I just purchased a 5th from this guy (JR) in this video and let me tell you he is the real deal, yes he’s a salesmen but he’s also true in what he’s says, in his videos and his sales pitch, if you want the honest true and reality of what your about to purchase this is your salesmen.
    No BS.
    He responds when needed.
Thank you JR your the real deal!

When we bought our fifth wheel the tech who gave us our walk through advised keeping a mallet on hand in case the handle got stuck! One year in we had to replace the hitch. Excellent video, thank you.

This guy covered ALL of the critical components and troubleshooting tips for unhooking the hitch. Some other videos skip too many of these helpful hints and must do actions.

Like the others have said, thank you! As usual, the dealership rushed the walk-through and spent very little time on the big stuff. He spent more time showing me how to operate the fireplace inside than the leveling system. I've been towing TT's for a few years, but this system is different enough that I need decent instruction. The more I watch your videos (yes, multiple times) the more I'm able to make some connections in the PROCESS that match with hooking up a TT--but not the tools (those are TOTALLY different)! I just bought a 2020 Chaparral, and frankly I'm super nervous about hooking it up and unhooking it. I'll be leaving this video to see if you have one on the auto-level system--after you've unhooked. I generally travel alone, so I need to do it by myself. I know this is old-hat to you, but to many of us rushed through the walk-through, your video is gold. Perhaps someone should start telling salespeople to stop telling customers that the walk-through person will "spend as much time as you need." I've purchased 3 rigs, and not once have they spent much time (of course, after the first two, I should have realized that's the rule not the exception). Anyhow, thank you so much!

When we bought our fifth wheeler we were given a walk through. One of the things we were advised to do was to carry a mallet in case we had to beat the hitch open. Wish we had seen this video (and the companion video on hitching) when we first bought our RV. It would have saved us from having to replace our damaged hitch in our first year.

Glad we could help! Let us know if you want to see us do a 5th wheel setup video like our Travel Trailer video. I keep pushing Eric for it and I bet if you comment in like 5 to 10 of our videos asking for 5th wheel setup video he will green light it.

THIS VIDEO IS OLD BUT HERE GOES: I HAVE A HALLMARK CYCLONE TOY HAULER 2008 / 3712 / 41 FT. I PURCHASED IT USED NEVER HAD IT ON THE ROAD. GETTING IT READY FOR THE ROAD. THE HITCH IS A DRAW TIGHT GOOSE NECK. I HAVE A TOOL BOX AT THE END OF MY 8 FT. BED. IN ORDER TO CLEAR THE TOOL BOX I MUST CRANK IT BY HAND TO GO HIGHER. THE JACK STARTS CLICKING BUT HANDLE TURNS SO I JUST ASSIST IT. QUESTION: IS THERE ANOTHER HITCH; I.E. ANDERSON ADAPTER , FIFTH WHEEL HITCH AS YOU SHOW HERE THAT WOULD MAKE MY UNIT SIT HIGHER SO I COULD HAVE AN EASIER DISCONNECT OR IS IT THE JACK MOTOR AND OR GEARS NOT GOING DOWN ENOUGH????

I would call our parts deparment and see what they thing would work. You are getting into swapping a ton of stuff to try and make that work I would talk to them.

Do you have a video that shows how to close an electric awning is the motor gives out

    • @therealjr1715

Not yet but we want to do that this winter along with a ton of other videos about manual over rides. If you have a LCI awning you can download an app on your phone and it shows how to do that too

Hello, I am planning on buying a pick up truck for a lightweight 5th wheel, but I am getting a tarp or rapid roll bed cover, so after I unhook, will I be able to cover the truck bed? Thanks.

What's a good fifth wheel hitch for your Truck. And would you recommend a 4x4 Truck for towing.

    • @therealjr1715
      @therealjr1715 5 років тому

I live in the north east so I would not buy a truck that was not 4x4....I really like the B&W personally but the demco is good too if you want to save a little money

Hey Jr new subscriber here. I’ve got a question regarding unhooking my 5th wheel. If I’ve got 4-5 “ off level front to rear before unhooking is there a way to figure out how much of the manual front legs to drop before I start the electric , ( no auto level ) so I am able to get the coach level and then hooked back to the truck. I hope I said all that right. 😳 Thanks for taking the time to make the videos they’re very helpful.

And Jr, I would like to add to that request. I use an Anderson Hitch and I struggle to know how much to drop inner legs since I have to raise my 5er high enough to get off the ball. On more than one occasion (on pretty flat sites) I’ve gotten out of stroke errors on the 3.0 Ground Control. Getting pretty frustrated! Love your videos, keep ‘em coming

You’re clearly not an idiot, so what’s your opinion about length of the breakaway cable: shorter or longer than the safety chains? Lot of different opinions on the interwebs…
