Japan has the 2nd most active world champs in the world right now. We may very well be witnessing a Golden Age for Japanese boxing. Their rivalry with Mexico in the lower weights is one of the best in the sport!
Don’t they also have a rivalry with the Thais, Koreans, and Filipinos? If it wasn’t for Muay Thai, I feel like there would be dozens of Thai talent.
Also i thought Japan‘s era was during Harada‘s time.
Kinda sad to know that only Asia and South America care about the lower divisions, they’re like thhe most entertaining imo
@@kiboma4209 They do have a rivalry with Thai boxers and certainly Filipinos, but I would say the one with Mexico is a bit more heated given that they just recently traded 2nd and 3rd place for most active champions.
I don't know much about Harada's era. Did they have more active champs back then than Japan does right now?

He fought the best for his weight class and beat them all either by KO or convincingly by decision.

@PiplupPlus Tank is going to go fight at like 140 that's 18 pounds heavier than Inoue is now. And Curmel is 17-18 years old with like 3 fights he hasn't even fought a ranked opponent in his weight class yet. By the time Curmel is going to be ready to even compete with Inoue, Inoue will either be slipping out of his prime or he will be retired.

@Carpetmans heavy hands, relentless pressure, attacks both the head and body, chopping punches mixed with more technically crisp shots. You'd have to have elite stamina, toughness, and defense to survive 15 rounds.

@@Oblivisci........ok no, hes definitely one of the best, might be up there in the top 20 P4P best ever but not the GOAT. Manny Pacquiao and Salvador Sanchez have both accomplished more and beaten better competition by the age Inoue is (well Sanchez died at 23 but even by 23 Sanchez did a lot.

I got Usyk. The Gypsy King likes to fk around too much and who knows how serious he can be taking the "Middleweight." Usyk always comes out 100% and I think his stamina and skills will carry him through to a UD victory.
My money is on Usyk as well.
Your money is not bulletproof. As much as I dislike fury, he will smash usyk.
If I had to bet I would bet on usyk as well, but, I honestly think it’s almost too close to call. I think fury after getting rocked by ngannou got a little wake up call, and he already would have taken usyk seriously, so you know he’s gonna be training his ass off for that fight. But more than that, fury has fought some of the best, but we’ve never really seen him fight someone with the same speed and ring IQ as him, and usyk actually fits that bill pretty well. Both of them are very aggressive probe heavy style fighters, it will be a shootout for sure. I honestly think that no matter the result, it will be close, and we’ll see a rematch for sure.

Fury by decision if the fight is close. There's a vested interest in making Fury vs Joshua happen by the promoters. Fury can box, clinch, brawl and make the fight hard to score, I will be very surprised if Usyk gets the decision and there's no way he's winning by KO.

We need to see Inoue with the best now??? He's literally been fighting nothing but the best at the weight classes he's fought in, TF do you mean?? He's literally about to fight another top contender ranked in the top 5 of his weight class in Luis Nery. Inoue will literally fight 1-2 more times before the year is over. He's more active then alot of champions in other weight class, and fighting better opposition as well.

Only Shakur and Muratalla are viable options but he can always fight them in the future. Martin beat a tough bronze medalist in his last fight and is tough and undefeated, obviously he hasn’t gotten title shot considering Haney was the undisputed champ and vacated

Melvin Jerusalem seems really successful when fighting against Japanese fighters. He won both world titles in both fights. My nephew actually trained with him before Melvin moved to the Zip Sanman gym.

Edit: I would like to comment on the Russian stuff. While Bivol and Beterbiev from my knowledge have not done this, many of the Russian athletes across multiple sports have used medal ceremonies and after event interviews to spew nonsense about the geopolitical situation. Some have gone so far as to include a 'Z' on their outfits(the Z is a marking used by Russian armoured vehicles).
Additionally, there is the issue of the state sponsored doping program in Russia. Again - not accusing Bivol or Beterbiev of being part of that, but it is an issue within the sporting world.
With that in mind, I do fully understand the reasons why the governing bodies of different sports have taken stances against Russian atheletes. Is it right? No, there should be an independent investigation before condemnation, but I do understand the reasons.
Joe Cordina was actually set to face Shavkat Rakhimov on Bivol vs Zurdo, but he broke his hand in training and was stripped of his IBF title in which Rakhimov faced Zelfa Barrett for the Vacant Belt in which he won. Joe faced Rakhimov in a rescheduled date. So Joe technically doesn’t have two title defenses under his belt.
Holy shit. Boxing has so many Divisions and sanctioning bodies with respective titles. It’s nuts 😭

But because of all the different promotions and federations (also I think too many weight classes).
I understand there’s a lot of money in boxing but holy fuck, I just wanna see the best boxers fight each other. We don’t need 15 weight classes (an exaggeration but it’s not far), and 6 different belts in the same weight class.
Nakatani should unify all the belts at bantam and then fight inoue! Massive fight!
Well realistically by the time Nakatani unifies 118 then moves to 122, Inoue will more then likely be moving to 126. That fight would be a fire fight, however i don't think it's gonna happen anytime soon, considering what i just said, and considering both are leading Japans golden generation of boxers.

This is all subjective but Canelo is not the WBC champ. Hopefully we can see them fight but David should’ve been on this list. He is undefeated and he is a current interim champ of two divisions in the WBC.
