@SirValorSax 1) Thank you for your artistry and insights. You have inspired us with your tone, your playing, your lessons, and your passion. 2) Thank you for a wonderful year of videos (I realize that it’s very time consuming and takes much energy). 3) Remind me to send you Lenny Pickett’s fingerings for LH palm substitutes: I’ve never seen them anywhere. Lenny was teaching at New York University when I was earning my PhD and he showed me these. I’m conducting orchestras in Europe on my tour now but will be back home in NYC in March and I can get those fingerings for you. I wish you health and joy. And, many more rapturous musical moments in 2024 ! -Dr D
If you finger "F" with the side "C" key, you'll get an altissimo "G". Just lift the "F" key to get the altissimo "Ab". You can also play altissimo G with 1 and high F#. Use the side C for an Ab trill
Use one of these trills in reverse, A to G# to play the first two notes of Bob Seger's "Turn the Page" on tenor (instead of the usual alto) as in this video: ua-cam.com/video/Z__Mo_hF_5E/v-deo.htmlsi=7OIJsi364MPM-8YY&t=8

Good to see another vid! Hope you're doing well SVS.
I don’t even own a saxophone but I watched this anyway lmao. Good video!
Love you man!
so cool Sir!! thanks so much!!
Extremely helpful ❤
Missed you for a while, could you make a video on sax players doubling on flute? That’s my great weakness.
Hmm. Cake.🎂
How do you play altissimo chromatic run from high F natural to high A? (Like kinda part of a "D" blues lick)
I'm looking for G and Gsharp trill, can you explain it please, for example play on Dm scale
