Very clear and concise guide to CTC! Nicely done! I would have been nice to see the trains themselves overlaid as a Picture in Picture over the explanation
Thank you for this video. I understood what CTC is and how it worked generally but as for the specific details on how to work the system I still didn't quite understand it. However with this video I now understand how CTC works more specifically and I'm very much looking forward to using it in the game.
@@LordInter The UK has major control centres as well, with displays similar to this but different technical controls. These main centres often have huge numbers of signalmen working there. He's been dead for a decade and a half at least, and he kinda lost all his wind and sold everything after my great aunt died (I was probably 7 or 8 years old at the time). But he had an engine that he'd put on an old truck frame that he took out after church on Sundays, and the church ladies would sit on lawn chairs in the tinder with their big fancy hats flopping in the wind. That sucker really flew! He'd cruise right up and down the road 50 or 55mph. He used to send me in there to clean the flues because being a kid I was small enough to get into the firebox and crawl way inside (and too dumb to know any better hahaha). He also had an old traction engine that he ran his sawmill with. The whole extended family got together once a year in the fall and we sawed all the lumber everyone needed for the next year. My job was to "help" my other great uncle fire that traction engine while my dad helped load the logs up on the carriage. Man, those are some of my happiest memories. If you google "Eston Teter Road Locomotive" you can find pictures of some of it. Thanks bro. Looking forward to the coming updates!

I wonder how popular this role will be in multiplayer? Multiple people can get their chance on a train, but only one person is required to run Traffic Control from the looks of it. I don't point this out as a flaw necessarily, this video makes me very interested in running traffic control for a full server. As someone who's dealt with auto dispatching in many train sims over the years, having a human behind the panel could be an improvement!
@@railroader as far as I know switches were known as Straight and Thrown positions or also known as Open (Straight) or Closed (Diverging/Thrown). Was weird hearing it referred to as Reverse, everything else sounded right.

It can to some extent, you have to be careful where and when you send your trains on their own... Plan the meets ahead of time... Just to make sure there will be no issues. We hope to work more on making it more fool proof down the road. As a note: I play with AI trains almost exclusively and, so long as I plan it out ok, have no issues with how the system is setup now.

Is it still possible to build signals on the Alarka Branch as shown in this video? I can't find the option to implement them in the milestones menu or through the sandbox game mode.
