I don't think he's ever been a people pleaser, though some of his former fans seem to think he was. I think his response could have been more objective and taken more time to separate the possible issues to address and counter (what he is being accused of, why he's being accused, by whom, etc.), but it's a personal attack by what feels like the entire internet including self-proclaimed loyal fans. Compared to what's going on in the world, this seems like a very small issue being blown up. Whether they break up in a month or stay together happily for years - how emotionally deprived do people have to be to judge and attack every single public relationship they do not approve?
