He worked with great musicians like Robert Fripp, Bill Bruford, Steve Howe, Carl Palmer, ..., to name a few ones... John Wetton was a talented bass player and singer. R.I.P.
John Wetton is a masterpiece in end of 70' and 80' progressive music. I can't imagine anyone else but him singing in "Red", "Lask's tongue in aspic" and "Easy money" with Fripp in King Crimson. UK is a kind of remake of ELP. but only Wetton is really at the level. Same for Asia, although Stev Howe and Carl Palmer are really great musicians. Wetton could put a lot of feelings in his voice, like in "Lament" with KC. RIP John Wetton. Your voice is unforgettable!
Mam ich trzy oryginalne CD. Danger Money pierwsze wydanie 1985 rok.
When this came out I was surprised it wasn't a hit - catchy and fun, with some understated prog that seemed radio-friendly. Just a couple of years later Wetton would repeat this sound with a different set of musicians and hit it big with ASIA, but this album is the groundwork for that project, I've always thought.
@@hzv7242 I also recall that disc-jockeys then called it "commercial", coming from UK, which was according to the mindset of that era perhaps true. Still, I loved it then and I love it now. I also bought those two vinyl LPs then and bought the first one as a CD later on.
I love being able to revisit this band as I knew them in my youth. I saw UK tour with Jethro Tull in 1979, and it was an awesome show (at MSG in NYC). I know Ian Anderson was impressed, as soon afterwards he had Eddie Jobson joining Jethro Tull for 2 albums in 1980-1981. I enjoy this music more now, especially since John Wetton has passed. I have the first album and also Danger Money on vinyl, and love them both. The first with Alan Holdsworth on guitar and Bill Bruford on drums is priceless. But as Bruford has the staying power of a bumble bee, Wetton gets Terry Bozzio from Frank Zappa's band, and they become one of the most awesome three piece bands ever!
Saw the original line-up and this line-up. Both were great. Also saw Wetton on his solo tour, playing acoustic guitar and singing. One of my fave bands.
What a brilliant band, i saw this lineup live 1979? in Stockholm. First lineup of UK was with Bill Bruford and Allan Holdsworth. I wish they had stayd longer as a band.

Less known fact is that Eddie Jobson was considered as Yes keyboardist. He even briefly featured in the music video for Owner Of A Lonely Hearts, although didnt play on the album
I was lucky to see what I think was their last show opening for Jethro Tull at Long Beach Arena 1979? I was like 13 years old. Had know idea who they were but I went out bought Danger Money as my mind was blown away. Had pictures...but I don't know where they are...so bummed. Glad to see this on youtube
always interesting to follow the thread of musicians ... from the UK with Bruford/Jobson/Holdsworth/Wetton through to Asia wth Wetton/Howe/Palmer/Downes ... seeing where Wetton was hoping to be and hearing the songwriting progressions from UK (and before) into Asia.
Hey drummers not sure what you feel you have to prove today.....yeah yeah keep it steady, but dang get a DRUMSET! We get now, minimalists and you can play on one, fine, but it often looks weak and dorky, get a kit with some toms and cymbals.

U.K. is underappreciated prog supergroup. Both albums are masterpieces.
I have both albums plus the concert. Danger Money and Concert first release on CD, U.K. thirtieth anniversary edition
I Was 15 years old when I Hurt This song
Now I’m 59 years old and I find it on UA-cam
I’m so Happy
Me too. I remember U.K. from that era, when I bought both records. It never lost its appeal. Timeless music.
me too! ik kocht die lp zelfs! op mn 14e en dat was een Grote Belevenis toen
Absolutamente maravillosos. Una banda a revindicar urgentemente. Están en el panteón de los grandes.
Eddy jobson un fenomeno.
most greatest prog-rock group in music history.. unfortunately little-known and often forgotten, John Wetton - R.I.P.
The greatest was ELP.

Great UK never forget it
Agree 100 %!!!!
Most greatest is grammatically incorrect.
John Wetton was and will forever be SUPERNATURAL. His musical resume is nothing short of outstanding. Love and miss him.

@@sermonvenes No way. Both Bozzio and Jobson were at the level of their respective ELP counterparts.
He had such a voice!
He and Greg had probably the best rock voices and very similar too !
The last of the great prog band RIP Mr Wetton 😥

this is awesome
Had tickets to see them in 2015 in San Franciso and gave them up to go on a cruise. One of my regrets in life.
How Was the Cruise??

Fenomenalne!A jaki skład!Tylko Johna już niema😢
Saw this tour at the Palladium in NYC
Nicely done on the production of syncing the audio/video together! 🙂
my first progressive concert in 1978 in Puerto Rico. amazing musicians..
Wow lucky you Puerto Rico? Jesus I saw Rush and UFO in 77 was 14 ha wish I knew about this band back then I was very hip as a kid

It got played a lot on early MTV. It was a hit on there.

It's much better than Asia, as King Crimson was much better than UK (but I do like UK).

I was there! Great show. And Bozzio is my all time favorite drummer, hands down.
Love this entire album. I saw UK warm up for Tull and went out and bought this on vinyl the very next day
Incredible. I'm 16 and this music is 10 times better. Prog for all!
This is absolutely fantastic.
Love this song - one of the first I learned to play myself (on keyboards).

What a great band - tragically short lived
