Hungern gives me nightmares. Never thought an elderich umbrella monster thing would ever creep me out but here we are. Credit to the designers for the look. The pulsating idle animation, the spinal cord umbrella handle, the eyes, the long tongue, the fact that opening Hungern means seeing their inner flesh. UGHHH. It's horrifying in a weirdly artistic way.
Hungern is super gross, but it's funny how it's offset by how much comic violence he gets put through. There's some attacks where Umbrella pushes his tongue out further with the handle, and a lot of getting smothered or smashed on the ground.

While there's no lore or any lead to origin of hunger, I believe it's also has somewhat connection to Skullgirls The handle of hunger look like a skeletal structure of a bone, and it's ability to synchronize with umbrella Skullgirls power might explain why it's radically different from her sister weapon.
hungern isn't really connected to the heart/skullgirls, its just another parasite thats known to all theons but its form changes based on its user, hence why the handle is bones due to umbrellas blood being skullgirl related, its literal power is to just consume everything, thats why samson and lev are scared on why umbrella has a dangerous theon like that
I feel like this is another situation like with Annie where umbrella by herself isn’t actually all that with her animations and the partner (her umbrella) is doing a lot for her variety But unlike Annie umbrellas… umbrella is a big part of her character making her animations as a whole a lot more expressive

Just that there are 2 variations. If used against 1 or the last opponent(if there are 2 or more), Hungern does swallow them completely, but the dead body still gets spit out. If used on the 1st and/or 2nd opponent in a vs 2/3 fight, the body is swallowed and no dead body is spit out. (Fyi: The move used is "Feeding time", her 3rd tier blockbuster) This comment has gone on longer than it should lol
