I'm glad you're covering logs as I was hesitant to accept that contract as it says something about learning phase contracts first. It is a crucial thing for filling out the day though
Love the videos keep them up! The cool thing about this game is when you build up a big railroad having multiple people play all working together is a super cool idea to me.
Release they were generous and we got 8 skeleton cars and the sawmil starts of processing 15. Nice to see they are adjusting things around. good work there on that downhill, i did quite some squeeling on my first run but it stayed in track!
Just started playing this week and I’m very much enjoying the game. I use train 2 the ul16 or whatever it’s called, and I have the passenger and caboose hooked up to that. I dropped 2 fuses right before ela and right before whittier he goes to one place. I drop the passengers in the bottom right corner tab and load up the next and boom. While he does passengers I run the variety of freight missions with my other train and me conducting it. Think I found a pretty good system. Really excited about this
Kerbo, I use the real world weather for the location that I'm playing. I grab the Bryson City NC weather for Railroader, I grab the Chama, NM weather for the Pine Valley map on RRO, etc...
Also, have you noticed fluctuations of passenger numbers at the stations when you fast forward time by an hour? I've had it drop in numbers when I go forward in time.
Just started playing yesterday, your video series has been immensely helpful in helping get started. The tutorial is a little hard to understand sometimes. Thinking about getting into multiplayer. Do you have a server?
I don't have a server, but check the railroad-recruitment section on the Railroader Discord. Link is in the description. Welcome and happy railroading!
I'm really liking it so far. It doesn't compare to much else unless it's Derail Valley. I like the more realistic setting and era that Railroader has, but DV is an excellent game as well
I'm not sure and don't have the info handy, but on the Railroader Discord in the community resources section, someone has documented all that. Discord link is in the description
I started with L2 because I could put all 8 cars there but realized if I place 4 log cars each on L1 & L3 (run around tracks are handy) I could load 8 cars faster. What I can't find right now is how to buy additional cars so I can get 2 more log cars to max out the lumber mill unloading track. Am I missing something, or do I unlock that somewhere?
If you start a game in company mode it automatically starts a tutorial. I highly recommend you go through that and read it all as it explains how to play the game. One of the things it covers is buying new rolling stock with Shift+T. This key combo is also in the Controls section of the Guide, which I also recommend reading. You can find the Guide at the top right of the game screen. Thanks for watching!
LOL, I found it on their discord. I'll be honest, I half-a$$ed the tutorials after watching you do them. I basically went through the motions from memory and skimmed the written part. I was too anxious to get railroading!@@KerboOnYT
HELP Train can't move. I've made 2 trips to Ela and back. After disconnecting passenger car my train refuses to move. Can't release brakes reverser stuck in neutral. I gave it orders to reverse at 15mph. It moved about 15ft now it won't follow order. Both icons are red. Tender 2.7T Coal, 3,424 gal Water I've tried restarting the game
Had this too, found out that I had the other loco selected. Switched back with ctrl-click to the correct one, that sorted it out. Maybe try that? Or something with your AI “orders”. If that is activated you cannot use any controls on a loco.
@@KerboOnYT Apparently AI was engaged for "Road" at 0mph. Thought I switched it back to manual last night maybe I was confused on seeing the 0mph and thinking taking over the controls would override the AI. Thanks for the help!
Awesome video !!! You always amaze me !!! This game is quite complicated !! Love the realism. !!! Love the background music. !!!
Freaking love this game. Keep em' coming! So glad you introduced it to me

Logs are a great money maker. There are more logs in Fedora RR's future :)
I love being the conductor and trainmaster in single player.
Yes! The game has so many great features and it just works. I'm loving it
Appreciate the videos as always, I'm loving this game so far. Thanks for putting a good word with the Devs for Arthur too.
I'm an Arthur fan and thought he would be a good fit so made the suggestion. It's a great game!
While you wait for the logs to load you can run the passenger cars
Love the videos keep them up! The cool thing about this game is when you build up a big railroad having multiple people play all working together is a super cool idea to me.
It will be interesting to see how far I can go as a solo player. The dispatching is kind of neat
@@KerboOnYT I look forward to seeing the journey
Good thing you held off buying those log cars, because the game gives you a total of 8, now. Happy New Year!
I started this save before they gave you 8 so I had to pay for my 4 extra. Oh well. Happy New Year!
@@KerboOnYT Uh, sorry 'bout that, Chief.
so happy you doing the commentary on this game some others are shocking i got to get this game
It's a ton of fun. Thanks for watching

I derailed one car and damaged it to 50% the first time I came down that hill when doing the tutorial so learned my lesson
@@KerboOnYT I never even learnt that on the tutorial! I had to find it out myself.
I like the sounds makes it very immersive been playing for 4 hrs now
Nostalgia setting in for OG railroader. Almost 1 year!
Shift click glad hands!! Ugh thank you for that tip.. lol
You're welcome. I'm not sure if it's in the guide yet. Note it also works for couplers
When you are waiting for logs to be loaded, turn off the locomotive or simply leave it on.
Still impressed with this game and series. Thank you Kerbo!
Thanks!
Had to look it up, but at least according to one guide FL stood in for Flat, Log Car with spine. FM is a general flat car.
Thank you for this series
Whenever you say throw a fusey, I get a cold sweat thinking you mean a fusible 😂

Passenger numbers seem to change by time of day with fewer in the morning and evening, but I haven't done any extensive analysis
I'm jealous of this AI. Other games could use such intelligence (ATS/ETS2, Farm Sim)
Helper C is stuck on an object
What is the Caboose used for? The little one you get at the start?
It's just for fun. In multi-player someone could ride in it
ahh. Tysm. Has been confusing me for hours haha. Appreciate your help.@@KerboOnYT

I wonder if hot boxes will be implemented? That could get scary if it does.
they are in the game, as well as you need to oil the cars/engines and overhaul them every couple of 1000 miles
Been looking forward to this game, how do you like it compared to the others Kerbo?

sweet good to hear, might have to try it out sometime!@@KerboOnYT
so do they plan to only have pregenerated maps or will it be like RRO?
There will be no track laying. This is based on an actual short line in North Carolina, the Murphy branch.
@@KerboOnYT ahh okay cool, I hope that they plan other lines. would love some Canadian rail lines personally.t6hey
Hey Kerbo. Your videos are helping me. What are the number of cars that can go into each of L1, L2, and L3? Keep up the great videos.

i got 8 skeleton flatcars when i started my company, how do you have only 4?
Earlier build of the game
Yeah same I started with 8
I started this series on a pre-release build.
It's really weird when you see you're ahead of a youtuber in a game. Somehow since launch I already have 20 hours played, I think I need help.
I'm only a UA-camr on the side. So far I have 38 hours total and I had it a week early. You may indeed have a problem ;)
Why are you using ai then just watching him, you dont even have a 2nd loco yet, so you're just waisting money on him
Because it's fun and the cost is negligible. I can run an AI all day for like $3
