youre video man, I was taking a pause on this game after crafting all the weapons and armor, I came back with hope for this game when I saw the new monster but when I saw everithing else it was hard, I will continue playing but since it's hard for me to late go a game with more than a 600 hours on it.
Next they’ll release “Dauntless: Classic”, go back to the book with the challenges in it, bring back patrols and pursuits, and make us pay for the honor.
As someone who hasn’t touched the game since beta and was genuinely curious about trying again once it was on Steam… yeah the game is probably just fucked The reception of the update was so terrible there is zero chance they can ever recover that reputation and bring in new players. I hadn’t had a single piece of content related to this game on my feed until this all went down. Dauntless is the next MH Wilds advertisement out there at the moment.
i'm so confused, last time i played Dauntless it was so fun, i remember doing the purple boss that would turn the screen dark and keep dashing at you and the satisfaction of stunning him in the middle of the dash, then i went to play it earlier this year and the game just felt HORRIBLE to play, stuff didn't make any sense, and now they release this, how did this happen ?
Dauntless is such a disappointment, i loved the idea of having a competitor for Monster Hunter, but after 2 months of play, everything just felt... stale. Possibly because i was playing alone, or because i was also playing Save the World and Apex Legends... But i never got the grip i felt was needed. It's sad that the game never went anywhere, and even in his highest highs, it never caught main stream attention. Hopefully Phoenix Labs makes a comeback or implement some ground breaking features that will draw my and everyone else's attention. But for now, it's just another game that never reached it's peak, and never will.
yup pretty much sums it all up right there. In my opinion dauntless "peaked" back in like 2018-2021 ish, and it wasnt even a popular game or anything it was just fun
Love how the Dauntless Devs have been getting feedback for 3 years and basically said, "players, we hear you and we don't care. instead of more monsters to hunt, here's more grinding the same monsters. Instead of more weapons and builds, here is microtransactions so bad, you think Blizzard, Ubisoft and Bethesda came together and found the most predatory store ever. Instead of cool skins and titles, here's a complete reset of everything, completely destroying all work you have as a player identity." I wouldn't say I'm surprised by the downfall but I am surprised they used a reboot of the game to do it.
As someone who got the big expensive Founder Pack all the way back when Dauntless marketed as "Monster Hunter but on PC", I was long ago burned by how Dauntless evolved into what felt more like one of those early MMO "Kill 15 Boars" quests. We were promised a game where you sky sail to a set of islands with 1 big dangerous monster that grew more powerful the longer you let the battle go on, gaining new movesets and elemental quirks as it got closer to death. And when I returned to the game a couple years ago, I got dropped into a landmass with monster fodder events left and right that turned the Shrike into just another mob to throw at you. It was genuinely heartbreaking to see the massive gap in what I paid for and what happened to it. I didn't stick around long enough to learn if the old single Monster hunts still existed, I played at most on that fodder field for 2 hours before quitting again. Rest in Peace, Dauntless. You could have been something.
The music has me thinking of this like a yakuza substory where Ichiban is convincing you to quit the game, and how letting go of it doesnt mean the good memories went away or dont mean anything or something like that.
I'm not even a player of this game. I just got recommended by the algorithm and got curious about it (hell, i didn't even know this game existed in the first place.) And all I'm gonna say is. Jesus fricking christ, does they even have play tester test their game and see how crappy of an updated it is? (Gotta love an "update" that literally bring nothing new to the game and even remove an already functioning and even love feature) Btw, I'm impressed with yiur video and was surprised that you got less than 10K sub. This kind of video and editing make me think this is a 100k+ subscriber channel
We used to have the cells destroyed back in beta. It got removed as it hindered the experimentation with builds. They removed builds, so now we can spend money again on cells. Hey, shareholder profits will go up as sadly only the veterans will leave who cared for the game.
It hurt seeing this game fall through the ground into the earth core. Bad timing, bad management, and bad business strangle this game's potential. What's worse is it didn't die quick but a slow gargle, painfully grasping for air all the way and you can feel every minute of it.
Honestly the only thing that can save them at this point is reverting this update altogether, I just wonder if they have the balls to do so (or if their parent company will allow them)
God damn... I used to play Dauntless AGES ago, I was very young and just wanted F2P games with crossplay to play with friends. I really liked the game and played it a lot, but due to my PC being rather bad, I left because it was laggy for me. Fast forward to today, I have a good computer and was thinking of downloading it again, remembering how much fun the combat was, trying different builds, and getting absolutely destroyed in high difficulties, and then I see this video and I can't help to feel bad about it. The game has a lot of potential, it's sad to see it go this way.
Phoenix Labs got purchased by a crypto company back in 2023. That's where this update came from.
And is probably why they don't do the easy thing and revert. They are most likely not allowed to revert the game.

After losing my account cause of some dumb reason I don't even know myself I still held out hope that maybe something interesting would be added to draw me back in. Now I'm happy I lost my account sooner.
RIP to your account but yeah The game really fell off around 2021 ish
@@lmayo870 they literally just need to spam-adding new behemoth, new weapon type with unique mechanic, but they choose to remove everything and be like "ohh, you lost everything? here, take this 14 shit"
@@chandra_abhiramaif they simply went back to reforged but fleshed out other systems and buffed the reforged effects to actually be a worth while grind. Because they were bought out by a crypto company who was probably gonna milk the game dry and put in crypto or nfts before it died because no one trusts or cares about crypto anymore. They ruined the game. They had a good system great combat and nice systems but refused to actually build on it. And instead out in a system nobody would ever want, removed pretty much the entire game. So they could sell a sliver of it back for real money. And then tried to put a bandaid over the game ending problem. And refuse to actually fix it.
"New weapons" my ass...bows, rifles, shields, lances, traps, a bolo? Fuck anything would be better than the absolutely nothing we've had for years. The newest weapons were the strikers and that was a billion years ago...they teased us with art of the bow and bows being part of the mastery tree but then they flat out said THERE WILL BE NO NEW WEAPON TYPES. This game is brimming with potential but has snobby fuckin devs that think they know what we want when they clearly have no clue.
i was still waiting for that magic aether book weapon i suggested that specializes on faster elemental stacking just like CB specializing on crits, hammer on stagger, pike on wounds, etc.
when used, shock book stacks paralysis effect faster, blaze book on burn effect, etc.
@HardiniMalemona you're already a better game designer than half that god damn studio.
Dauntless Awakening needs to be put to sleep. What an absolute middle finger to all of us, especially for those of us who were there at the start.
Without a doubt, they should put the entire game in the dumpster at this point
All of my builds man😅 I wasn’t the best player but I was sure knew what I was doing and now I’m a noob again.
I know. I hurts me how every game I played and liked has some bs
Pladins: Pretty much Irrelevant
Fortnite: OG Fortnite is back permanently, 3 games modes, an actual casual experience, yet all the commonunity cries about every day are all minor changes.
Rouge Company: Pretty much dead
Overwatch 2: Yes it's free but now I know it's just broken promises. And now this...
The patch notes sound like Corpo talk to try and put out some of the fires from the Inferno.
100%, it felt so disingenuous
I mean, they did pretty much start with "we're sorry y'all feel that way". That's never a good sign
It was quite literally "We hear you and We're sorry you feel that way, now thake this pittance and go back to buy all the progress we took from you"
Dauntless : Awakening❎
Dauntless : Downfall✅
This is true
Just like Brazil, a fucked up progression system in a place full of unrealized potential...

Came into Dauntless before Trials was even a thing and when we had Old Ramsgate. This here feels like a fat betrayal in the highest sense and it HURTS 🤕
I'm right there with you :(
This, the first ever upgrading system was the best one BY FAR, they could have reverted the inclusion of the slayer path and reforging system, gave us weapon swaping and companions and the game would have PEAKED.
Reforged was when I started having my doubts about the game, but I was too stupid and blinded by hope to quit
@@lmayo870 Reforged was an update I wasn't around and tbh, it wasn't the worst thing considering I played grinding games but it was far from perfect but it looks far better than what we have now
The World and Wilds will take you in; come hither, Slayers! We're ready to receive you with open arms!
WTF
Not everyone prefers the new system, it caused a build consolidation and skill bloat issues in the newer games that wilds is trying to fix.
Threshold systems work and force you to think, the only issue is when you A) can't make decorations/cells and B) can't swap them freely
Oh man I hated the rework, that's when I started to question the direction of the game
And I just preordered monster hunter wilds, it sounds better
wise move honestly
mh has always been better than dauntless tbh, i tried dauntless when it came out and i couldnt see why people would ever play it over mhw other than not having played mhw beforehand
And even after that post, they still didnt really say that they will fix those problems. They didnt say that weapon crafting will return, they didnt say that cells will not be destroyed. They just gave money to us and "trust me, we will fix"
TRUE, it's pretty much a "let me cook" post but they've already burnt the dish 5 times over
Funny how Dauntless regressed from "Monster hunter at home" to yet another boring mobile F2P game with microtransactions as the "fun" part of the game.
I feel like the only game that got close to being ruined this hard by a single update... is Helldiver 2 and that was not even a gameplay related issue for the most part... it was just sony being dumb and wanting PC players to get doxxed through their PSN accounts just to play the game.
the difference between helldivers 2 and dauntless is that hd2 has made a comeback, dauntless will never (and if they do, it'll take forever and it wont be worth it)
I can't play helldivers 2 in my country so for me that comeback is bs
@@franciscomoraes8464 so it is still the fake pull back sony put out (you don't need PSN, but every country PSN is not allowed in is conviniently banned/restricted?)
@@franciscomoraes8464well again, to be fair that's not the devs fault or choice, it's PlayStation being dumbasses
@@franciscomoraes8464 That ain't the devs fault though, just Sony being dickheads
“There’s nothing else that I can really do, except just to quit Dauntless”
Sums it up pretty well
Honestly at this point I wish they would’ve just gave dauntless an honourable death, when phoenix labs sold over to this slop crypto company, and I know it wouldn’t have benefited them, it would’ve been nice if they did one last event, like a “End of the Isles” update where we get a nice cinematic send off, ya know for all the time, effort, money, dedication the community put into this game.
Phoenix Labs SOLD Dauntless? that explains a lot.
@@jacktheomnithere2127 Phoenix labs themselves have been sold... twice
That would've honestly been the best ending
Bro ever since the update came out the behemoths are on McDonalds Wi-Fi, and they will lag out and teleport across the battlefield and somehow when I’m far away from it I’ll get one shot and die
Goodbye Dauntless RIP 🪦
Rest in pepperoni
1:50 my ears 🙃
Dauntless Awakening did give me a wake up call. That it was dead since reforged.
This update was the best thing to happen to dauntless' competition. I've never seen a game shoot itself in every way it possibly could have with this update. The funniest part is all the cope some of the remaining fanboys still have. Like bro it's dead, leave it alone lol😂
THIS. They wanted to make sure MH had absolutely zero competition for some god forsaken reason
The devs are literally just babies when people have fun and guess what you can see it before this update too with so many nerfs to attack speed, removing pursuits, and so much more genuinely hope they fall down and fail hard from the looks of it they are.
Oh Jesus christ it's Luther again yo can go back in time and stop the awakening
The dauntless devs are truly the fun police of gaming
Randomly came up on my Recommended. Thought “surely this update can’t be THAT bad UA-cam hyperbole is a whole industry”.
But I’m quite wrong. What a PECULIAR set of choices and I’m sorry to everyone who has enjoyed Dauntless.
Truly.
IDK why but that shout out for Brazilians made me happy, shout out from a brazilian and new sub! And great video
LET'S GOOOOO BRAZILIAN SUBBED 🔥🔥🔥
You’ll never get a more gut wrenchingly honest admission of development failure and misstep than from a true fan.
my title in monster hunter rise has been 'dauntless is third-rate' for about two or three years.
Also your vids are top notch from the sound to editing . Underrated ima sub
Might be the worst update in gaming history😂😂
Top 20 at least
Fat update and a worse one. An update with just a jpeg added is still an update. Benchmark must be bigger update but more nonsensical additions.
Top of my head is Risk of rain 2 seekers of the storm
@@bondrewd2147 ok but they're at least know the update was bad and now they're fixing it
Only others i can think of are the 2b2t 1.19 update and the helldivers 2 update.
That entire update post could basically be translated as: "We tried to turn this game into a microtransaction store disguised a game, but it backfired horribly. Please take this tiny bit of bait to come back and spend money."
dauntless really saw MHWilds announce weapon swapping and was like "what if we copy that, but worse"
it feels like fall in love with a nice girl and she became a toxic golddigger over the years. I loved you Dauntless, I rly did.
Some developers should just swallow their pride and say "yeah we messed up and we are returning the older version of the game" that's the ONLY way dauntless could still be playable but the damage has been done and dauntless will forever be damned because of this downgrade of an update
I love how I come back to dauntless after 2-3 years and the party's just over like everyone's gone
i've given up on Dauntless a LONG LONG time ago about a month after Launch ...i absolutely have no regrets after watching this
You dodged a HUMONGOUS bullet
I'm in the same boat it felt "off" to me, so I stopped playing.
I used to play dauntless on the daily . I used to play with a small twitch streamer . We used to play with like 3 other people throughout all of summer and autumn 2024 . I used to love this game . I hopped on today read the patch notes and could not belive it. It is absolute garbage now .
I used to play this game a few years ago. I wanted to get back in it, but as someone who enjoyed the game a lot, this is a pain to see.
I remember waaay back in the day where they changed the whole town and took away these coins you could earn to get paywall stuff and that's about where I stopped. I earned all of them and they were like "spend them in a week because we are taking them away!" Was recently wondering what ever happened to this game. Kinda sad this happened.
I got a beta key all the way back in 2017
it brings me sadness to see the state of this game today
They somehow made it worse than the beta
Played the game about 6 years ago and thought it was neat but stopped to focus on other games. I've seen multiple videos in the past few weeks about the downfall of the game, pretty sad.
this was an update to get one last burst of money before the game gets shut down or put in stasis and it's obvious the same thing happens in countless mmos
MHW is $10 btw
UA-cam knew I wanted to visit dauntless again and spared me by recommending this video.
I loved it too, but honestly Strikers was the beginning of the end. This is the 4th gear reset in the game, tells you a lot.
ty for youre video man, I was taking a pause on this game after crafting all the weapons and armor, I came back with hope for this game when I saw the new monster but when I saw everithing else it was hard, I will continue playing but since it's hard for me to late go a game with more than a 600 hours on it.
Dauntless? more like DauntFULL
ChestNUUUUUTSS roasting oNnn an opehnnnn FIYYEEERR
its dauntLESS since they literally removed existing content 💀
2:30 oh you can see that animation interrupt. That's so painful...
Gave me super old Monster hunter ptsd.
Next they’ll release “Dauntless: Classic”, go back to the book with the challenges in it, bring back patrols and pursuits, and make us pay for the honor.
As someone who hasn’t touched the game since beta and was genuinely curious about trying again once it was on Steam… yeah the game is probably just fucked
The reception of the update was so terrible there is zero chance they can ever recover that reputation and bring in new players. I hadn’t had a single piece of content related to this game on my feed until this all went down.
Dauntless is the next MH Wilds advertisement out there at the moment.
Cube world: hey I bet I can tank my community the fastest!
Dauntless: hold my beer
6:20 was that LTG? 😂😂
YOU NOTICED IT ‼️‼️‼️
This game really looks like something you'd play on mobile with one button.
They're just trying to milk what's left of the playerbase.
i'm so confused, last time i played Dauntless it was so fun, i remember doing the purple boss that would turn the screen dark and keep dashing at you and the satisfaction of stunning him in the middle of the dash, then i went to play it earlier this year and the game just felt HORRIBLE to play, stuff didn't make any sense, and now they release this, how did this happen ?
game was dead back in 2018 when Monster Hunter Worlds hit the shelves
My man pulled the brazilian move at the start, and that made me watch all the way, cheers mate, lots of love from brazil
"take your mask off" instrumental at the end was so perfect lmfao
Just do a video of you playing monster hunter. More fun and I'd watch.
Maybe one day
I actually very like the ending of this video. Great job overall, but the closing part - that was awesome.

@@lmayo870 okay pookie
The update is not Dauntless awakening it is Dauntless nightmare!
U fell off
this is true
Love how the Dauntless Devs have been getting feedback for 3 years and basically said, "players, we hear you and we don't care. instead of more monsters to hunt, here's more grinding the same monsters. Instead of more weapons and builds, here is microtransactions so bad, you think Blizzard, Ubisoft and Bethesda came together and found the most predatory store ever. Instead of cool skins and titles, here's a complete reset of everything, completely destroying all work you have as a player identity."
I wouldn't say I'm surprised by the downfall but I am surprised they used a reboot of the game to do it.
As someone who loved Dauntless, then kinda forgot about it for a couple years, it's been kind of fascinating watching the game self-destruct.
The music has me thinking of this like a yakuza substory where Ichiban is convincing you to quit the game, and how letting go of it doesnt mean the good memories went away or dont mean anything or something like that.
Capcom: Thank you for breaking your own legs Dauntless.
I'm not even a player of this game. I just got recommended by the algorithm and got curious about it (hell, i didn't even know this game existed in the first place.) And all I'm gonna say is. Jesus fricking christ, does they even have play tester test their game and see how crappy of an updated it is? (Gotta love an "update" that literally bring nothing new to the game and even remove an already functioning and even love feature)
Btw, I'm impressed with yiur video and was surprised that you got less than 10K sub. This kind of video and editing make me think this is a 100k+ subscriber channel
never played this game before but i've watched enough jauwn to notice the very clear cryptoslop art style
In the quotes of our Rick May, considering this man just uses TF2 sfx, for this game I can only say:
"You will not be missed."
Wait dude WTF!! This video EXPLODED!! Congrats man!!!
thanks!! Hope you had a good trip with the fam
I like how the dev’s ideao of difficulty is nerfing the combat and progression of the game to make it feel harder.
We used to have the cells destroyed back in beta. It got removed as it hindered the experimentation with builds. They removed builds, so now we can spend money again on cells.
Hey, shareholder profits will go up as sadly only the veterans will leave who cared for the game.
Damn, this vid blew up. Congrats Lmayo.
didnt expect this to do so well if im bein honest
Update was so bad he started playing Roblox tycoons instead lol
